Testing the Industry’s Most Popular Exhaust Systems for the Civic Si
Considered to be one of the first go-to upgrades, choosing the right aftermarket catback exhaust system is an important step in every car enthusiast’s upgrade path.
Each exhaust system on the market offers a unique sound character, hardware, looks, and affects the car’s performance differently. You simply can’t choose one exhaust for everyone.
While OEM technology has reached an extremely efficient level, providing almost no restrictions after the downpipe when using the stock turbocharger, replacing the factory system is almost a must for every car enthusiast - especially on the Civic Si. The Si is one of the quietest performance vehicles on the market today, with nearly no character in terms of sound.
We gathered 10 of the most popular exhaust systems on the market and put them through vigorous testing. This will give you the data you need to make a purchase whether you’re looking for sound, looks, power, or build quality out of your new exhaust.
We want to hear from you.

Underrated comment. I was hoping someone did this otherwise it was gonna be me that did it lol
A good video for the community.
Thank you, much appreciated
@@dsport I’m lost on what to do for my 18 civic Si. I want an exhaust but I want to be able to control the sound to some aspect. I like how the stock exhaust sounds when it’s just a chill day or night. I was thinking a dump valve. That map exhaust sounds so good though lol.
This is THE best exhaust video for the 10th gen civic on youtube. Thankyou for putting this together.
It's our pleasure. Thank you for watching.
@@dsport which one has the least drone in your opinion?
@@deezhen2496 MA Performance Stealth with twin mufflers was probably the quietest but HKS was close behind and sounded nicely
@@jamesmedina2062 I actually had map stealth and borla before my car got flooded, borla is no drone map stealth is drony af
@@deezhen2496 why would you have two different $1000exhaust systems?
HKS and MAP🔥
My exhact thoughts!!!!
Thank you for the awesome video! This is the best exhaust comparison video out there
Such a great and well put together video, good job man
I'm getting me a 2018 si today actually, I'm so excited
I’ve always loved Borla exhaust systems. Back in the day I had one for my 2003 g35 coupe sport and it was the best sounding exhaust in my town. But the greddy sounds good too
Yeah I really like the greddy my dad has a borla though and it sounds great
ATLP for the win, it has some of that old school sound to it; thanks for sharing.
That turbo sounds so good
Besides the greddy exhaust, what would you recommend for the quietest aftermarket exhaust? Had my eye on the remark exhaust, not too expensive, but still has fairly large piping and doesn't weight too much.
really like HKS and Remark. Thanks for doing this comparison. Wondering if the sound would be the same on the Sport Hatch
Which exhausts would you say had the least highway drone?
Awesome video, great explanation and most importantly keep up the good work .
excellent. just sent it to a friend in need. thank you!
Glad we can help, and thank you for sharing 🙏
Hello Sir good day, I would like to ask if catback exhaust system did not harm or damage the engine for the long run?
Thank you!! MAPerformance ftw
The turbo is insane good
Great vid. The graphs were a good idea
This video is soo well done .
Hi. Im getting skunk2 rr megapower. Resonated and 2muffler double barrel. How much do u think its db? Is it gonna be louder if I installed catted dp? Appreciate your response. Thanks!
@dsport any interior DB readings for the stock exhaust?
Thanks for this video. I definitely am sold on the 27won exhaust.
Great video and even better sounding car.
Still waiting on shift from 2nd to 3rd gear lol
Video of the Year.
The 27 won has the exact sound that im looking for!!🤤🔥🔥
No AWE Performance exhaust?
Thanks for the effort to show these options. I'm liking the MAP Race catback myself. Hmm
hi I have a 2017 civic touring with 1,5turbo I have dual muffler on each side do have some exhaust type I can have or I have to change the rear bumper and go to si type
Extremely helpful video. Any idea what the interior stock db are?
veewhy00 their the numbers on the bottom of the dB list
My vote for MAP street ! But currently still using stock exhaust 😓
Is this si stock besides the exhaust switches?
