They hit the quota for NA for sure. Killing tier 4 players in a regional random game is more iconic than the Golden Road block, Faker's Galio outplay or Madlife. Sure
seriously thanks to everyone at the scoreEsports who worked on this video. I can tell your true fans of LOL esports and not just pushing content slop for a deadline. been watching pro lol since 2014 and this brought back a lot of great memories
we have seen kings fall and gods rise, the end of dynasties and new beginnings. it makes me emotional thinking back to all the incredible moments over the last 9 years that ive personally been watching and im always happy to see that im not the only one whos touched by the storys this game and this scene tells
Missing: -Canyons "Ghost Kick" -2 HP Baron Steal -Madlife - basically defining the support role -DRX Miracle Run (I know there are two clips from the run but the entire thing is THE esports moment. -EDG's own Miracle run to win worlds (where they hadn't made Quarters, and then ran the gauntlet, including defeating DWG which almost no-one predicted. -The T1 vs RNG Faker Galio 5 game carry still ranks up there -G2 knocking out RNG and stopping the Golden Road was probably still one of the greatest upsets -G2's 2019 run - including beating T1 in semis - Yasuo combo. -GAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLAAAAAAAAAAA Pentakill -Albux Knox Luna making quarters is still the greatest wild card moment -The Ambition J4 wombo at Worlds Finals vs T1 There's probably more that I'm forgetting
Kind of crazy that 2019 G2 didn't show up in the video. The win against skt with that insane narration was one of the most iconic moments of a western team in league. I think it is on par with Xpeke moment. Meanwhile, i think there were some moments from NA that weren't that iconic and didn't had the same importance than others that weren't in the list. But well, thats my opinion about it. It was a really nice video and very well made. Congratulations!
ur not understanding the video its about LoL history and in the EARLY days like that wildturtle subbing in was a very important moment in league history. If that swap happened in s4+ its not as important but in those early early days it was seen as a much more impactful moment. I DO think 2019 that year in whole needed more showcase and im surprised the misfits series against SKT isnt on here as I believe they were the first team to push SKT to a game 5 at worlds.
I am surprised you guys didn't include S2 winners TPA. They came out of nowhere and Lilballs Alistar who showed the WQ combo with Toyz Orianna was revolutionary at the time. Everyone expected Moscow 5 or Azubu Frost to win but these guys from Taiwan came out of nowhere and won. It was unbelievable!
@@millionelectricvolts6117 that was Azubu frost Vs Tsm where they looked at the screen at the start of the game and saw Dyrus go into bush for a gank set up.
What was more impressive about the DRX win in 2022 was the fact that they were barely fourth seed coming into worlds, scraping through with 3-2 wins against KT and LSB in domestic playoffs. The way DRX ramped up during playoffs to beat EDG GENG and T1 to win it all was crazy. Deft’s story made their run even more incredible.
One thing, you should not have forgotten, right after pray's arrow very next game Kkoma bans mf but is like ''I fucked up bengi you need to play nidalee'' and proceeds to have one of the games of his life while having almost 0 practice on the champion 1-2 down in the worlds semifinals representing skt, chilling to thing about.
Not a single moment from the entirety of 2019 or 2020. Obviously no where did you guys say this was an exhaustive list, but it was a little crazy to go from iG at worlds 2018 to Viper in LPL summer 2021
Honorable mention: Cpt Jack It's not a big, flashy play but I can't remember having seen anyone just keep walking without even 0.1s delay after a cc like that.
You guys don't understand... I either have a new medical condition, or you guys have a crazy ability to give me goosebumps over and over and over. These moments deserve them on their own, but then you guys amplify them. It's a feeling man like no other in league. I love your channel.
Inevitable that there will be missed moments (2019), but hey, can always make a second video. I do appreciate the wider lens you guys took here. To those confused about the Chaox-WildTurtle inclusion: it's notable for a bunch of different reasons that maybe weren't 100% clear in the video. Season 3 as a whole was a transition period from the chaotic, less organized, less professional early years of League esports into a more professionalized, Riot-controlled, league system. TSM was popular not only because they were a great NA team in S2/S3, but also because they were a pretty cool team, people loved TheOddOne's streams, etc. And then in that first split of Season 3, the first ever split of the LCS, there was a documentary released week-by-week that showed TSM's roster behind the scenes/in the team house, which elevated anything TSM did into "drama." So the Chaox replacement had a bunch of eyes on it and it was this really notable moment because it was a team making a performance-oriented move in a way that they might not have in the more chaotic pre-LCS days, and because we had games every week instead of a new tournament every few weeks, the consequences were immediately extremely obvious--both in the game and behind the scenes, thanks to the documentary videos.
