nice video. once i got used to original trucks, riding anything else just feels stiff and restricted. havent tried any other spring loaded trucks though so i cant compare. all i know is i wont be getting rid of my derringer 28 any time soon.
@@TopDonBarrow I use it to get to and from classes as well as just crusing. Perfect for cities as you can turn super sharp and carving is super fun even on narrow paths. Forget the penny board and get the Derringer!
I have "s10" original trucks with softest springs (black) on their "pintail 46" deck and it rides great! They has almost zero center play (but i drove only about 10 miles on them). And yes, the bad thing is that i need to relube my trucks almost after every ride (russian roads are very dusty now, in spring). Original trucks gives you a strange feeling at first, but when you ride them a bit - you will like them!
The seismic can be used for LDP in the back. if my memmory serves. The original, i agree with all you say and your theories about lighter springs is the same as my experience i got all three springs. The plastic cams did breake eaven quicker with the lighter springs aswell, yes with the red springs they can breake in minutes.... love your videos!

it's a shame that all of these trucks had major issues with maintenance. always love kooky ones like this, tried all other than nuclear pickles. also really like Revenge trucks but the tabs would break off them. I'm also pretty sure that's the Landyachtz DH race not the evo. still love these analysis videos man. really appreciate the thought your videos often generate in my head after watching :)
Ah yes. Definitely not the Evo. I'm not sure why the Seismic should be particularly high maintenance though. My impression was that they were lower maintenance trucks.
hey so I'm trying to build a double drop down longboard deck out of 1/8 in birch and fiberglass as the laminator and i was wondering if cutting the fiberglass after it is dry going to affect the quality at all, or should i concave the decks then add the fiberglass to precut pieces of the longboard.
I am thinking about buying the seismic trucks I was wondering when you rode them did they really propel you forward during the pump would love to know. Similar to say a Carver board with the CX trucks
Angelo DiPierro yes in theory they do ive owned a set and they are amazing the way the 2 springs are set give good rebound for pumping. When u bu siezmic trucks make shure u get the correct springsfor your weight . i also recommend that if u are just pumping that u get stronger springs in the back and lighter in the front and have a board with a shorter wheels base and make shure there both the 45s
I have the seismic trucks and I'm absolutely baffled by them. I can't figure out why my board doesn't turn no matter how much I lean. I've tried loosening/tightening the kingpin and nothing happens. I've tried loosening and tighenting the two small pins that connect to the springs and same thing, no turns. I've read the reviews for them and everyone says good things about them but I absolutely hate then for the fact that I can't make them turn, making them useless. Any help would be appreciated.
You're a Dork IF You 'Loosen' the Pivot Pin!! So, Just DON'T Do THAT!! The two 'set-screw' adjustments are the way to change spring resistance, but the truck will only 'lean' so-far. So, if you're "fighting" the spring Tension, You need Softer Springs. Also, as previously noted, using Proper Wedges can greatly Alter turn-in response. "PSR"
Springs are indestructible, right? So in terms of maintenance, these would be better than bushing trucks??? Your description of Original's lean behavior sounds like having higher duro roadside bushings and lower duro boardside bushings on a normal RKP truck. Or maybe just like having a raked hanger flipped on RKP's (which makes it feel like crap IMO). For the Nuclear Pickle, I think you could CNC your own deep-drop-brackets to mount them on the ends of topmount bricks?
Not indestructible. The number of cycles they can handle is dependent on how much strain they get. Getting a lot of resistance in a small package is going to mean more strain, and fewer cycles. That's the reason why spring trucks tend to provide weaker resistance than bushings. Its just impractical to fit that much resistance in a spring so small. Stiffer springs probably will fatigue and need replacing after too long, where as the weaker springs you can get might not need to be replaced pretty much ever. I can't say for sure what that effect is on these trucks, but I do know it was a very difficult problem on the two spring truck designs I have worked on.
What about cars' coil springs? Are they indestructible? They don't seem to need replacement for the lifetime of any car (unless changing them for shorter ones for lowering purposes); it's the shocks/struts that blow out and need replacement regularly.
Nick Amarit Springs compress over time and get shorter. I’m no sure how this affects the springs of a car, but the G5 springs will definitely compress over time and will have to be replaced. The advantage is that Seismic offers springs in 7 different strengths which means you can use the same board for different disciplines by simply changing the springs.

have you ever tried flipping the back truck around, its makes you pump faster right
on the website it says you're tightening the truck too much(cams tightened past flush) that's why they break 90% of the time.

I have springs that rise above my deck.. they have a dragon on them but I can't find them online anywhere.

Pivot angle is probably your issue... try using an angled riser pad.

Nah i have seismics on my longboard they cant really turn. They do ride over hard dirt but they're not that fun when you cant do 90° turns
Your seismics may have too light a tension!
A broken original truck cam sucks. They ride so well, you'll know the second you break that cam. The board goes dead.