What other aftermarket parts are on this car?
HKS handsdown!!!
The 27won drools a lot.
If i need more horse power what you recomand ?
Did you guys happen to run them on the dyno? LOL just wondering about the little power difference
How much does stock weigh?
Great video!
Will si sedan exhaust fits on sport sedan?
Just came across this video and it’s a great video shows a lot of different exhaust you can get in the market. (even thou a few are left out)
I see you mentioned you had the map intake but I want to know how on earth you get the turbo to spool when parked I can’t get mine to do that lmao
LOL You just have to be heavy-footed lol
@@dsport lol I guess I’ll try it one of these days to see if I can hear it haha
@@rhinos4631 haha good luck!
MagnaFlow is the most underrated exhaust… too bad it wasn’t tested here.
Do you know if any of these exhaust/ axle back would fit a 2020 Honda Civic sport 2.0in
Nope
Invidia and first two Map's sound like the best ones for me. Just out of curiosity, does anyone know if the Civic in the video has any other mods that would affect the exhaust sound? (bov, different turbo, or anything), or is it stock, excluding the exhaust?
He said he has a cold air kit on it
Gaming Clips I’m pretty sure it’s not a cold air kit. The intake on MA Performance for civic si’s wasn’t a cold air I thought. Unless I’m wrong🤔
This video is amazings😊
This is pretty cool. Would have been funny to see a Lightning cable exhaust XD
My favorite was the HKS
can you use a civic si exhaust on a civic sport?
The greddy and map street😍😍
I have the HKS Hi power and i really like it
Running the Borla and really love it!
Does it drone?
@@davidwallace3071 not at all. I have posted a vid on my channel for that. The cold start is extremely nice
Are these with stock Dp
Do you guys know the DB on the full race exhaust?
Afe takada exhaust is nice. It’s not on the list but it’s the deeper than all these. Closer to a wrx sound
Magnaflow sounds amazing for these cars
They all sound good but I honestly like the sound of stock muffler delete better. IMO
#dsport @dsport What's your favorite ... ??? please be honest ... just can't believe how expensive these exhaust systems are crazy for a muffler and pipe... crazy some of these companies are asking over $1,000.
I just bought me an awe touring for my Si
What intake do you have?
I just installed the hks, it sounds so good!
Did you just do cat back
Yeah
@@HI_grade did the engine performance change?
@@jamesmedina2062 i installed the hks exhaust and the 27 won cold air intake. I can feel a little more power but its not real noticeable, you need to get a good tune to really get the most out of the engine. But it definitley makes it more fun to drive with more exhaust and turbo sounds.
@@HI_grade hell yah bro. I built my Supersprint exhaust and it has 70mm center resonator and a small 9 inch oval can in the back. Sounds better and for my car it helps it breath over 3k rpm
Are these all installed with the stock front pipe/ down pipe?
They all came with their catback system. Everything after the down pipe
Porque tiran agua los escapes?
anyone know why they stopped producing the map stealth exhaust?
Would love to see how dB levels compare with muffler delete and or resonator delete.
I tuned my sport touring hatch to 250 torque 235hp, these sounds are on stock Si’s? I should be assuming a more aggressive sound for each of these clips had they been on my car. Idk which to go with
aftermarket intake and cat back exhausts so Sport Touring is quieter because turbo design and smaller intake pipes
all of these are for the sedan not the coupe, which I have. Do they sound about the same for a coupe?
Yes the cars are the same coupe is just better looking lol
Is there a reason why the AWE was not part of the test?
Awesome video, but that has got to be the loudest transition song in the world hahaha watch out if you’re wearing earbuds
What Intake Did this Car had ? Could hear the turbo spool!?
It's an MA Performance cold air intake with a Green Filter on it.
