I think all these designs have such a fun feel and you definitely added character to them. I personally think the domino logo for dominos like a lot of big brands is kind of untouchable especially because it is so simplistic. However your logo had so much character I think it would work for any other pizza brand that was built around it
I think the point of the current UPS logo is to connect the company's history (being over 100 years old) and the original logo. It's meant to look old fashioned. Their colors are brown and gold...keeping in mind Pantone. The shield is actually includes a parcel. Placing the arrow in the logo now takes it away from being United Parcel Service. All people would see is that arrow and the word ups disconnecting it from the company. All I can think of is up and not UPS. Logos are not only about looks, but the connection with a company's history and culture. The interesting thing about the employees that work at UPS is that they all start from the bottom and have to work up...just like their founder James Casey. You should consider that history when designing a logo. First thing I ensure when I hire a graphic designer is to see if they understand the company. Though I like your work, the UPS revision is a no for me.
Company logos evolve all the time...Apple, Google, even UPS...employees that work at UPS start from the bottom and move up, thus the arrow in her redesigned logo would make a rational connection. I think Abi's idea was the fact that an arrow evokes movement and the company is constantly moving packaging. In fact, UPS themselves removed the gradient look and opted for a more simplistic design in 2014, so I don't really think that was their intention...logos are meant to represent a brand and be memorable. Doesn't have to be literal (like Apple has nothing to do with fruit). I can see where you're coming from, but I think the main goal of logos is to represent the brand as it is now, as it is catering to customers today, not yesterday. Graphic designers need to understand the company, but most importantly they need to be able to communicate and articulate their design choices so that they and the client can reach common ground.
I appreciated your fresh perspective on the logos, but probably liked UPS more than Domino's. Liked the new UPS look while keeping the same colors, but I would move the S closer to the left - adding the arrow between U and P made the UP look separated it from S, so the UPS doesn't really read as one word. I really liked making the I into a domino - what a smart idea. But I feel like making the O into a pizza as well was too much, I would maybe leave that part out.

As much as I like the UPS logo, the arrow makes it too similar to the fedex logo, which would make the brand look like a copycat. But the execution is still very nice!
Absolutely loved the UPS redesign! And the domino's logo is great too. I kinda feel as tho with that bite mark over the first "O" it makes me think of a cookie instead of a pizza. Perhaps maybe taking a "slice" out of the "O" instead? Either way great job!
Yeah fr, sometimes when graphic designers are making designs; including myself, we forget about common sense and logic, and think about what would look good instead of what's right. I most likely would have done the same thing, and then thought about it 20 minutes later and would ask myself, "Who the FUCC would take a bite out of a pizza like that.... only fuccing heathens thats who, and I dont think Dominos would want the connotation of 'ONLY HEATHENS EAT HERE.' (Connotation wasn't the word I was thinking of but I cant think of it, and I've been trying and googling for literally an hour. The word is like, "When your brain makes a connection without realization about something; yet, causes your point of view, or thoughts about that idea, thing, whatever to change based off that connection.)

It's strange how our minds interpret things. Because as soon as you added the arrow to UPS, it no longer read as U.P.S. to me, it just read as up's. And when you removed the dot from the letter I in Domino's, it just became Domno's.
Agreed...and when she added the bite marks in the O all I could think of was donuts and not pizza. Too much disassociation for me. She obviously has the skill to create and build logos, I just am not feeling the execution.
Nice work on the UPS redesign. If I ignore the fact that an arrow is used in the FEDEX logo, the only issue I see with the redesign of your UPS logo is the arrow being too small for readability at smaller sizes. It disappears completely. Widening it out a bit would help the execution of the idea.
Love your take on the ups logo. The arrow directs you up as it’s supposed to which is good. The dominos logo is starting to get there. Overall good job 😊
i think a good fix to prevent the UPS logo from looking too similar to the Fedex logo is to replace the arrow with some boxes since UPS is a shipping company
I love the dominos one! Not sure about the ups though, i think the color psychology is just terrible in the original honestly. I think you’d be better set changing those colors bc the orange kind of looks like a food brand or something.

I am a beginner and I am just sooo scared when I use any fonts or mockups as I've never bought any of the ones I downloaded, some of them I don't even know where I've gotten them from. I am scared of being charged with something or idk paying some fees or being acussed of plagiarism, but I just don't know how to mention the creators of mockups or fonts.. help
You do realize the first brand is… *U* niversal *P* arcel *S* ervice …and not Ups? Like the bottom-right UPS logo best, though I wish you'd used the gold swoosh instead of an arrow. Love the Domino's logo!

If you think a font's corners are too harsh, and you're working in Illustrator, there's absolutely no reason you can't round the corners to soften it
