Those cabs sure were ahead of their time. All the controls and shifting on the side console, ease of the cab door, the visibility is still good on those tractors.
Watching the 1370 out-strip the 1030 and 600 in the field is one of the best promotional clips I have ever seen. The 70 series were just a total step beyond. Nobody's cab was even close. And they had a futuristic, masculine, aggressive grille look that only AC came anywhere near. I always thought the 90 series lost some of the edge of the impression the 70 series grille had. The men that designed the Case 70 series could retire with the satisfaction that they truly changed farming for the better forever.
I remember going to the Kansas State Fair and seeing the 70 series after it was introduced. It was the the one that really stood out amongst all the other colors that were there and they were built to where they could last for years n years. .👍👍👍👍👍
The man I worked for in high school had a brand new 970 cab. First cab tractor I ever ran. It had a radio. I got to spread manure in winter in her. I was king of the world at 17

My grandpa was telling me one time about buying a new Allis B and I asked why he didn’t get a WD-45….”You’ve got to be joking! What would we have needed such a big tractor for?”
Love the 70 series! First tractor i drove 20 years ago was my Opa 970 he got new as his main feed/field tractor. My dad has had our 1 1370 for 20 ish years and the second for 8 now. Love these tractors ive spent hundreds of hours in them. Farming is too expensive for me to join so i found a 1976 case 446 garden tractor in the same sunset yellow as my Opa tractor to have my little piece of the family and do all the farm yard work with! mine is getting a full restoration this year and even has a cab!
I learned to drive tractor in a 1370! As far as I'm concerned one of the best ever built! Easy to drive better marking on controls and a full 100 cube bigger than the green competitor!
in 1972 when the 1270 and 1370 was introduced, the John Deere 4620 wasn't ever gonna touch it in the field for performance and a good cab. They are tough old units!
@@thegreenerthemeaner Then the in 76 Came the 1570 still with a better cab and nicer to drive tranny, but a 6030 is a 6030 lol 🤣 itd take a lot of horsepower to keep up with one
@@kolewiebensohn the 1570s and 2590s will walk all over a 6030 or 4840! They are capable of 250+ horsepower and the 504 was the predecessor to the 8.3 Cummins. Great Video. Definitely came a long way with advertising in the last 50 years. Was John Wayne hurting for money or just someone else trying to sound like him? We had a 2870, not a bad tractor for the time, it was well used by the time we got it. Thanks for sharing your videos.
Our field dinner table never looked like that. I don't know where he put all the food, even the cake was almost gone. That spread was enough to feed a large baling crew!
From my boyhood experiences, some of the best meals I ever had were sitting on the tailgate of a '51 Ford pickup that my Mom brought out for my Dad and me. Fantastic memories.
Probably one of the cringiest promos I've saw! But those large frame 70 series revolutionized Case, a lot of 12-13 and 1570s are still out their today! They had the best cab of their time when Introduced in the early 70s.. The 94 series Case, the last of the greats had quite possibly one of the best cabs ever made in my opinion and they are just it's descendents by a few years
Wow, what can I say...John Wayne sound alike, rawhide sound track, then out of the blue a babe waiting at the end of the field! Far out! Wonder if someone was smoking weed? Poor Charlie, he's more interested in the food than the chic, but that happens to the best I guess if we get old.
She thinks his tractor’s sexy, ‘cause Charlie sure could’ve closed the deal in the station wagon and sadly, the only jug he fondled was full of iced Tea !
That narrator once he starts driving almost sounds like John Wayne. We have a 1070 Case on our farm. I love driving it, but it doesn't get a whole lot of use.
Well that was the down side of the 70 series compared to the 30 series. The direct injection engines in the 70 series made more power and a bit smoky but the indirect injection on the 30 series usually ran cleaner but started harder in the cold. Here's a question witch smoked worst a John Deere 7020, a 7.0l Allis Chalmers engine, or a Case crab steer with a 504?
The Narrator is trying to sound like John Wayne! I ran a neighbor's 1370 for a few times, lots of power. In my opinion the Sound Gard Body on the 30 & 40 series John Deeres were a lot better. At the time every company was trying to make cabs as best as they could!
The 70 series was more of a box with glass than a cab. Very little noise insulation compared to other and later cabs. The same design, but improved, on the 94 series was much better, but was basically foam everywhere. Definitely easier to get in and out of than a Deere though, and more room.
@@J-1410 I've often wondered why they all say that their cabs have so much room? You are just sitting in a seat, not jumping around. All the controls in a Deere body are within reach. A bit like Charlie and the chocolate factory IMO
Happens the same to me
We used Deere, but the guy helping with silo filling used Case. Always had respect for these machines.
I have searching for videos on the 70 series for years. You made my day by far!
