Hi new player on the switch here. Thanks for the video, I didn't know each galaxy had slightly different prominent themes. I've only been to Eissentam through the featured bases in the portal, and I'm looking forward to someday crossing over into a 'weird' one. Cheers.
Welcome aboard! Yeah it can be fun later game to explore other galaxies. Since you don't have multiplayer on switch you can't use the taxi method to hitch a ride with someone to a new galaxy so you will need to go through the core. One trick that I believe should work on switch is the 1st glyph portal trick. Just find a portal on any planet of a galaxy you want to get down to the center off. Next use only the first glyph (sunset) all the way across. This will drop you in a an approximate destination but it always puts you close to the center, depending on your hyper drive usually less than 10 jumps from the core.
So far I am in 2 galaxies of Euclid and Eissentam. And setup bases on many worlds where I can jump between galaxies. I think need to try for a third, perhaps use the portal shortcut mentioned here to use the first glyph.
There are actually way more Galaxies, there is 256, 257 and there was a 258 as well as negative galaxies. You can't get to any of those through untricky means. I think all have been visited. There are people who can taxi you to any galaxy you want. I personally have base computers in galaxies 1-20 and I have 1 base in 30 and one more in galaxy 256. There should be an easier way to travel between galaxies after you get out of Euclid, like maybe a portal to difrent galaxies but only when you leave Euclid
Actually the glyphs will put you in similar locations, but the location is different Spoilers But Apollo references this, you gave him the glyph to the planet ur on. You didnt confirm what galexy he was in, assuming hes in Euclid with you
Using the anomaly is a pretty easy way around the difficulties that come with portalling. But realistically if you repeat yhe same glyph in each star system it'll teleport you within 10k of the center. To continually swap galaxies. Jusy need the extra star ships to crash or money to buy one before you go threw the portal. Scrappers don't care if the ship is broke lol.

When i changed galaxy location, my way was to put all commodaties into my freighters storage units and then change multitool to a lower type never used and not rated up for this reason, also made sure all items needed on arival to new galaxy where in tech or cargo and NOT general as these are screwed, next frieghtered to the near planet and from their use a lesser ship to go to said next new galaxy and when their, i just call up my frieghter and then call up a starship re unit my best multitool and get to the first spacestation then buisness as usuall and then repeat as and when, great video nice, thanks...
That would be so cool. Then to find you perfect ship/multitool you would need 8,000 hours of play time. This would be a cool idea if the way to travel between galaxies was easier. However since the only way to travel to galaxy 200 is to travel THROUGH the first 199, this would absolutely ruin the variety the game has.

Yes, you can easily use a portal in a space station for example to portal back to your base. You don't need to build an actual base if you don't want as long as you leave a base computer you can warp back even if you have no portal built there.

You said that you don't lose anything but that your stuff takes damage so take a cheap class C ship. Does this mean that you can still call any of your other ships or will they also be damaged?
Only the ship you are currently using gets damaged so yes you can immediately call down one of your good ships. Normally what I do is use a junk ship, after I get through the core and my suit is broken I warp in a good ship and fly up to my freighter to fix my suit and multitool.
I haven't been able to enter the core. Iv'e made sure all my engines were fueled up, warped to the closest planet and tried to enter to core following the instructions I've seen on steam and confirmed by youtube videos.
Are you able to see the core? What exactly happens when you try to warp to it? When you are one jump away it will show a direct line to the core, at that point you need to make sure hyperddrive is full then you just follow the galaxy map. You do need to hold the button longer than normal to warp through the core. Here is a clip of me doing it from a live stream take a look and make sure you aren't missing anything th-cam.com/video/jQWAa2KXXcQ/w-d-xo.html If it still doesn't work it could be a bug, maybe report it.
Is there any upgrades to your Ships hyperdrive? Because I had the same problem with me trying to enter a new galaxy with the starter ship. It wouldn't let me but when I used my living ship(with about 3 hyperdrive upgrades) it worked
No damage to freighter or items in it. There are not new races in new galaxies. The only difference between galaxies is the planet ratio meaning some galaxies are heavy on beautiful lush planets while others are heavy on stormy planets and then you have galaxies like the one you start in which are kind of even across the board.