I have been watching competitive League since forever, at least 13 years now and I have been a SKT fans since the start (my Icon in game is STILL the 2014 SKT Logo to this very day) and despite all I have seen and (hopefully will see in the future) nothing has beaten and nothing will ever beat that "And they like those odds" moment. The amount of money I would give to be THAT good at the game for just one match, just to know what it feels like to be a God is indescribable
God please grant TSE the sponsor to make an R6 edition of "The Most Iconic". I don't play, watch, or care about League, but this is such a sick production. Love being able to understand what's happening.
That Tigers vs SKT match was my first ever game of anything Esports that I watched, that arrow blew my fucking mind, and I remember clearly that after the match I played some league and almost every game I played I saw a miss fortune supp.
Great documentary. Been playing since mid 2011 and watched almost all the major events. This reminded how long the games were back in 2012-2016-or so. My favourites are the backdoor and Viper at his prime.
Unexpectedly.. I know ALL of those iconic moments even xpeke and insec. It really felt revolutionary during that time, especially insec Leesin, I was watching that match live with my friends and we all were feeling ecstatic. Thank you for grouping all of it, and even take sometime to put in context of what makes it iconic. And I believe it could go over 3 hours long video if you put literally everything 😂
If I remember correctly their was an interview with someone from EDG saying the Morgan’s black shield was bugged and had an interaction that would completely negate Leblancs Q. Only they had known about this bug and used it to their advantage
There is one line that just perfectly encapsulates the narrative for worlds 2023 in the long illustrious history of League Esports, The Return of the King.
As much as I do agree Faker's engage onto Ruler is iconic, I think an equally if not more impressive play happened in the SAME GAME. Oner's split second flash to dodge Ashe ult and then instant engage to win the teamfight AND stealing dragon IN THE MIDDLE OF THE TEAMFIGHT will forever be iconic to me. Without that play, there is no Faker play because the game would simply have ended so much sooner and in favor of JDG.
I was there for most of these moments, watching live. It's crazy to think back on a time in which LoL felt like the new game and how long it has been around now it's basically a 'boomer' game but it still feels like yesterday it was just starting to blow up. CS, StarCraft, DoTA, LoL are still the best esports titles in my mind.
One of the best videos from you guys. Some many names we have forgotten that defined the game when they played. Thanks for the trip down the memory lane!
Really great video. I started following League around 2017 but it was gradual, so this was a good video to learn more about the plays/players I always hear about, but never really know the full story
wowwwwww the moments is just giving me major flashbacks to different times in my life, I'll never forget that Faker Leblanc loss. It was unbelievable, they baited him and he got wiped out
I do like the video but i don't understand skipping from 2018 all the way to 2021, 2019 was basically the peak of western league of legends and so many things happened that year which deserve mention, although i do understand 2020 being skipped but man the 2019 worlds and msi were packed with insane moments, TL beating IG, G2 beating SKT twice
There wasn’t a single person who thought IG couldn’t handle G2 in 2018. G2 beating RNG was a massive upset, and IG were one fiora auto attack from beating KT 3-0
2014 lost was due to Rekkles not going for the goal with Yellowstar, therefore actually one hit from winning and actually ending losing the game completely, remember that clearly and it's sad. >D Kinda funny how so many clips are from that 3-4 year episode when the game was superb.
@1:26:10, So basically the EDG roster back in 2021 had 2 koreans (Scout and Viper), in the comms here, what language are they using? and do they use that language when china region have imports from korea? Hopefully someone can answer, im just really curious.
