I took my bike in with starting problems to 2 separate Harley dealer. I have an 04 Dyna 124"build. They kept telling me my carbs needed to be adjusted and then giving me it back with the same starting problem. It was my battery cable the whole time.

Hey Shane, i seen problems with not enough threads to too many threads . I know mechanic's that put blue thread locker on bolts holding batts cables. Hey what did that Frayed wire go to Shane ?. was it to your regulator or What?
Thank you Ted. I've had some struggles. Just had another relationship end and "TH-cam" or my work was to blame. So it's been a tough few months. I'm finding a sweet spot I hope. Just trying to make it all fun while impactful. I appreciate you for noticing or saying so more than you know...Shane
Although I have terminal covers on my ‘93 Vulcan, I cover the top and pos side of the battery with a piece of inner tube just to make sure sparky ⚡️ doesn’t pop up and ruin my day because the Duracell battery for her cost about a buck 20 and it is feeler gauge tight in there‼️
I have seen people use a bolt that is a few mm too long and it will not tighten properly because the end of the bolt hit the battery case under the terminal.
True that....thanks for sharing. I tend to see it from people not using the supplied bolts and transferring old bolts to new "different type" of battery.
In this case that's copper not rust...they are super clean and were even volt drop tested. But if you mean in general absolutely agree friend. Have you seen all the battery videos we have? Thanks for commenting that important point!

I moved to California for a position as Lead instructor for Suzuki motorcycles and powersports for the US. 4 days after I moved there Suzuki defunded the US training program and I was given the choice of moving to Marine Products. After 2 years of no bounce back and not feeling the impact of "teaching" from just making "new" product sales material, I followed my heart and went full time with How2Wrench. My first consulting job landed me the opportunity of a lifetime working in the aviation/medical space for Zipline. I know get to teach all over the world making real impact for a company the delivers life-saving blood and medicines by drone. Thanks for asking Greg...

How about cleaning the rusty terminal conectors too.
