Leave everything and wander ( a couple on here) did the same thing, they have been renovating it over the last year, they also bought an olive grove.
Italy defenetely need more inhabitants like you ! THANKS FOR PURSUING YOUR DREAMS AND MAKE THEM TRUE !
When we buy a house on an abandoned field we can also use a part of the field to have a garden?
Very exciting! Looking forward to seeing the progress.
I like the plans!! I'll have to check out your other two places in your videos.
I really appreciate you taking the time to show all of this. I've been hearing about the homes for years but nice to get the inside scoop from someone who's actually doing it.
Amazing!! Thank you for doing this! I love it, because it's like you are saving these smalls cities and bringing them to life ✨
I wish I was doing more.
Those plans are exciting! Looking forward to you working your magic on this home.
Thanks me too!
so excited i found this video and to see what you'll turn this property into!!
Exciting right!
I love how you are dedicated to keeping the simple charm of the property
Thank you
Wonderful! Love the color you are adding to exterior and the rooftop balcony! Glad you had a 2nd chance to get that property. It was meant to be!
Thanks so much!
Nice Karl. Can’t wait to see the completed work of art.
You and me both!
Thx for sharing. Looking forward to hearing more about how the space is transformed.
Absolutely will do
That is great that you got 2 properties side by side and are able to combine. Please share updates along this journey and pricing.
For sure. I'll get into construction next year at some point.
Awesome Karl. Can't wait to see the progress.
You and me both
I love your energy and creativity... but also your common sense!
And I suppose it's safe to renovate this kind of house? The celling can't fall on your head when you are renovating? We don't have to fear this kind of incident?
I've been enjoying and inspired by your videos for a while now. I recently closed on a house in Puglia and look forward to kicking off some remodeling work and buying more property in Italy/Europe.
Nice!!!!!
great work!
You are terrific and doing great things! Complimenti.
Thank you so much!

Just saw these updates. Good for you. I’m an international teacher and doing one now. Interested to do what you’re doing in Italy
Nice where is yours?
@@Karl__Pierre a small old apartment in Taipei. Building will be condemned in 15 years. Gutted it, new floors, toilet, kitchen.. now renting it out for double rent.
Good on you….🎉🎉🎉
I appreciate that
Very cool video! I have thought of doing this in Spain, the market is so similar to Italy. Many house for cheap with very cute village/town vibes! I have real estate in the US and in Mexico and I have always been curious about some Europe real estate!
Go for it! I have covered cheap homes in Spain as well. I think there is a lot that spain offers and you can get something interesting to add to your global portfolio.
Thanks for the motivation sir! I have been viewing those, you have quite the list of international real estate! @@Karl__Pierre
Wonderful!! The renderings look great. You have inspired me. I saw the same CNN article years ago, but was afraid of the overseas commitment.
Go for it when you have a chance.
Wow this is beautiful
i also wanna buy these 1 euro house but have some questions.
How much area did you get for one euro and how much approx did you spent on renovations?
I really like the modern interior aesthetic combined with the original stone exterior. I've stopped by from time to time and saw the original CNN article that motivated you. Since I'm helping an aging parent, my timeline is further out but a concern is driving and you need residency to buy a car. Did you get it or is there an inexpensive way to rent a car if you're there for 3 months? BTW, I have been following Danny's The Good Kitchen over there for awhile.
Well you can do a purchase with a rental car company and a lease back. You can also make a friend that is willing. I've met Danny once but never really got that deep into a conversation with him.
hey! just curious, whats your budget for the renovation, mainly of the 1 euro property please
35k
So in the end, what was your total cost of buying and renovating the 3 properties? This information would really help the potential buyers. Thanks
Properties 1 and 2 about 30k each. This 1 will run me closer to 45k since I'm starting basically from scratch. The one I'm doing now by the cost about 70k to restore. Again that was a total reno plus adding a additional level. Reno costs will vary from the starting point I'll make some videos on the costs of my 1 dollar home and the one by the beach to help offer people a sense of costs
@@Karl__Pierre That'd be amazing. I look forward to that video. And thanks for your valuable response to my comment. Really appreciate it! :)
Can you give us some idea what architects and tradesmen cost when employed for renovating these small houses? Is the cist of tradesmen & architects etc prohibitive or are they reasonable/cheaper than in the USA? (I live in Ireland and tradespeople are VERY expensive to hire as are architects etc
Much cheaper. Trades $1500 -2000/ month in Salary.
What are the best sites to buy these?
Looks nice, how much is this costing to restore??
I think it will run me about 45k
Hello, thanks for the informative video. You are living my dream!! Buying a euro home has been my dream for many years. Now I finally have enough time and money for a house and renovation.
But these are some things I have been wondering for a long time but never had someone to ask. I have a couple of concerns: 1) I speak zero Italian. Is finding a contractor very difficult with no Italian skills?
2) I am not a Caucasian and am a minority woman. Have you experienced any racism? Since I have a child especially, I would not want to take him somewhere that shows blatant racism. Not saying Italians are racist at all but things could be different in small remote towns in any country.
If you happen to have time, I would very much appreciate your insight. No worries if you don't have time. I still want to tell you I enjoyed the video and I wish you much luck on your journey!!
