No. But a dealership will sell you one because it comes with a warranty and they don’t have to worry about you coming back when the other solenoids go bad
@@jeffkildow9917 from what I've read..it could just be tge transmission output speed sensor..that is a easy fix..it mounted on the driver side at the end of the transmission..one bolt holds it in place n u just have to unclip the wire connector..its a 5 minute job..oem part is about 140 bucks..after market one ranges from 15 to 30 bucks
@@danielhuerta6575 because that sensor can cause that code p2714 and it can make it seem like your transmission is bad..doesn't want to switch gears and it will put your vehicle into limp mode
@@benzlee8538 What you are saying makes sense. when mine shifts to 2nd it jumps back to 1st. As if it thinks the truck is either moving slow or stopped.
I have the following codes C1201, P2808, P2757, P2714, P0796, P0776, P0746. when I put the car in drive it only moves after pressing the gas RPM's to 7. and when putting it in reverse it does nothing. I don't feel it engage. Any help would be GREAT!
It needs to be diagnosed, but there seems to be an issue with the transmission. If possible (some vehicles no longer allow this), check the transmission fluid. Also, be sure the battery is good, and the terminals have good connections. All the computers need a good power supply, or they will give errors.
so i got a P0983 code..than took it to toyota to diagnose the issue..they did a software update n came out with P0766, P0776, P0894 n P2714 than the code i got when i took it in was gone after the software update..now toyota dealership tells me i need a new transmission..i was like huh??? my transmission is not leaking or slipping but wont shift after 3rd gear with all codes pointing to the solenoids..what are your thoughts on this?
They told me the same thing on my 2018 Camry they dealers are liars grab the solenoid yourself and find a good mechanic then take it to Toyota for a software update
Yes, sometimes they can be hard to replace. The transmission pan needs to be drained and removed, and depending on the transmission, the solenoid can be hard to get to. It is best to see if there is a video for your transmission to know what's involved.
So the p2714 code does not necessarily indicate the need for a whole NEW transmission?
No. But a dealership will sell you one because it comes with a warranty and they don’t have to worry about you coming back when the other solenoids go bad
