This is a great song. I can relate. Many many mothers give up their dreams for their children, it is a struggle to hold on to work fulfills you when you have little ones to look after, and they always seem to need you.
I'm sitting here with my banjo in front of TH-cam, learning new tunes... while my daughter is at school!! I have been a sole parent since my daughter was only weeks old. One day my creativity will flow freely once again out there in the world. Our children aren't children forever. Putting the breaks on part of your being in order to raise children is a big sacrifice. I have a feeling, however, that my music and art are better for having had this experience of creative repression.
Your voice is both haunting and lovely in this performance. I like you use your whole face when you sing. You also have what I would call a classical folk sound, reminds me of being a boy in the 60s and my crazy old ma and pa trying to create a revolution.

What a voice! Playing and singing are like walking and breathing to her.
I see my younger self as a maker and a mother of five in this song... Beautifully written and sung.
I just LOVE this song AND Love Aubrey as well.... XOX

Nice rendition, and an appealing performer!