A great vidoe bringing back some great memories but one point bothered me lol. 51:56 "doublelift has been chunked his teams backs against the wall" he was hit by 1 shot of jhins ult and a bit of aoe and was still on 75%~ hp not really chunked at all both teams traded a kill and c9's jungler was on half hp, and he still has ult, flash and heal... and enemy adc has no ult or summoners. It looks like a pretty good position for them! His only real concern should be gnars ult. Not to mention his team has multiple GA's.Ultimately it was good play by him and tsm but it wasn't some impossible odds that he and they overcome, it was a very winnable fight.
Honestly cool to see those good times 10-11 years ago when I still played this XD League by now not only gave us the game but also an amazing TV show that everyone could enjoy... And hopefully soon an MMORPG that will take the throne as well.
Faker's shockwave was excellent but truly it was the support and adc that popped off there. Like obviously it was the whole team working beautifully together but Wolf's rakan set it up beautifully and Bang's invisibility on twitch allowed him to position perfectly to followup. SKT is disgusting though as an org obviously, all of them played out of their minds that day.
You definitely miss Bjergsens debut Copenahgen wolfs was 0-11 or something in the EULCS because they couldent play with Bjergsen because he was not 16 years old yet. Then his first match they win and he gets pentakill on his signature syndra.
Damn old Leauge was noisy. You can barely see anything at like 50% of the fights. That wildturtle clip you LITERALLY cannot see who or when he is attacking...
Great video but your priorities seemed a bit off. I know this is a opinion piece but there are much more iconic moments from worlds and the LPL LEC LCK than included imo
Man I loved this video but really feel like you missed the mark not including Albus Nox Luna’s run. That truly changed how the rest of world viewed minor regions, and how much respect they received from riot in the seeding at international events. It’s of course hard to say, but if not for them and the Taipei assassins i don’t know if we would have a play in stage at worlds today.
The crazy thing with the faker leblanc one is fakers scoreline and cs wasn't even bad but because it was his first loss on her everyone treats it like he hard griefed or something
Just call it NA "iconic" moments rather than League of Legents History when the subjectivity is so high that you think that a random pentakill vs tier 4 players in a wildcard region is more iconic than Madlife signature move that litteraly changes the way hook champions are played 0-10, 3-15 or 0-12 NA at worlds are more iconic moments than Balls feeding and getting carried or WT regional debut
Queued again. 4 times to be exactly. Fed my ass off every game (unwillingly). Actually lost every game. As a result got insulted and probably reported every game. Back to watching worlds stream 😂

-Albux Knox Luna making quarters is still the greatest wild card moment
-The Ambition J4 wombo at Worlds Finals vs T1

I'd add Missfits vs T1 at world 2016, no one expected MSF to go heads up with T1 while they were the most dominant team
anx vs rox still stands as my favorite pro game ever
it’s so criminal madlife isn’t mentioned. xpeke and insec got mentioned for their moves named after.
IgNar Blitzcrank and Leona Fervor must be here and the Misfits vs T1.
GAM vs TES 2022 Worlds Elder Dragon fight into base defense into upset deserves at least an honorable mention as the most iconic minor region moment.
I mean TES lost because of Maw of Malmortious bug
How about Albus Nox Luna beating ROX Tigers at Worlds 2016 and getting out of the group, leaving CLG and G2 behind?

The crazy thing with the faker leblanc one is fakers scoreline and cs wasn't even bad but because it was his first loss on her everyone treats it like he hard griefed or something
"NA's 3rd seed LMQ" Sheesh, remember those days? When LPL teams wanted to be in the LCS? Times sure do change 😂
Ryu died yet again
Just call it NA "iconic" moments rather than League of Legents History when the subjectivity is so high that you think that a random pentakill vs tier 4 players in a wildcard region is more iconic than Madlife signature move that litteraly changes the way hook champions are played
0-10, 3-15 or 0-12 NA at worlds are more iconic moments than Balls feeding and getting carried or WT regional debut
Queued again. 4 times to be exactly. Fed my ass off every game (unwillingly). Actually lost every game. As a result got insulted and probably reported every game. Back to watching worlds stream 😂
I"m glad petter's Lucian made it. whew
Honorable mention for GAM vs TES
I’m surprised Albus Nox didn’t make the cut.
Ryu: "Oh for the love of-! Can we stop?!"
