Thanks for the education on these. I came across a set in great condition and figured I'd throw them on a long board cruiser just for a nostalgic old school type thing or for the uniqueness at the very least. When I went to mount them I quickly realized these trucks looked very familiar and I remember in the 70's a truck that was high dollar and used in downhill record setting called the Stroker . Not really the same in principle but it's reminiscent in the looks department. Anyway they ride alright and suite the purpose I put a deck together with them . Thanks again for the video much appreciated..

super super helpful and thorough vid. I'm super thankful you all did this. I was thinking about these trucks as they were on sale online now. I might pass on them. They seem to have more lean than turn. Really cool though on how everything was explained.

Have you tried wedging them to change lean/steering characteristics?

So. Bottom line. If I want to get the most enjoyment and performance out of the seismic trucks; I 'have to' go with a 45 degree front, and the
30 degree rear set up? Because I already have two 30's (front and rear) and I'm still not quite dialed in. Please answer. Thanks.

Same. I have the 30s and I haven't figured out how to loosen them. No matter how much I lean it doesn't turn regardless if I to or loosen them. By any chance do you have the same issue?

Hi guys and thanks for the overview. I'm currently riding a frankenboard for surf carving that you can see here:
    th-cam.com/video/WHJI_6g-K60/w-d-xo.html
I have a modified Avenue Suspension truck on the front that is now a swivel truck and not a pivot truck anymore. This gives me a much lighter carving truck with excellent motion and range.
On the back I'm currently running an Avenue Suspension with hard Bones bushing for rebound and energy return and was wondering if you think a G5-30 Seismic would pump better? I'm a little worried about Seismic product though as I had a set of Tekton 6 balls and 4 of them where screwed straight out of the pack.
As such I have also been looking at the Original S6 or S8 but keep coming back to the seismic due to issues I've heard of with the wave cams on the Originals.
Would appreciate any thoughts you might have?

That looks like an incredible front truck there, especially for the weight.
If it was down to just seismics vs originals, Id say seismics hands down.
First off they're going to be lighter, and won't need a huge riser like originals are designed to need.
Second is that wave cam issue, seismics are much more robust.
I'm trying to think of other alternatives, but rear pumping trucks aren't my strong suit.
Going back and reading some old discussions I am seeing the seismic 30* being recommended for that though.

Thanks for the reply guys, I have modified the truck you looked at originally and it is shown here:
      th-cam.com/video/2N3I8LO6qmc/w-d-xo.html
Works better than the original springs as the longer springs do not fatigue as quickly due to over tension and stretch.
Yeah it's a very light surf style truck vs. others in the market that use complex adaptors etc to achieve a similar effect. Being light weight it allows quicker response to input, a bit like the difference between a VW beetle and a Porsche.
Progressive spring resistance is controlled by the thickness of the spring wire, spring OD and No. of coils.
Snap back to centre is controlled by pre-tension or initial stretch on the spring.
Still looking at a Seismic for my rear setup but most likely be a 45 deg so as to not loose the turning. Will be modifying to a 140mm hanger width, fitting a thrust bearing on the wear pad and hanger to avoid friction, and using my own design Double D 78/90 wheels.

In reading your post Im thinking from what you wrote you're going for a ride that is close to surfing and you modified your trucks to achieve that , well to a certain extent. If you're goal is to

Emulate surfing then there's a truck that was developed , engineered and perfected by a group of guys in San Diego who all surf and have their entire life . These trucks have had a lot of thought out into them and when you ride them it's evident from your first turn... They'll turn as fast as you're able to handle not pitching yourself off or because the instant tight radius turn you want to step off because it's not a sensation you've accustomed yourself to. Unlike a lot of the trucks out there that have you riding high off the ground these are and feel no different than riding a standard truck because they're the same . Keeping the lower center of gravity is great in many ways I'm sure you get this. They don't require risers because there's no need , although the turning capabilities are instant and tight they've been engineered to allow specific movement to a point that easily surpasses most others out there. Once you've got some speed you're able to gyrate your rear foot and keep speed up without kicking far more than anything else out there . The feeling is instant reminding you of the fluidity of surfing with your turns quick and shallow or instant deep and sharp your able to cut back in a turn to the point you'll snap the board back under you to maintain that same effect as in the water. If you're looking for a fun closeness on a skate deck as being in the water you need to given these trucks a try . They're quality is there and the costs are fair not being expensive or over priced the value is there . There's one draw back , isn't there always ! Because the performance is in the ride and maneuverability they are not down hill trucks and hauling ass down hill until you're used to them speed wabble is guaranteed. The company's called Revenge you get a set from Select Distribution in Costa Mesa CA.
I feel these will open up a entirely new experience on a skate card that's as close to the feel of surfing as it gets on land.

this trucks - shit. aluminium surface destroy momentary. this is the construction of a basement bushman, not an engineer
