Being able to pull the shim for taller bushings is huge, as I like the big greens in the back. Still experimenting with different rake settings. I like the adjustability. More tools in the 'handling adjustment tool box' in a sense. 😁

I saw Liam Morgan and was astonished at how someone who came into the spotlight when still young and in high school has grown up so much (started to feel old cuz of that). The minute he said "Owner of Caliber Trucks" my jaw hit the friken floor. When and how did that happen? Also, great improvements to the trucks. I gotta get a new set now.
I got a Comet Ethos 38 back in 2012 or '13 with Caliber 2s. It never felt right skating the shorter (for me) 24" wheelbase. This year I decided to finally try the narrower truck life picked up a set of the 9" Caliber 3s raked to throw on the old board. WOW.... Cal3s are probably the best cast truck you can buy, honestly probably trading punches with precisions. The plug bushing adds some serious stability and control. My main setup is 47* k5s on a larger 27" wb single kick. Skated the same setup for like 6 years now. However this new 24" WB board that I've never really enjoyed skating is quickly becoming my main. Really think the Calibers unlocked it's true potential. I'm excited to try more 22 - 25" WB boards since the 9" Cal 3r just feel so amazing on them. Good job making an amazing product that's getting me hyped to skate again.

The rake really does add a feeling of flow and helps with connecting carves and being able to carve harder and deeper, it will feel like your style is improving if you've never used a rake truck before.

I run plug inserts in my Bear's and they're great. I'm hoping the Caliber are the same, but with a closed bushing seat to have the option of skating a great truck with an open bushing seat and a great truck with closed bushing seat, both being raked offering that same kind of greatness. Also looking forward to comparison against my Valkyrie MK3 which I find are still somehow comparable to/against cast trucks. I'm a little nervous about the shim for it being the major difference in the baseplates, but there should be a way to make that go away should I want to ride short barrels without it even with the recess for it stamped with no major complications so it's not too big a concern. and better than that the option for Tall Barrels exists to compare to Tall Barrel trucks moreso. Hopefully there's a way to extend the kingpin without harming the baseplate for use BS and RS for the thought of it making more sense, should the thought arise when/of changing out the bushings at all. They'll also be my first set of 90a Venom Bushings as I've primarily ridden Riptide until recently and find the Venom urethane to be a good kind of squishy with a little more give prior to their true duro being felt with the compression of the bushings themselves. They're weird, but nice. I'm also hoping the urethane pivot cup matches in quality to other urethane pivot cups so I don't find need to purchase a WFB, but that's probably going to be one of those things I have to overcome for the thought existing from previous experience with any OEM pivot cups I've ridden more than a quality thing. although the thought could be with reason as well. I should know within the next twelve hours or so when my package arrives. I don't believe I'll be disappointed for having watched their performance in the video I'm commenting on now and their seeming to be used on all their trucks and believing it to be accurate moreso for their telling of what parts they used for their clips. Sorry for the length of comment. No offense in comparing Caliber to another company either. Both make great trucks. I've ridden Bear more for at least seeming to like the rake more and even mixed a non raked closed seated Caliber 2 in the rear with their open seated raked truck in the front for a fairly unique feel close to flipping their hanger in the rear when skating split 50/40, but different at the same time. Good trucks are good trucks.

positive rake = more turn, surfy feeling, negative rake = low ride height, stability, and less turn. you can get either by flipping the hanger on the Cal III R.