Im confused. So i just started the game. If i go to galaxy map, i can hop from spot to spot. Are those galaxies im hopping to? Or just solar systems? I can zoom WAAAAYYY out. When i zoom out and see all those points, is that all within one galaxy, or are all those points galaxies?
I have been trying to visit galaxies using base links in the portal, but they keep coming up as "Cannot Load" am I doing something wrong or are those bases perhaps deleted?
Any idea how many systems are in a galaxy? I would say a lot, since euclid has 90% of playeractivity and 9 out of 10 jumps im first to discover the system.
It is a huge number, there are 256 galaxies in total with over 18 quintillion planets. Each system has 2 to 6 planets or so. Not sure the exact amount per systems per galaxy but it is a massive number. It would take many years to see all planets in just 1 galaxy. If you go down towards the galactic core of a galaxy you are more likely to find discovered systems that have bases in them.
@@XxiouGames Saying the number of systems is massive is quite the understatement. I did a quick calculation (had to use a special online tool because the number is too big for the normal calculator). But very roughly speaking, If you visited a million systems per day, assuming an average of 4 planets per system, it would take you 5 million years to fully explore one galaxy (also assuming the systems are equally distributed among the galaxies). From the point of view of an average player, the planets in this game are effectively infinite.
Early on when I was new to the game this was my plan, to get bases in the center of galaxies. I quickly learned the center of the galaxy isn't much fun. You will mostly find a bunch of old abandoned bases. I have actually been exploring the exact opposite of the core and on the outer edge of the galaxy. I have found a lot more cool stuff on outer edge than I ever have in the center.
@@XxiouGames The nature of the simulation is that it does not matter where you are the moment you jump into a new system it is created based on procedural rules. Some physicists claim it is true about our reality too.
Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comment. Yes, unfortunately every time you go through the center of a galaxy your tech that is not in the tech part of your suit & ship breaks. It really isn't that bad, takes like 10 minutes or so to repair it all. You can make that time quicker by using a spare ship and multitool. Also stock up on repair kits as they can make the repairs go much quicker.
Just find a Gate and Klick allways the Same Symbol. The Gamesystem send you to a System ~ 5500 light year near to Galaxy middelpoint becouse it Looks for next best Gate.
Do you have one of the "storm" galaxies. I personally hate paradise planets. I LOVE thr variety of stormy onr.....some have volcanos. Others blizzards.....love that!
Correct. You keep everything. You just need to repair, ship, suit, and multitool. Once you are in a new galaxy you can easily return to the one you came from by using the portal in the space station to port back to one of your bases. Just make sure you put down a base computer in the new galaxy so you have a way back without having to go through the core again. Thanks for watching.
I find it stupid that switching galaxies breaks everything in your ship and multitool. It's the reason that keeps me from exploring new galaxies because it's tedious and punishing to do. I really love this game but even after all the updates the game is still miles wide but only an inch deep. It's too bad HG continually looses focus on fleshing out what is already there instead of just adding more new, but empty content.
Its hardly an option nowedays not sure about a year ago, by finishing the story it auto warps you to 2nd galexy 😂 i was not happy no warning no nothing
SPOILER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have started a month ago and I did chose to refuse to reset the simulation thinking that I'd lose access to the Anomaly + all the friends I play with, since they are in the first Galaxy, but what does it change if I reset the simulation and choose one of the other galaxies? Can I still see players flying around, their bases, etc? I refused but the mission is still open and it tells me that I can reset if I change my mind, changing the Galaxy is like resetting the atlas? I saw some videos, but nobody goes to space, etc. Do Gek, Vy'keen and Korvax still exist? What about the Anomaly?
You don't lose anything by going to a new galaxy, many of us play in multiple galaxies. Once you get to a new galaxy you can use the portal in the space station or your base to portal back to your base in the any other galaxy you were in provided you put down a base computer. One thing to know *SPOILER If you reset and go to a new galaxy when you get to that new galaxy all the tech in your suit, multitool, and ship will be broken so you need to be ready for that. Aside from that it is no big deal to be established in multiple galaxies as you can always portal back.

@@ethanwilson617yeah June 2023
Wait there’s more than 1 galaxy… my mind is literally f****ng blown… this game is so awesome!! So legendary
Sick video bro. RIP traveler.
Thanks for this video it helps alot. Hot the thumb, and dropped you a sub
Does it damage the items in your freighter? Is there different races in other galaxies? I just got back into this game and wow it’s breathtaking.
