Case calling jd's horse power artificial was a low blow lol,, the jd's would piss that power out without any black smoke or getting hot. They were no where near their limit on the 7.6

I remember 6 year old me walking through my Dad's cold storage shed and seeing a John Deere 4430, Case IH 7110 and a Case 2590. As a child for some reason that white tractor drew my attention the most. Although I spent the most time riding in the 7110 with my Dad. Then growing up they had newer John Deere and Case IH tractors but that 2590 Case is what always stuck in my mind the most. I am not here to argue over the best, cause they all have done great over the years.

Ran a 3294 MFWD Tractor back in the late 80’s early 90’s. It was a nice driving quiet tractor, pulled a soil saver in hard clay. I remember having to watch the exhaust temperatures. They still have the tractor today, don’t know how many thousands of hours are on it now, well over 10K, probably closer to 20K.

@@ilsmawandfarm1767 Well the 7080 was, at the time, the most powerful row crop tractor built, as was the D21 when it was introduced. The 220 was right in the game and so was the 8550 and 4W305. Allis built engines with great torque rise for the time. A 190XT had better Torque rise than pretty much any other tractor in its horse power class and it did it with a fairly small cubic inch engine. Then there are the Allis dozer engines that set records at Nebraska test for pulling ability. Drop a 516 cid Allis dozer engine in a Case 2590 or Deere 4840 and watch for the inevitable drive train wreckage to occur. Allis knew how to build power.

I liked the Case steering better, especially in row crop. Deere was fine just has a goofy steering ratio. I guess the Case had better visibility, but I sure enjoyed riding in the JD more. I've never liked the Deere cab. No room for even a lunch bucket and if the air doesn't work the heat from the engine will roast a person being the engine is so close to the cab. Steps are terrible too. Unlike most anti Deere folks, I really don't consider the front cab post a deal breaker..... it's the rest of the cab and the terrible serviceability of the general tractor that steers me away. From hood removal, fuel tank position, battery locations, 540/1000 pto swap, air filter location, oil filter position, and good luck getting at that hydraulic pump when the time comes.
What I like? Not much with the 30 series or 40 series but the 50 series on up through the 60 series I do like the 15 speed power shift.... the rest I could take it or leave it.

The 466 engine was an International tractor engine adapted for trucks. It was built by the thousands and lasted up to the 2000’s. Worked only many in school buses. It was the easiest and most durable engine I have ever worked on. Cummins and Detroit diesel.

It’s not the same engine. The 404 was bored out to fit Cummins pistons in it by a tractor puller. The tractor was the Cajun queen two. Deere bought the motor which became the 466. Had nothing to do with truck manufacturing. The video is inaccurate. Originally the tractor puller tried to put 5020 pistons I. But we’re to big. Dealers name was sydenstricker I believe. Famous tractor and the the 466 would out last cases motor all day long. Funny in the 4x4 video they say jd is to heavy and in this video they claim they’re not heavy enough. Actually Cases sell for more then John Deere's. Also John Deere is less of a friend of farmers nowadays simply because they have massive issues with allowing farmers to repair equipment. Also building a monopoly on repair. John Deere ripped off Bid bud and even stole the Quadtrac design. John Deere has become the backseat apple inventor. stealing products that already exists and not listening to there own customers.

A little American history here, oliver was developing a cvt in the 70s, but it got killed by white when they bought them. That same design was used by fendt in the 90s after agco bought them. (They bought both oliver and fendt) the design was a planetary style cvt which is still patented today, and thats why nobody else can touch it. While oliver never had a full powershift, they started a partial powershift in the 60s and used it all the way through white. It was a very strong and reliable design with many still running today. I've always wondered what would have happened if oliver went through with the cvt. But I guess we'll never know. You're not wrong though, I always thought if I buy new it would be a fendt, they seem we'll put together. (Plus they're partially oliver design right? 😉)

Fendt never had a Full Powershift. The Turboshift is a simple partial Powershift from ZF. It is reliable but not really better than the PowrQuad from Deere or the PPS in the Maxxum. In fact the Fendt shifts very delayed and also needs the Clutch to change direction. By the way, the same Transmission was used by Deutz-Fahr.