After researching insurance quotes this is probably the only performance car I can afford next so just getting research done just in case
anyone receive the skunk 2 exhaust yet for the 10th gen. Want to hear what that sounds like before i pull the trigger.
Borla has good sound and is decently loud so that’s my pick
How about a Dyno test on all 10 exhaust?
I’m between greddy & borla but idk greddy sound just as good for a steal honestly 🤷🏽♂️🤝
Invidia and hks sound the best to me
Can you do one for the hyundai elantra gt nline. Thanks
HKS and MAP Race/Street sound the best
totally agree
how loud is the invidia compared to a muffler delete
Invidia isn't super loud. Sounds a lot better than muffler delete in my opinion.. I love my invidia
Would of any of these fit on a 2019 Honda Civic sport sedan with a 2.0 liter non turbo I can’t find anything for it
These systems are for the Civic Si. It wouldn't fit because it's an entirely different engine.
Hold out on buying an exhaust for your sedan, the cost for the sound you get wont be worth it. Save the money for the next whip or pay that one down more.
Would love to see this video with catless setups
catless is not legal
@@jamesmedina2062 people still go catless regardless...lmao
@@keanbeaan Yeah I get it, like disposable wipes or diapers. I plan to keep my car for longer than 1 year. I will not have to deal with check engine lights. I will be able to breath the air with my windows down. Modern cats allow for plenty of flow and keep the noise reasonable.
@@jamesmedina2062 lol
what has been done to the car?
Awesome video! This sold me on an exhaust to replace the HDMI port. 🤣
The 27won sounds great. Just the price knocks me back. But maybe one day
Hey I was thinking the same thing but I got some one in my area selling one for about 800 you think that price is worth it ? I’m kinda on the fence if I wanna get it or not
@@flacko2476 for that price id probably get it. Power wise exhaust arent doing much. But its all about the sound
@flacko2476 currently riding to get one for 600😂
@@offensivedemon see thats a deal. Id pay $600 for one.
Hope you enjoy it
@xile6 hoping for it! Dude said it has like 15k miles on it so I can't complain for the pricd
Remark is the best bang for your buck imo
I thought that one sounded the best. I've never heard of them until now.
Hks affordable and 🔥🔥🔥
Cat back straight pipe is the best setup for these cars. Sounds like it would be obnoxious but it sounds so good
too loud for people around you i would think. with catless its also way too much drone
What air intake did you have on when testing these?
It's a MA Performance air intake.
DSPORT thanks man. It sounds great!
What intake is the car running on
It's the MA Performance intake
Can you guys tell me why #Injen wasn't included in this review? Asking for a friend. And I did just order that Injen exhaust. Will be delivered in a couple of weeks ☺️
At the time of testing, it was likely not available.
@@dsport copy that guys. Thanks 👍
Add 10-20 decibels after it breaks in haha. Especially with idle
Surprised you didn't try it with no muffler on one of the setups.
The MAP Race had no mufflers.
what intake system does this civic have? I want to get an AWE exhaust setup with a nice intake system to hear the "whoosh" and spool up turbo aesthetics
Our Si is equipped with the MA Performance intake
I see the forgotten exhaust its civic type r with 2 tips and 1 for intake exhaust
I stepped out on a limb and threw together a custom pipe on my civic. I got 3'' pipe with a Vibrant Resonator to a magna flow Y pipe to 3.5 inch tips. It sounds better than some name brands for a fraction of the cost. SOUND VIDEO ON MY CHANNEL!
Jesus I had no idea civic si were this quiet

Any difference from race/street MAP exhaust?
Get race if you want a it louder and get street if you want it deeper. I personally went for street since i rather go for deep sounds than loudness also no drone if you get street
do the ARK and greedy DDR please!!
HKS FTW!!!
😂🙏
Do you have the HKS?
@@dsport No sir, I don't. 😑 But based off of the specs and sound from the video it's FTW! I enjoy my stock ep3 at the moment ✌️
Where’s that foo Vincent At
