I recall as a young child going to the beach every year growing up. There was an ice cream parlor that was always packed in the evenings. One treat that was always a treat - a wet walnut sundae! I recall making this at home, but with maple syrup. Very happy to stumble upon this recipe - thank you! And my friends thank you as well as I had gifted them some delicious wet walnuts as they had never heard of it. Note: I used golden syrup (made of sugar, not of corn)
Hey Our Forever Farm, you got a massive view boost to this video after King Cobra JFS (Josh Saunders) gave you a shout out. He really loves to gobble some wet walnutes. Great video. Back in the olden days it was popular to eat young walnuts, but it's a fairly recent phenomena that you should wait for the walnuts to ripe and become of age. But trust and believe back in the day people would put unripe walnuts in their jars. Anyways thanks for reading. Mind giving his channel a shout out in a video? He does cooking videos as well.
ok, made these today exactly as directions. um....way way ...way too sweet!!! Next time will reduce sugar by 1/2 to 1 cup or maybe even more to only use 2/3 c in total.
These wet walnuts on vanilla ice cream: heaven on earth!