No damage to freighter or items in it. There are not new races in new galaxies. The only difference between galaxies is the planet ratio meaning some galaxies are heavy on beautiful lush planets while others are heavy on stormy planets and then you have galaxies like the one you start in which are kind of even across the board.
Im new to nms in 2023 and according to wiki there are more galaxies so this i kinda outdated but it still helped.
Can you take your freighter I to a new galaxy?
Yes you can.
@@XxiouGames cheers buddy
Im confused. So i just started the game. If i go to galaxy map, i can hop from spot to spot.
Are those galaxies im hopping to? Or just solar systems?
I can zoom WAAAAYYY out.
When i zoom out and see all those points, is that all within one galaxy, or are all those points galaxies?
those are solar systems
so your stuff only gets wrecked when you go through the center of galaxy to reach a new galaxy but NOT if you just teleport there correct?
Correct
how will i know if i have entered another galaxy?
Why should you go to another galaxy if we havent even fully explored the first one
True
@@XxiouGames Saying the number of systems is massive is quite the understatement.
I did a quick calculation (had to use a special online tool because the number is too big for the normal calculator).
But very roughly speaking, If you visited a million systems per day, assuming an average of 4 planets per system, it would take you 5 million years to fully explore one galaxy (also assuming the systems are equally distributed among the galaxies).
From the point of view of an average player, the planets in this game are effectively infinite.
It could be fun to have a base near the core of the last galaxy. The base will be at the end of the Universe.
In my main game, I generally stay in the last galaxy. Why? Not as many y discovered systems, so I get to be the first discoverer. Pure ego.
Exactly reason I’m trynna jump galaxies yeah I discovered a huge chunk of galaxy X basically run the place haha
This game is wayyy to big but GG😭
You get 449 planetary bases, dw, you got this
Great video, thanks
Thanks for checking it out Bob, I appreciate you.
TY
It’s currently my life’s mission to get from Galaxy 2 to the dead Galaxy and name the systems with my 13- trademark
Does your stuff break everytime you change galaxies or just the first time? Thanks and keep up the great content
@@XxiouGames always going through a new galaxy with a cheap ship and multi tool
was that a giant snake in the beginning o-o do those actually exist in game ..... i must find one
No man sky is mindblow❤
Just find a Gate and Klick allways the Same Symbol. The Gamesystem send you to a System ~ 5500 light year near to Galaxy middelpoint becouse it Looks for next best Gate.
Currently 20 Galaxy's in, maybe I'll see them all one day lol
Do you have one of the "storm" galaxies. I personally hate paradise planets. I LOVE thr variety of stormy onr.....some have volcanos. Others blizzards.....love that!
You can have 400 base computers so it's possible to have a bas in all
This game is getting better updates
I never started in the Euclid that was my second galaxy I visited I went though a black hole
I went from Euclid to loychazniq 😮
Are there different universes?
258 known galaxies
So after de 1st reset, the one from de storyline, can i choose new galaxies? after that?
Yes you can.
So if I change galaxies, it doesnt wipe out my blueprints, inventory, or bases right? It's just the ship and tech that need to be repaired?
I MISS YOU Xxiou 😥😥, I THANK GOD FOR TAKING CARE OF YOU ..... LOTS OF LOVE CANADA .... 2024 💖💖💖💖💖💖🙏🙏🙏🙏😥😥😁😁
I only wanna go to eissentam to visit brolodise😂
I started at 41th galaxy I don't know why
Super cool. If the company that designed NMS had designed Halo Infinite I’d likely still be playing it :) Just saying.
I’m like number 999!! Haha
Its hardly an option nowedays not sure about a year ago, by finishing the story it auto warps you to 2nd galexy 😂 i was not happy no warning no nothing
so which galaxy have planets which is like earth? xD
Way to many galaxies no way in hell it’s possible to hit more then 2 maybe we just ain’t got that much time
Is there such a thing classified as an S Class galaxy ?
No there is nothing like that.
@@XxiouGames understood. thank you
SPOILER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It’s 256 galaxies, you’re one off.
I’d didn’t even know there were anything there galaxies 😅
There's 256 Galaxies. Link up with me and I'll take you to 256
so basically no real benefit to doing this... k thanks
