Wow! Thank you so much for this. I know you posted this four years ago but I am just now finding it. I cannot wait to try it on ice cream but my first try was on a baked sweet potato hot out of the oven with a little butter and a couple of heaping spoons of the wet walnuts. It was absolutely heaven.
Thank you for sharing this recipe I made 4 jars and I've even added bourbon whisky after taking it off the stove to cool it was so amazing. I've since made a jar from my daughter. She loved it also my son-in-law loved it..
We don't long ago buy wet walnuts from the grocery store. We just make jars of it and put it on the shelf ready for pour on ice cream. Wish I can share the photos that I made
Just made 3 large jars 🫙 omg absolutely delicious. Thanks for sharing this recipe! We’re from NC and a local ice cream parlor recently closed and we missed their wet walnuts/pecans so much. We’ll be enjoying these all summer long!
THANK YOU THANK YOU, NOREEN! I bought a jar last week. I cringed at the price being almost $4 for that tiny jar that serves 2 to 3 times. I wondered hmmm.. How can I make this? Now I know! I love wet walnuts on ice cream!
Thanks for this recipe. One of our local ice cream parlours (now closed) growing up used to serve peanuts done like this and it was wonderful. I can no longer eat peanuts so using walnuts is a great option for me. I am going to share this video with friends who miss our peanut toffee sundaes. They can try this instead.
omg ur killing me noreen . i have seen these here in michigan in all the arabic stores . i have looked at them and wondered what they where . they look so pretty in jars and the ones i have seen are layered with different nuts and in beautiful jars . oh yum . now i will buy some first only because i'm in a hurry to try them tomorrow !!!! lolol . than i will make my own and i know ur recipe will be the bomb . ty so much for sharing and so sorry i haven't been around . it has been a bad 3 years loosing both my parents and falling and detaching my right and left shoulders beyond fixing !! but i'm back and doing great so far . i am limited in what i can do but i still get stuff done just takes 10 times longer . but i'm not giving up. hope you all are doing fantastic and have a great tonight and rest of the week ! gnight and hugs from michigan
I do not recommend that. The syrup will most likely skew the baking time. Throw off the chemistry of the recipe and cause the center of your cake to be gummy.
Oh Thank you so much for the recipe. I go to a yogurt shop and get this on white chocolate mousse soft serve ice cream on a waffle cone. It is the best, but now I can do it myself. Thank you so much.( P.S. can you do a white chocolate mousse ice cream Plz). :-)
OmG Noreen are you freaking serious it's 10 at night..... now I'm sooooo going to be dreaming about tasting these. I'm not sure I like you very much right now! 😉
You fill up a container with the chopped up nuts and drizzle the liquid over the full surface and fill it to at least the halfway mark. For canning, do the same exact thing except use complete whole nuts don’t chop them until you open the can to serve and add more of the liquid to about 3/4 of the way full.
Ice cream with walnuts that is very tasty. Good idea 😃

Wet walnuts over soft-serve ice cream is my absolute favorite. Thanks for sharing the recipe.

Wow that looks scrumptious.

Yum! Tfs
Thanks for sharing, I'm going to make a batch to go over oatmeal.
Yum, great ice cream topping! I've never had it but I want the pecan topping too!
Hmm....I'm from TN and never heard of this. But...looks yummy for my tummy!
love your intro
OMG... looks amazing I had no clue. I did find a recipe in the ball complete book of canning, this is so next on my list.
YUM !!! Can I substitute corn syrup for the maple syrup ?
yummm
Yummy!Love nuts I will be doing this today ,I'm off so this will be dessert tonight 💞💞💞💞💞
Hi Noreen, is brown rice syrup an alternative for the corn syrup? Thanks for all the fab videos!
Yummy!!
it cracks me up when Rick's fingers sneak into view and grab a nibble of something. LOL
Can u put this over a pound cake before baking? Looks yummy
I do not recommend that. The syrup will most likely skew the baking time. Throw off the chemistry of the recipe and cause the center of your cake to be gummy.
Thank u so much. Thank guess ice cream would be delicious lol
grew up with this too in NY and I'm in my late 40s didn't think they were a southern thing
*Alli's All About the Dog I grew up in NY also and remember wet nuts as well! Thanks, Noreen!!
they were always my Favorite Topping. YUM
THIS LOOKS INCREDIBLE! I WANT! hahahaha
Give me some!!!! Yummo
DEFINITELY RIGHT UP RICK'S ALLEY!!!! FINALLY!!!!! SOMETHING HE CAN "PUT ON ICE CREAM" 😂😂😂😂 NOW THAT'S A RICK'S TREAT! 🎉🎊🎉🎊🎉🎊😎😎😎
what region are these from?
This is why i miss TCBY
Do you toast the walnuts before adding the liquid?
No need. You are cooking them in the syrup
Thank You
Noreen thank you for sharing this. I will be making some of this jar of yummy ness! I shared on my fb group page.. :)
Thanks for this recipe! I cut it in half and it still made a lot. Banana split, here I come! Lol!
how do you find out if this is safe to can?
It isn’t. This is not a safety tested canning recipe. I recommend trying the ball blue book for safety tested canning recipes.
I have canned these up. Ball has a recipe for them but they are not called wet walnuts.
TWU! 👍🏻
OmG Noreen are you freaking serious it's 10 at night..... now I'm sooooo going to be dreaming about tasting these. I'm not sure I like you very much right now! 😉
Just let it cool before you put on your ice cream ....unless you dont want any right away. But when I make wet walnuts I cant wait to taste them
I understand completely! LOL!
Omg get to it already
There is no recipe for the wet walnuts in that link
Isn't that what goes on top of a banana split?
M eating nuts ice cream and watching this
How much nuts do you use for this recipe?
You fill up a container with the chopped up nuts and drizzle the liquid over the full surface and fill it to at least the halfway mark.
For canning, do the same exact thing except use complete whole nuts don’t chop them until you open the can to serve and add more of the liquid to about 3/4 of the way full.
