I am excited about this game but because of no man’s sky, my main concerns are: progression, combat, and an actual reason or a fun element to it. It was scary, because Hello Games got so generous with the free updates (literally legitimate expansion content updates), that could have been paid DLC, comparatively to other major titles. There was a point where we were begging them to charge for some of the DLC, just to allow us to support them and keep the NMS train going, out of fear that they were run out of money. After the historic come back of NMS and the amazing work they've done, light no fire should be absolutely amazing. And this time around, the bugs shouldn't cause too much hate, since we know what Hello Games is capable of, as far as fixing the shortfalls

No Man's Sky is a game I wish I had more time for. It's fun to just bum around exploring. The seamless nature of it makes it so much better for random exploration than Starfield is. Hello Games earned my trust for how they treated NMS, I'm a day 1 Light No Fire purchaser
I’m brand new to Hello Games, NMS. Only about a month in with 100hrs or so. One thing I can tell you as a new player, NMS community is by far the BEST gaming community I’ve ever experienced. I’m excited to be aboard right before this huge LNF release!

Well considering the trailer looked absolutely nothing like the game at launch, it was a bit of a lie. Not to say that isn't most games these days but they all get tons of shit for it too, and it doesn't excuse HG over anyone else.

He black-and-white said that No Man’s Sky was a multiplayer game but that the universe was so large you weren’t likely to run into another player… Player began landing in the same planets week 1 and they were playing a single-player game. It didn’t become multiplayer until a couple years later (and other players were just orbs). It didn’t become ACTUALLY multiplayer until years later.
Fan theory - I think Light No Fire’s narrative will focus on the origin of the Atlas in No Man’s Sky hence one planet with the red orb and outstretched hand in the promo art.
Perhaps the game's developers are applying procedural generation not only to the terrain but also to items and characters, including NPC models. For instance, one basic torso model might have several possible heads and legs models, along with various textures assigned to it. In that case, a great variety could be achieved. What is your opinion?
I'm so excited for this game, a truly open world game that you can explore with your friends. It'll be cool to have wars and battles over land or factions, all amongst other players. This game should be amazing.
They probably are gonna split up the planet into many different sections/servers so that every one can technically play on the same planet. That being said even if this is an Earth sized game than you are never gonna find anybody if there are only like 10,000 people per planet.
I hope Light No Fire is well received. I'm looking forward to it but one thing you learn from watching live service models is that sequels will never launch with as much content as their previous games have accumulated over years of updates. If LNF spawns with as much content as NMS on launch I wont be overjoyed but I wont be breaking out the pitchforks either, I want to be pleasantly surprised so I'm gonna keep my expectations low.

The lore of NMS does open an ARG into LNF. If you have gone as deep in the lore as I have been, you will see it too. Maybe on the 19th minute 😉. I’m positive we will see Easter eggs of NMS in LNF and perhaps even references to lore of the end story in NMS.

So far the worlds and everything are great... I just hope the character customization is better than NMS at the start and they add things we can equip rather than things that are mandatory to have on... like the backpack for instance... maybe I wanna fly in style or something :c

My inner kid wants a shadow release for LNF, but i doubt that will happen. LNF looks so fucking good. Will definitely be my main for both the stream and just casual play for a long while if its as explorable as they are saying.
I'm willing to be there day 1 for this game even if it's broken ass water. Because I got into NMS like, less than a year ago and I'm in love but overwhelmed with it

It would've added depth for lifeforms to require more specific food possibly fostering a bit of trade, and hunting lifeforms would have meaning to it. A player could spend his time hunting for pet food to trade to other players. If this is too hard for some players then limit it to harder mode, but its too late, they missed that opportunity and adding it would cause backlash..

When NMS released it was over hyped, and need to disappointment. But that was also in a completely different time. If HG keep the faith, and release LNF with none of the bullshit we now have become numb too (same as NMS), it can be really really big.
I'd really love to see an open world game in which travelling takes more investment from the player than just moving in one direction. Travelling in an open world/survival game, even if not cross country, should take real investment and planning. You gotta measure your supplies, plan your route, take account of the dangers along the way, you know, stuff that makes travelling actual interesting, plus that feeling of diverting your path cause you found something really interesting along the way, or at least marking it on your map so you can return later.
I just jumped into no mans sky for the first time. And my god, it's AMAZING now!!!! What HG has done with no mans sky has given me absolute confidence in them for light no fire. I hope they wait though and launch it when they think it's finished. They had a lot of pressure to release no mans sky early and I think that did a lot of damage to them. They have re-earnt that trust so I really hope light no fire goes well for them.
Honesty I like Sean's approach the hell the hello games went through during development of no mam sky was brought on purely by sean talking to much about the game. The mystery behind radio silence is honestly the best way to go about this. Tbh I was suprised that we even received an announcement trailer.
So the atlas is nearer than ever to his dead, 8 of the 16 minutes has passed, and more than half of his systems have died. So with the little time and processing power that its left in the atlas, it decides to not imagine quintillion of worlds, on a never ending space... But instead, a single world... With all the most beatifull things he has ever seen.
I'm really excited for LNF. It's giving me major Runescape vibes! And since this game feels more 'grounded' than NMS, its gameplay and features might have better focus, quality and depth than NMS. I'm also beginning to think that the survival aspect is a better fit for a world that isn't as high tech

I survived the NEXT update. That was a pain. But, after the screams, Sean promised never do an update which would destroy our work. And he hasn't. I will pre-order LNF the instant it is on PlayStation store.
I haven't returned to NMS after finishing the game and then hanging around for a couple of new ships and features but I like Campaigns and NMS doesn't have much of that.
The big update will be for No Man's Sky. The big summer update is due. I think it'll be called the Continental update and be focused on a planetary overhaul. I hope my bases don't get destroyed. It was a lot of work to get all of those resource collectors down.

