I've never run a Challenger, but I've had the privilege of running the Magnums ALOT back in their hayday...the farm i worked at had 3 new ones. (2) 7140s and a 7120 all with FWA. They were absolute beasts and we used them for chisel plowing, spreading manure, grain cart in the fall...still my all time favorite tractor and im a JD guy lol.
Our farms runs all Case machines other than one CAT 75c, comfort and traction wise i will take the cat over any of the tired machines, but i would rather run a quadtrac over the cat anytime, its not a very fair comparison thought because the quadtrac is a decade newer and has a 100hp advantage on the cat
Case IH could never make marketing material that makes themselves look good without making others look bad. And who in their right mind would be doing heavy field work with 8psi in their tires?
I’ve run mainly Case machines but we do have a Cat 75c on the farm and i would rather run it over any of the tired machines but i would take the quadtrac over the cat, its not a very fair comparison though because the quadtrac is 10 years newer and has an extra 100hp on the cat. Both are great machines imo
Ironically CaseIH is accusing Caterpillar of the thing they exactly did.CaseIH introduced a product that no one was asking for to when they introduced their quadtrac in 1996.All farmers do not need a quadtrac to.In terms of their products Caterpillar dwarfs CaseIH.Period.There are place on this planet where can find many many Cat products but a single red CIH one
Are you kidding? The red quad track is used all over the world even Antarctica. Thousand are used on scrapers all over the world not to mention the farmers that use them every day. They defiantly are a needed tractor
His claim that the Quadtrac was a tractor nobody asked for is quite true, while it is used a lot today, back when it was being developed the engineers were doing something just to do something. At the time of it's conception, no farmer was asking for anything like the Quadtrac.
@@Zero01k so they could see a future market and capitalized on it. That’s like saying there was no need for a self propelled combine or forage harvester. If mother Deere led the way we’d still be using 2 cylinder Deeres but someone had to innovate so Deere can copy
I’ve run both a cat 75c and a 450 quadtrac and comfort and traction wise i’m taking the quadtrac all day, both machines are great imo and it’s not a very fair comparison because the quadtrac is a decade newer. The cat does ride 10x better than the quadtrac on the road though
This video did nothing to convince me of anything. Sure the Magnums were fantastic tractors, but this video was an unnecessary production. They should have been comparing two tracked machines.
I’ve run both a cat 75c and a quadtrac and from my experience in the field the quadtrac gets better traction and is more comfortable, the cat is more comfortable on the road though those older quadtracs will beat you to death if you ain’t careful lol

Cat 55 best tractor I’ve ever owned
Grandpa bought a Cat45 in 1999 we still run Cats on the farm today
I would rather sit in the Cat for a long day than a magnum !
Typical Case IH marketing making other tractor manufacturers look bad.

Still I will choose the Cat over the Case.
