Hi Ben, first of all, thank you for the instructions. I tried every which way and it still did not work for my A129 Duo Plus. I followed your instructions step by step and at one point the dash cam wanted me to format my memory card again. LoL...Anyway, long story short, I plugged the adapter into my phone and formatted the memory card that way. Then went to Viofo's website, downloaded the file, moved it to the external file (USB) unmounted it then into the dashcam and the updated started immediately just like you said it would. I am grateful for this video for steering me in the right direction. Thank You. 🍻
did everything step by step, deleted all files, added bin file but it goes right through the normally start up without blinking or any indication when powering up. I removed the power cord to make sure it wasn't connected to power before reinserting the micro sd card. I even formatted it and tried the same process that way. Any ideas?
Nice, my Viofo A229 Pro 2CH does NOT come with this USB Adapter.... Imaging paying 400$ for this and not having this adapter while other, cheaper versions do come with it.
What is the procedure for 2 ch dash camera? Can you load both firmware updates on the sd card or do the main unit first then reformat the card to do the rear camera?
Have you ever updated the A229 Pro via the iPhone app? It looks like it supports it, but nothing but error codes with attempting it. You would hope in 2024 OTA would work smoothly like on other cameras. Thanks!
you can not update it on iphone app at all. There is only some sort of weird thing where you can update it via IPHONE only if you have an iphone 15 pro. But it is a weird process.

Lmao, I was looking for this type of video for a139 pro yesterday. I'm pretty tech savvy and figured it out but I was hitting a wall using just my sd card and a reader. Sorry for the rant thanks for upload.
Actually you can use your iPhone or at least the iPhone 15. On my iPhone 15 pro I used a genuine Apple usbc sd card reader. I was able to download the new firmware from VIOFO on my phone and copy the file to a micro sd card using a micro sd card adapter that came with the micro sd card. I plugged in the micro sd card into the dash cam ( a229 plus ) and it updated with no issues. Just thought I’d share my findings with everyone who was curious and doesn’t have a computer close by to use.
Hi, The VIOFO A139 PRO i have doesnt give me the audio alert when it goes into park mode! But I can see that its in parking mode- yes I have the hardwire kit! What am I doing wrong ?
1. Deeply Format the card on your computer. 2. Make sure the file you download is correct for A139Pro. 3. Make sure not to rename the file when you copy it to your card.

Do i do rhe front 1st then just repeat the process with the rear camera firmware? Can i have both firmware update files on the same card, or do i need to do both individually? Thx

Hi Ben I have a question, after down loaning everything which went fine. I guess the question is that after downloading the system I was wondering if the iPhone should go back to VIOFO Dashcam like it does like when you first started out. It goes right back to the being just like first staring out. So if I want to look at the vidos I have to re program it all over again. I want to know if this is right? and if so how do I see my vidos?

there are plenty of dash cams that do not include the adaptor because depending on your computer the adaptor may not be relevant

Did you try formatting the sd card? Also does your firmware name have (1) around it at the end of file name? If it does please remove the brackets.

There is a setting in the camera for voice notifications. I would double check that is turned on
No matter how many times i try this on my A139 pro the firmware just does not update :( any ideas?
If it says fwa139bin (1) you do not want any brackets after the bin file

@@TheCriticalChris there is lots of dash cams where you can update via Wi-Fi app. Thinkware, Iroad blackvue to name a few
I have a Viofo A119 V2. Is that no longer supported? All I find is a V3 version.

Front first. Then dash camera will boot up. Once booted up then you have to remove sd card and do update for rear camera

Typically firmware updates will reset all your settings and you will need to go back in and set it up.
