    I was basically very weak at Maths because of not stronger basics & shifting school every year. When I was about to write my 12th boards , I was studying in a boarding school in Salem, my mom took me to the temple in Namakal to see Namagiri thayar & asked me to pray. She told the same thing as mentioned in the Video. Later on I got 75 percent in boards, took up MBA finance, gold medalist, joined banking sector, moved abroad & now working in one of the leading banks here, life was full of numbers which I hated so much for no reason once upon a time. It feels so nostalgic ❤

      In fact Ramanujam was the first man to crack binamial theory of expansion in algebra with least explanation solutions using very least variable factors. The fission and Fusion technology of Nuclear physics depend on this theory. The same theory of expansion is used to calculate expansion of energy from black hole and Milky way stars including sun running in universe . This wat he is far ahead of his times and he was the Pguru of people like Bhabha, Sethna, Sir C V Raman and Sarat Chandra Bose elder bro of Netaji etc.

    when we were supposed to have about these legends in history, we had a small description like 5-6 lines in MATHS TEXTBOOK.

    Just look at his thought process. When he was a young boy some one asked him what is
    1+2+3+4+5+6+7+8+10
    He instantly gave the ans 55.
    And his approach was he first doubled it
    1+2+3+4+5+6+7+8+9+10
    10+9+8+7+6+5+4+3+2+1
    Then added individually
    11+11+11.......10 times = 110
    And then divided by 2 and gave the ans 55.
    Sum of n natural numbers is n(n+1)/2. And here n is 10.
    Edit: You forgot to mention about his another mind bending discovery. Imagine if someone out of the blue told you that
    1+2+3+4...upto infinity = -1/12
    Thats "Ramanujan paradox" cuz sum of positive no here is a negative no. Mathematicians couldn't wrap their heads around this one. But this formula became useful years later.

    The one thing surprized me is..he is a Brahmin ..and died in poverty even though he is meritorious..
    In the same years ambedkar got so much support by others ...and became popular ..
    Still people talk about descrimination ,racism..faced by ambedkar
    But the actual person who suffered in the society ...is a Brahmin only..

      In Tamil Nadu there were many brahmins who were very poor at those days.
      In those days people were very religious and tolerated poverty.
      Like it or not due to Periyars anti religious propoganda all brahmins began to concentrate on their studies and work and they became financially better.
      In fact you will find quite a few Brahmins here who support Periyar.

    Ma'm I am very interested in math.. Ramanujan and Aryabhatta are my idols.. I started learning abacus in grade 1.. . and completed learning vedic math too.. Now in grade 8, everyone calls me Aryabhatta because of my perfect performance in every test.. Thank u for this awesome vid mam

    Our school had 4 clubs and 1 club was named by the name of srnivas ramanujan ...I was in 6th standard when I got to know about his name ... I searched about him a lot... I was not interested in maths before 6th and after searching alot about him .. I tried my best to study maths and soon I started loving maths... I give credit to him and my junior maths teacher Ms.Rama for developing love for mathematics in a math phobic person❤❤❤thankyou srinivas ramanujan .. india is proud of you ❤

      Top 5? Sure. But I would say the greatest is either Euler or Gauss. Its incredibly hard to say who is the greatest honestly, they have all played a pivotal role in contributing to mathematics.

    It's kinda disrespectful to say that he had no idea what these formulas meant. He was a genius and he has meticulously recorded every result in his three notebooks.

    Most Mathematicians usually come with concepts ,Theorems ,Mathematics .
    Ramanujan was a inspiration to all Mathematicians.

    No one explains all this at school
    They just give us a project in maths
    - write the life history of any two Indian mathematicians
    One is aryabhatta and other in sreenivasa ramanuja Iyengar (we did not know any other Indian mathematician. No one bothered to tell us that there were innumerable great mathematicians in our country)
    We got this project repeated for more than 3 years continuously😢
    We used to copy as it is In wikipedia and write in A4 sheets and stick colour pictures , draw huge margins. And submit it
    That's why we Bharathiyans don't care about our history, our scientists and learned men
    All we want is a validation from the west
    THIS MUST CHANGE

    Calculus was discovered by Madhava of Sangamgrama, who was the founder of Kerala school of mathematics in the 14th century, 200 years before Newton and Leibniz claimed to have invented calculus (miraculously at the same time).

    The goddess Namagiri thaayar trades off his short-lived life in exchange for his genius and extraordinary mind. Ramanujan was a great genius whose influence is still there today.
