      Even if you did the 11/32 is commonly used for the fan motor nuts and is not deep enough. Honestly it's useless even to me who keeps a 11/32 Klein nut driver

    I like that they attempted to improve the flaws of the previous design. For hvac the 1st gen sizes are more applicable because condensor fan motors mount with 11/32 hex nuts. But it didnt work because it requires a hollow shaft to tighten all the way down. Because of this, I will be switching to the gen 2 with 9/16 paired with a hollow shaft 11/32 nut driver.

      Thanks for sharing that 11/32 information. I know there are some specific electrical applications for 11/32. I think Klein is responding by offering both 11/32 and 9/16.

      I'd love to see them expand this to a series of hex drive flip socket sets.
      Metric, for instance
      6mm x 6.35mm (1/4" hex)
      8mm x 10mm
      12mm x 14mm
      The smallest socket couldn't be stored on the shaft while using one of the larger two, of course.

    A great video brother. Klein has really stepped their fame up. Oh yeahhh.

  • @manwithllama
    @manwithllama 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    7:51 My guess: Klein removed the longer taper [and moved to a stepped design] primarily so the socket has a lesser chance of getting bound up on surrounding obstacles.
    Imagine you're driving a fastener into a countersunk hole. The further in you drive it (with the old long taper design), the more likely you are to bind the outside wall of the socket on the countersunk "obstacle." The stepped design-and the thinner wall-gives you the lowest profile possible, letting you fit in the tightest spots.
    Amazing attention to detail both by Klein, and you for pointing out that change. Great video!

    I just bought the old 14 in 1, since it's on sale at Home Depot. I really need to keep up with videos on here, because I would have bought this new 20 in 1 and then pick up the new set with the 9/16th. I picked up the old 14 in 1 and the stubby for $26, so I could get just the 2 sets of sockets and be set. I really do like the new divider in this new handle though. Since I am always needing different bits, since I do a little bit of everything, I can get the 20 in 1 and change the bits. Then I won't need to bring my case of bits everywhere. The Klein that's on sale is the one that doesn't have the flip socket on the end, in case anyone is interested. This 20 in 1 blows mine out of the water though. Thanks for the video. I might start shopping at Lowes more now. I am starting to not like how they are pushing brands out. I like Milwaukee tools but I like having different brands of stuff and I buy what I like from each brand. Home Depot probably going to be a 2nd store to shop at for me, like how Ace, Menards and Lowes have been for years. I really miss the old Craftsman tools though, and shopping at Sears for tools as a kid. Seeing new tools makes me think about the old Sears shopping trips with my Dad. I am glad that I experienced that, even though by the time I got older and really was able to work on stuff, Sears was on the decline and now they are gone. These sets of nut drivers are going to lighten my load on jobs, and I am going to get both, even if I decide not to get the new handle. It would be nice to have 1 handle with 1 size setup and the other with another size. I can use the bit driver only handle from the older 1 I have for the screws I come across. I think this will speed up my jobs. Thank you so much.

    the reason i prefer to carry the 7-1 with the 9/16 and the 14-1 rather than the combined 20-1 is because the 20-1 doesn't have the shaft length adjustment that the 14-1 has. but i would like the have the improved carousel that holds the bits better. do you know if you can adjust the length of the driver if you put the old shaft on the new 20-1 handle? thanks

    Where’s the metric version Klein, I have an almost exclusive Klein tool set and I hate having lots of different brands. I have a full insulated screwdriver set, I also have the 11 in 1, the 4 in 1 stubby and the 4 in 1 precision . I’ve been waiting for the new ModBox rolling tool cases to hit the UK, why are you dragging your feet supplying Europe.
    In addition to the above screwdrivers I have the slotted screw holding set, side cutters, 2 pointed pliers, combination pliers, water pump pliers, wire strippers, tape measure, hacksaw, junior hacksaw, USB tester, multimeter, magnetiser and many more, I’m a serious tool buyer but I feel I’m being driven away, either Wiha, Wera or Milwaukee will benefit from your loss.
    Now I’ve ordered 3 Milwaukee nut drivers because I couldn’t get Klein metric versions, and, as my 11 in 1 has some snapped bits and I couldn’t get the replacements I know you sell, I’m going to order the same versions from Milwaukee too. I’m now looking at the Milwaukee Packout tool cases, come on Klein, what the hell are you playing at…………….
