  • Whether we like it or not, cinema plays a significant role in our lives. We are highly being influenced by cinema. We as a society evolved in so many ways because of cinema.
Cinema has normalized a lot of things which are once considered a taboo.
But the same cinema is now normalizing things, which shouldn’t be normalized in any society.
This video is about a serious issue that Bollywood is silently doing and is being normalized in the society in the name of feminism.

@Keerthihistory Keerthi, you are the perfect example of Feminism. Women Empowerment is the real Feminism. Feminism means not a woman having sex whenever she wants with whomever she likes, and the same is being projected as a woman's boldness. Deciding not to give birth to kids is not Feminism. Feminism means motherhood. Feminism means giving birth and raising a responsible and good species or next generation. Feminism means fighting for basic rights like education, right to speak, or express, right to dress and food, right to say no to sex whenever she is not ready and so on...., which were the rights not given for our mothers (previous generations). Feminism means being independent both mentally and financially. Feminism means teaching our kids to respect and protect women and treat women equally. Women are a rare species around which the whole world revolves. Let's protect women. Obviously, they will take care of our next generation. Women are the great nurturers.

It has been in my brain and my peoples' brains also. Don't even watch any bollywood movies. These people are criminals and so don't pay your hard earned money to these criminals. For example, while they showed the bad effect of cheating in gehrayeeyon, they also showed all nudity there. While they showed how this girl did not like a thappad and revolted, they did not show how she may have frustrated her husband & so there also they showed this girl as victim without talking about what the man has gone through. So, Feminism in the current form is fully bad and should be shunned. Bollywood should be shunned and boycotted.

However, she doesn't continue the cheating knowing that it is morally wrong but also gives birth to a son who’s raised by a duplicitous man who himself cheated on his wife multiple times but got his ego hurt when she did the same and he raised the consequence. It is how infedility should be tackled on screen with nuances instead of celebrating or glorifying it in the name of boldness or success or alpha manhood) 🎉

No one should be surprised, for 2 decades now at least Bollywood has been pushing western liberal 4th wave feminism which values women being sluts, cheating on men with no remorse, dressing provocatively, not wearing traditional cultural clothes, rejecting religion for capitalism and narcissism and very self-obsessed Hollywood vapid culture. They then play these movies that encourages this across our Villages in North India corrupting our girls. There is a reason now North Indian women are stereotyped as loose, shrill and slutty not just in rest of India but even in other countries. A lot of this propaganda is pushed by Bollywood heroines who have been rich all their lives, only attended western schools, only watch western media and obsess over western celebs. Nowadays only Viraat content coming out of India is coming from Kannada, Tamil and Telugu industries, Malayalam and Punjabi industries are good too but often have some of the same problems as Bollywood. Also even more recently their has been a push in Bollywood to normalize LGBTQ content which is okay but they are pushing too far. LGBTQ only make up 2% of India population at last census but are shown in almost every Bollywood movie now as if they are 1/4th the population. Think about how North Indian actresses' dress for award shows or movies, they are nearly naked, rarely wearing Indian fashion but instead western American clothes, while in South Indian award shows all the women are in sarees. In South Indian movies the women are portrayed and praised for being chaste, intelligent, fierce to strangers and loving to her close ones, In Bollywood women are objectified in bikinis, slathered in oil, shown being sex crazed wanting to bang many men, cheating remorselessly and made the victim for it and bossy/rude with everyone.

Hate the characters, not feminism . It is so stupid to correlate badly written characters with feminism. Freedom of cinema can produce movies like animal portraying problematic nature of man. So problematic nature of women can also be shown on screen. It is an individual thing not a feminist issue or a gendered one. Her entire video is picking up problematic characters portrayed by women which arent supposed to be idolised or deemed as symbols of feminism. But we as an audience lack the maturity to understand that human nature is at times corrupt and isnt gender restricted. She gave the example of Tara from MIH who was a cunning and corrupt woman who exploited and blackmailed people for her own selfish needs. Now why is this even remotely close to feminism? How is this even related? Not like men and women in out country are already supportive about feminism, such misleading videos give them another reason to hate the entire feminist movement. Call it poor writing or artistic choice or bad direction but dont drag feminism here. Women are not saints or innately good. Power can corrupt anyone. Its like accepting that only good natured women should be shown on screen. God forbid if they show a woman as a villain the entire feminist movement gets a bad name.

And they don't have to be. Why should every story where a woman is the protagonist viewed as a feminist story? Some stories are darker, that show the lives of problematic women. There are so many people without morals irrespective of their gender, while they aren't someone we idealize they do make up for really interesting albeit messed up stories to watch.
Like Tara in Made in Heaven, she was never portrayed as someone who is to be idealised and followed, she was always portrayed as problematic, she is money minded and is someone who can go to any extents to get what she wants. Is she our ideal? Hell no. But it's interesting to see how her money minded mom raised her and persuaded her to use her body and beauty to get ahead in life, how she drilled into Tara that she can never be happy without extravagant amounts of money so she no longer can lead her life without money and always finds things lacking with a normal guy who is well to do but not rich.

One thing I definitely agree that cheating of any kind purposely is immoral.. cheating, sexual harassments etc are wrong... But you are completely wrong in saying that bold woman is portrayed always having sex... But hold men are PORTRAYED always doing courageous works .. that's not true .. the reality is we see sexual liberation of women automatically about women's sexual availability to men but not when the gender reversed..not vice versa... We don't see sexual liberation of men as their sexual availability services to women... The sexual power dynamics in your head too is quite patriarchally brainwashed. Women are the the service provider who gives sex and men who consumes or enjoy it. Hence you have problem with strong and hold women doing anything brave but except having sexual freedom on their choice and bodily autonomy. It's not that strong hold male characters don't have sex whenever they want.. but you don't see men serving to women as sex objects when men execute sexual freedom or autonomy or desires...but you see only women having sexual desires as sex object... So by default you don't see strong men having sex all the time as problem and you say it doesn't exist ..and you don't see strong women doing every brave acts but only having sex because that's your problem... Women can be freed on all aspects but not sex... You drag sexual objectification here .. when male character have sex or exercise sexual freedom to you call out male sexual objectification? Are not you confusing between female sexual freedom and sexual objectification? How will then women become actually sexually free? By not having or giving up sex? That's the only way?
