I have that set and it is fantastic. Very well built and all the sockets are snug on the shaft preventing rattle.
Another use for this is to remove all the sockets and the shaft makes a great magnetic pick-up tool for small hardware you might drop down into your project.

11/32 is a common size in electrical trade, and a Pain in the a__ size that HVAC techs don’t typically carry as a dedicated size driver. Nice review!

We run into them on certain condenser fan motors. I carry an individual 1/4 drive deep 11/32 socket on a 1/4 drive to 1/4 hex for that reason.

Get the Klein 32303 multi-bit 14-in-1 adjustable length screwdriver and put this shaft and nut drivers on it. Makes a great all-in-one carry for your bag. Take the "leftover" handle from this and the shaft from the 32303 for your most commonly needed bit (I have a #2 combo bit - excellent for electrical receptacle screws).

    • @projectpinehills

  • @CaffeineOman

The Malco socket sit on that RIM it definitely a factor in keeping your magnet intact, if your using impact tool all day long. The Klein design is more suited for light duty screwdriver, it offers more configurations. I pair it with Wiha ESD centrofix handle, smaller and no play.

Twenty years ago I got a tool called a flip drive at a trade show and its the same concept. I'm guessing Malco got the idea from them. Does anyone else remember the flip drive? 11/32 is a Very common size for hvac and most techs do carry one of some sort.

I bought this and struggled hard trying to insert the bits into the handle. Like it goes in but it gets stuck. Putting it in and taking it out is a nightmare other than that great tool. I’m sure a little of WD -40 will take care of it.

The fact that you can take the sockets off means that if the magnet falls off, you can easily loctite superglue a new one. Not a perfect solution but magnets are dirt cheap and some tools will just lend themselves to wear and tear over time no matter what.