There are also 1€ boats in Italy?
I’m interested to know how the locals feel about your changing the exterior to add color to the home. I would they wouldn’t be happy, but let me know. 😊
They are cool with it, the new developments in the town are pastel colored.
Great quality video ! Best of luck with the property. If you are interested in property investment in Europe, I suggest looking at France, where you can get an investment mortgage, 1-2% rates, and a down payment of just 10%. Rental market is pretty strong there as well and you could get a healthy portfolio with regular income from long term renters.
Interesting can you email me more information to Info@entplife.com
Let me know when you want visitors!!
How old do think these buildings are?
What watch do you wear here?
This is a Tissot PRX Powermatic 80. It's my everyday watch, rubber integrated band that I can wear casually without worry. Into watches?

How can buy this property? Because
I live in Pakistan.
so how can i actually buy it?
Hi do you know any builders in Sicily ?
❤ I am from Iran and this house in my opinion is great i have 2 children and its enough for us now how can buy ones if possibel tell us my wife accepted to immigrate there be happy thank you for you videoes❤
Buying a house does not buy you residence. I recommend speaking with an immigration attorney for guidance on your options. Additional yes I can help.
My name is Albert Dennis. I live in Cheyenne, Wyoming. I'm intrigued by the idea of buying a home in Italy and would appreciate any insights you can provide about the process.
Sure I recommend booking a call or messaging through my website www.cheaphousesinitaly.com
I like the idea but: I’ve seen some people from I think Canada who put in €400.000 to renovate and concidering the headache of renovating I would rather buy a second hand flat
For sure all depends on you, your style, budget, etc
Bonjour monsieur j ai envi de venir en Italie merci
Come on down
What is the new update about house?
This one...nothing working on my other one on the coast I won't start renovations on this one until 2025
How much do renovations cost you on average in your experience?
From 30-60/ a sq foot
so what are you doing with these houses? arent they sold to attract new residents?
I use them as vacation homes. They are sold to get people to take responsibility for them. Residency is not granted for buying them so the intent isn't that. The intent is to have responsible owners that will restore them, spend money in the local economy, and pay taxes (of course). Some people will relocate others will use them partially. I use them as a cultural immersion for my family
1 euro house is 40-50 thousand euro house in fact but for that price you have holiday house in kinda abandoned area 😮😅
All depends how you want to look at it. For some homes you can spend less than 20-30 to buy move in ready. As a pure investment I don't advise buying these homes but if you want a low cost holiday home it's totally worth the spend. One can make the same argument for a car. Why spend 60k on a car in 10 years will be worthless or unusable in some cases...yet people still do.
I wanna move to Mussolini...life in Canada is getting kinda lame. I am Estonian so I could live there forevaaa
Do you have to agree to put X amount of money in order to buy one euro house?
No you just have to take responsibility, pay taxes and make safety repairs
Why not knock through to you adjacent property and make something bigger?
I mentioned that. Right where you walk in will build a walk through
Can you suggest an agent to me?
Yes email me at Colombia@entplife.com
Wouldnt even wanna live there if i get paid. Soooo scary
Haha just needs to be fixed
Renovation will cost 5-600 Euros per square meter. Double that for extensive renovations. In this case 1000 Euros/square meter won't be enough.
These costs assume that there aren't major undetected problems and that you'll find a competent and honest contractor (which in some areas is next to impossible).
If you need to go to an Italian court of "justice", you'll never see your money again. EVER!
I love your positivity... This is my 4th one with the same contractor. Hasn't been my experience at all, but I suppose this can be the case for others.
I like how everyone is silent about what you can lose to buy 1e house 😂 Is approx 10k Euros 😂😂😂 Usually it's 5k deposit what you instantly lose if didn't finish requirement in time and most of time is another 5k paper work 😂😂😂
If you buy a house for 1 euro, its reasonable to expect to spend tens of thousands of euros on it, right?
Entrepreneur? That's the word for people that don't like to work, right?
Go define that word. You seem uneducated.
@@NasdaqSniper_ I meant "a" word, not "the" word. Because there are many others, like "trader"... Bum! 🤣
Lolololol you have no idea how much entrepreneurs work...they work so hard that they not only provide for themselves but create jobs and employment opportunities, even for morons like you. Clearly, you don't have the skills or mental capacity to be an entrepreneur...it shows in your comments.
@@Karl__Pierre You're funny.
@@elbigotesdelatienda and you are dumb if you are making anyone but yourself rich
I am italian, in my humble your opinion u may have done a big mistake buying there, this is a whole maf1@ area. Plz take care, you show to the audience that you look smart, but this is not a very smart move. There is a reason why people sell house for one euro. Not all glitter is gold...plz take care!
Where do you currently live?
What do you explain at 4:15 after you spent 12000€ for the renovation of your 100 SQM home the previous owner told you he wants the house? Dors it means he made you an offer to buy you the renovated house?
Don't trust him, small towns like Mussomeli are really safe. There is no mafia everywhere in Sicily. People sell houses for 1 euro because people move to bigger cities or to northern Italy, nobody wants to live in small towns anymore
SadlyI agree! I know Sicilians and I JUST wouldn’t. These people flashing their $$$ are either brave or naive
