I feel the same way about prismatic. It’s essentially retired so many standalone subclasses and long term could be a huge problem for overall game balance and tuning.
This is a very accurate representation where each subclass stands, me personally I love strand, despite how powerful prismatic is. I personally think each non-prismatic subclass should receive a similar meter to fill up similar to transcendence, for example you're on a strand subclass, you fill up the meter, go into the strand version of "transcendence" do a cool animation and get woven mail, sever each target on hit, and gain unraveling sounds as well as fast ability recharge rate until the meter runs out, or let's say you're on void, pop the "transcendence" and gain an overshield as well as volatile rounds and weaken, that would make each single element subclass feel fresh and on par with prismatic
Prismatic is definitely a Segway into all the subclasses being combined into one as a way to open up the builds way more. Genuinely hope we continue down this path and go more towards the “class tree” setup
I think the base classes need something like transcendence, transcendence is so strong and going back to playing without it feels like such a power drop especially when it’s not something you need to spec into ,no matter what build your running on prismatic you have a mini ability spam build built in,I would love something like “mastery” where instead of combing light and dark it would be focused on buffing that given subclasses ability’s and verbs
Ye and you build up the bar by using the same damage type as the super, encouraging full specing into the damage type with your weapons. In 'mastery' you get the ability regen, and same damage types get increased damage and the verbs but they could use new 'rounds' to make it new any interesting (suppression rounds, severing rounds, blinding rounds, etc).
Bro mastery sounds dope. Like give every ability the base subclasses have like a extra thing for example titan arc melees more damage more range make them all jolt or be able to do a completely new follow up attack right after or imagine beeing able to double tcrash like the arc hunter super or give them a mastery nade which is just a cracked version of the other nades or its 1 nade which is a combination of the other nades thats just very strong.
they really need to buff the base subclasses to make them more worth to use imo. Since Prismatic is a Jack of all trade Master of all, they should make the base subclasses have their stand out point, like if Arc is very good for ad clear, then make Arc's ad clear ability more stronger something like that.

Give EVERY Single Element subclass a niche, even Tickle Fingers. This would Hit Prismatic Hard, Yes, but I would also make it so you can Select which grenade you want for Transcending, And make it so Grace gets the one of the ends of the Artifact mod Transference (Either Extra Grenade / Melee damage, or Weapon damage while Transcendent refunds progress), Replacing the "Super kills grant increased Transcendence Energy" On the more Fine tuned side... I don't exactly know but for a good start for each class would be the following Warlock, change out Lighting Surge for Arc Soul, since its a weaker Aspect (or so i'm told) and you wouldn't have to use Getaway to get the double buddy. For Hunters, Calm down their Melee prowess and give them more gun focused Class perks as well as Increasing the cooldown for their Threaded Spike, idk why That gets to keep its cooldown while the other Strand Melees get Increased cooldowns, specially since as a hunter main i feel as if its the easiest to keep up. Titans... Keep them where they are. Sure they'll be S tier still, but if you can hold your own while in the middle of an army, I think you deserve it.
Prismatic consolidated a lot of different subclasses into one. I used to have different build loadouts for each element. But now it’s just a few different prismatic builds.
First way to balance elementals with prisma is increase number of facets for elemental, like gunpowder gumble gives 3 slots for prismatic, but 2 for solar. Why(. Having 6 slots for elemental classes would give stronger builds and mb encourage people to try them for builds. But also i think subclasses should have some unique things, mb as void centered a lot of things for invis and devour, solar for ignisions and healing, each class can have some buf or debuff which is easily obtained and sustained only within its class.
Hey! Great vid as always, In my opinion prismatic is overtuned and will stay overtuned as its just more fun than most other subclass (Neutral game is awesome as all 3 prismatics and leaves other subclasses that arent strand titan/solar-anything in the dust because they simply lack options. Destiny always has had the problem of not having many build choices for a looter shooter, subclasses 3.0 kinda solved the issue but each subclass still has only like 2 different variations of usable fragments you could do, but prismatic is fixing the issue by merging all subclasses into a powerhouse and giving the players ALL the tools. I also think that eventually destiny 3 will abandon characters all together and will make it so every character can spec into hunter/warlock/titan specifically like we do right now with individual subclasses (Encourages people to try and play many builds witheout having to gear up 3 different chars)
Stasis hunter would of been B or low A tier if prismatic didn’t come out after all the buffs it got Has good DR, good CC and neutral game, and the super actually does damage now
Honestly the only way for this prismatic subclass to be in the game is if they agree to just make it a jack of all trades but master of none kinda thing. Light and dark subclasses have their neache but as of right now, prismatic does everything just better. Mostly because they dont lose any dmg or sustain for having everything xd.
@@lelouch1430 agree too. I’m a little biased because stasis titan is my main class so I’d rank it A tier. Stronghold lament and lancecap wicked implement or buried bloodline are both two of the best gm builds in the game.
As fun as Prismaric is, I honestly think it needs a nerf if we want any sense of balance long term. It's already replaced half of the subclasses and further additions will just continue to make other builds obsolete. I'm already kind of sick of prismatic because it feels like you're pigeonholed into 1 or 2 endgame viable builds. It's just the "born to nova, forced to well" problem all over again. As for buffing the base subclasses, the only ones truly in need of serious buffs are Revenant, Behemoth, Striker, Sentinel, and Stormcaller. Every other subclass is definitely endgame viable, even if overshadowed by prismatic. (also revert the bonk hammer pickup cooldown nerf, that shit dumb as hell)
Prismatic should not get nerfed because it's fun. But the other classes should get buffed and add some new abilities to them like transcendence but around the solar.void.arc.strand.stasis theme but also just give stasis warlock a new super that thing is trash
Great list! But you're severely selling Strand Hunter Short. The playstyle you described is about the worst possible way to play it! Threaded Spectre and Whirling Maelstrom are far and away the most powerful aspects. The ability to stay hyper mobile and constantly spread unravel everywhere is insane, especially with threaded blast right now!
I think prismatic reveled how bad some of these classes are. Like arc hunter. Prismatic hunter got one melee ability from arc hunter and that made arc hunter useless…. If that happens that’s not prismatic that’s arc hunter being a terrible subclass with one op ability and everything else being terrible.
Though the ascension arc hunter build is pretty good, a ton of subclasses are either useless or have one really good thing that when taken and given to a different class, it sucks. I’d say they need to look at nearly every single aspect in the game and buff them, maybe consider allowing class items to work outside of prismatic, add a transendance to all subclasses, and look at some of the ability spam nerfs like ahamkaras and stuff that took away any kind of ability loops outside of prismatic. That or get rid of sub classes entirely and put all abilities on prismatic and let it all go nuts
@@Beeequick There have been too many times when I've started making a build for one of the regular subclasses, had it not work, and then disappointedly remembered that the exotics are limited to prismatic.