I think it's a great idea for game devs to wait until the game is almost completely before they announce it. That way we don't get another cyberpunk fiasco where the fans are rushing them to put the game out and they just release an unfinished game because of the pressure from the community
hmm...first time I've heard about the 3 earths things, Now it has me wondering if they will have procedural Earths and theme this game as parallel dimensions to justify the multiple Earths. Kinda like NoMansSky has procedural planets/solar systems in our Galaxy, LightNoFire could be procedural generated parallel universes of just Earths, creating its own "Earth Galaxy".🤔

I'm pretty sure it's already in one of the universes of Nms but without details like buildings and settlements. I dont think we will get to visit the real planet though. Imagine the clash of a fully upgraded nms player with mechs landing in a world where people build houses of wood and rocks.
At the start, it will be an empty world. But I'm pretty sure it will get to be amazing when players start building cities. Imagine a community building hogwarts and such amazing places.
Hello Games are at their best when they stay quiet and work on their games. They messed up by saying too much, but there's no such thing as saying too little. They should say NOTHING and shadow-drop. They would get so much respect for that.

im 48 played a lof of games was really immersed in star wars galaxies , nothing has ever come close to satisfying my gaming itch since. played wow since launch, quit during mop. i tried no mans sky at release , just couldn't get into it , had zero interest in it since. but light no fire has me a little excited and with the way they have put the effort into fixing no mans skyu ill back this developer. i swore i'd never a preorder a game again since the fallout 76 fiasco , but this one, this is one I would definitely consider preordering. keeping my eye on it.

A trip across the country on foot would take months. They hopefully will have a portal system for fast travel
I just jumped into no mans sky for the first time. And my god, it's AMAZING now!!!! What HG has done with no mans sky has given me absolute confidence in them for light no fire. I hope they wait though and launch it when they think it's finished. They had a lot of pressure to release no mans sky early and I think that did a lot of damage to them. They have re-earnt that trust so I really hope light no fire goes well for them.
LNF will be revolutionary. Between LNF, GTA VI, FABLE 4 & AVOWED.. we have all the rpg we could ever ask for coming 🙌🏼🌎🔥🙏🏼

Honesty I like Sean's approach the hell the hello games went through during development of no mam sky was brought on purely by sean talking to much about the game. The mystery behind radio silence is honestly the best way to go about this. Tbh I was suprised that we even received an announcement trailer.

I'm excited for this, but I hope it has a main quest. Even procedurally generated, its possible to do.
So the atlas is nearer than ever to his dead, 8 of the 16 minutes has passed, and more than half of his systems have died.
So with the little time and processing power that its left in the atlas, it decides to not imagine quintillion of worlds, on a never ending space... But instead, a single world... With all the most beatifull things he has ever seen.
I'm really excited for LNF. It's giving me major Runescape vibes! And since this game feels more 'grounded' than NMS, its gameplay and features might have better focus, quality and depth than NMS. I'm also beginning to think that the survival aspect is a better fit for a world that isn't as high tech
Ill pre order light my fire. Thats how much I appreciate how far they have improved and triumphed with NMS. Besides, its time to GIB them some cash for all this amazing work.

I hope that we have an option to have a private session with a few buddies, anyone who plays no mans sky expeditions knows exactly why. Being fully online is cool and all, but a lot of our fellow gamers are the absolute bottom of the barrel of humanity.
I hope they release it on pc first, iron out most of the bugs, and then release a pre-patched physical version for console later down the line.
I survived the NEXT update. That was a pain. But, after the screams, Sean promised never do an update which would destroy our work. And he hasn't. I will pre-order LNF the instant it is on PlayStation store.

I haven't returned to NMS after finishing the game and then hanging around for a couple of new ships and features but I like Campaigns and NMS doesn't have much of that.
The big update will be for No Man's Sky. The big summer update is due. I think it'll be called the Continental update and be focused on a planetary overhaul. I hope my bases don't get destroyed. It was a lot of work to get all of those resource collectors down.
Latest update for NMS (version 5.0) includes world tech that I think they are using in LNF.

Hello Games will not give us more info because if the fallout from the No Man's Sky launch. After that he learned his lesson and decided that the best thing to do is not give the hype train any fuel.

I think it's a great idea for game devs to wait until the game is almost completely before they announce it. That way we don't get another cyberpunk fiasco where the fans are rushing them to put the game out and they just release an unfinished game because of the pressure from the community
Of course is coming out than 40 years for now. I hate it when people say "oh is coming out sooner than you expect".

hmm...first time I've heard about the 3 earths things, Now it has me wondering if they will have procedural Earths and theme this game as parallel dimensions to justify the multiple Earths. Kinda like NoMansSky has procedural planets/solar systems in our Galaxy, LightNoFire could be procedural generated parallel universes of just Earths, creating its own "Earth Galaxy".🤔

wouldn't it be neat if the two games were combinable? like u can go to the LNF planet via glyph in NMS but its the actual game and u can visit ppl playing?
I'm pretty sure it's already in one of the universes of Nms but without details like buildings and settlements. I dont think we will get to visit the real planet though. Imagine the clash of a fully upgraded nms player with mechs landing in a world where people build houses of wood and rocks.
At the start, it will be an empty world. But I'm pretty sure it will get to be amazing when players start building cities. Imagine a community building hogwarts and such amazing places.
Would be interesting to have more story more dialogue, better combat systems, even if it’s not traditional linear…

i tried no mans sky at release , just couldn't get into it , had zero interest in it since.
but light no fire has me a little excited and with the way they have put the effort into fixing no mans skyu ill back this developer. i swore i'd never a preorder a game again since the fallout 76 fiasco , but this one, this is one I would definitely consider preordering. keeping my eye on it.
