    I went from a CSR to the CSW and will never go back. Worth every penny. I run the V2 wheel, V3 pedals and the Clubsport shifter. Zero problems.
    The CSR felt like a toy in comparison.

    are you supposed to use the bolt through the quick release? most people told me no, but if I don't use it I have terrible vibration through the red anodized quick connect collar.

    The left stick is a mouse emulator. You can program it to be your mouse key. I did it on mine and it's awesome

    Hey Matt. Been asking a lot of folks about the difference between my forza csr wheel and this setup. I don't want to spend the cash if it's not going to make me say wow there really is a difference. I trust you'll give me an honest answer cause I watch your stream a lot. Thanks dude

    • @MattMaloneTV
      @MattMaloneTV  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +James Collins Hey James! I own the CSR forza wheel, I upgraded to this one. I wanted a bigger wheel and more force feedback. I would say if you're really looking for an upgrade in immersion then yes, but I always tell people that a new and better wheel will not make you faster. The V2 is way stronger, it feels more substantial in your hands and its not plastic. That was the one thing I didn't like about the CSR is that it felt like a toy. With the V2 it actually feels like a real steering wheel and the depth of the FFB is much deeper and you can feel more of the car and track. Depending on how much you will use it I would say it would def be a "Wow" of an upgrade from the CSR. Hope this helps

    • @EliteCupRacing88
      @EliteCupRacing88 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Matt Malone yeah i can imagine that the feel with your hands it feels different but I guess what I'm asking is does the Mechanics of the wheel feel different. You said the ffb is stronger. Does this mean you feel more from the race track than you do with the csr. Sorry for the question but like I said don't want to spend the money if it's not going to feel any different on track than my csr. Thanks bud

    • @MattMaloneTV
      @MattMaloneTV  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +James Collins Yes you feel more of the car and track because the FFB of the V2 is more precise and is able to "change direction" better, meaning there is more depth to the feel. Also there is more subtle movements with the V2 giving you more information through the wheel

    • @EliteCupRacing88
      @EliteCupRacing88 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Matt Malone thanks so much Matt. I appreciate you taking the time to answer my question. Hope to see you on the track if not I'll watch you kick some booty on the track

    Matt, I preordered the CSL base, should I go with the Porsche wheel, or stick with the CSL line?

    As noted by Freddy - use Fanaleds for your lights and it will work flawless. Works for most games too.
    I'm with you on the connections on the back, seems like a bad decision to face them down for MOST peoples rigs.

    I really want this wheel/base but turned off by all the negative reviews online. The defects and problems reported. Are you taking a chance when buying Fanatec or have these issues been sorted out?

      I have had this wheel long time now, and yes I had to send it back to fanatic once to get fixed, but since then it has been flawless.

    Hey man whatsup. love the streams. But As for the click being a con, streaming that can definitely be an issue, but i dont think its a con in itself. Some love and/or need the strong satisfying click. but that should be an option i agree. if the click wasnt there id still want a nice solid tactile thump to confirm i had shifted, not some mushy feel ya know? And im from georgia myself, cant quite pinpoint your accent, midwest?

    I am wondering if your cons are related to iRacing or you received a buggy rim or base. With SLi Max Manger or Fanaleds the LEDs work flawless all the time on both my Rims. Maybe it is an iRacing issue or you got a buggy Rim definetely shouldnt happen.
    The joystick in the right works flawless as well on my BMW and F1 Rim. In the driver you find a setting, which makes the left joystick a "mouse controller", if that is on mapping could be a struggle. Otherwise it should work.
    Very nice review and get your hands on a Formula Rim. It makes the FFB insane with the smaller diameter and less weight :D

    • @MattMaloneTV
      @MattMaloneTV  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the input! That's a good point on the LEDs, I will have to test it out on other sims. The left joystick "works" it just is a bad design in my opinion, would much prefer a D-pad there for better navigation in the sim. About the F-Rim, I'll get one when I go for my pro license! Kappa

    • @Freddy3792
      @Freddy3792 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Matt Malone Ok now I get you. I use the right one for navigation. I tried "free view" on the left one, which is actually funny as it works well, but gets me disorientated. I use it for look left/right and brake bias, but a D-Pad would be better as I often look left or right for a second when changing the brake bias ;)

    It's so much cheaper in US.

      @MattMaloneTV  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well given the fact that it's an "Insignia" TV and not a Benq monitor, im pretty sure there may be 'some' lag but im used to it and yes the animation is slow anyways, kinda like the forza games when you shift, then the animation plays.

  • @madsmax9273

    with pedals, base, wheel, and shifter price comes to 1400 bones. im way to invested in sim racing so i will make the purchase but i think it is way over priced. whole rig with premium set up should be 1 grand for everything.

    OK. I have some serious problems with this review. First of all, you are complaining about button placement? On a REPLICA wheel? REPLICA? And acting like it is a Fanatec design problem? Take your issue up with Porsche, since they designed the thing! Fanatec is copying a very specific wheel to make this product as close to 1/1 as they can get. I can't even imagine the scorn Fanatec would get if they claimed they made a replica wheel and then changed everything around like you seem to expect them to. Whether or not you like the position of the buttons is a completely subjective topic, but their location has nothing to do with Fanatec at all. If you have very specific needs for button placement and won't be happy with anything else, get a Universal Hub and put each button pack exactly where you want them.
    Second, you complain about the shift indicator lights. Again, REPLICA wheel. That is where they are on the real car. Again, you are complaining at Fanatec as if making a perfect replica is a failure on their part. You might as well complain to Porsche for putting them there... but something tells me they have a few more resources than you do and have tested various rev light locations and picked this one because it is the best place and helps the drivers the most.
    I'm not saying you can't have an opinion and want things different, but complaining about the design of a replica wheel without acknowledging that fact is just plain bad journalism.

      @MattMaloneTV  9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      realtrisk Whoa, journalism? haha, I wish. You make great points, this was my first review and based on people's comments I've learned a lot for my next one. Thanks for the tips!

    Disappointing review, too light on actual information especially about the feeling of the CSW V2. The negatives you mentioned had nothing to do with how the wheel actually performs ie. Gathers dust is an environmental issue to do with where you live etc. and your problems with the stitching were just strange ... Why not tell us how heavy or light the wheel itself felt and the accuracy of the FFB effects ?... So the gears made loud Clicking noises but were they precise and 100% effective ? I would rather hear facts about the wheel and wheel base because your review came across as negative yet you finally say it is a great wheel, confusing and annoying. Cheers.
