I am constantly seeing people on Instagram piping products into containers and not weighing out the product and it really irritates me because you could be paying for 8 oz. but getting 5 oz. as far as you know.
Yes I agree. I weigh every item as that way I know my customer is getting what they pay for. In Australia it’s strict when it comes to weight, at times regulators will come to markets with a scale and weigh up products to see they are not under weighed so it’s a good practice
I purchased 8oz brown containers off of Amazon and when I received them I weighed the containers and they weighed in at 1.5 ounces. I added the body butter and wasn’t able to make 8 oz only 4.5. That’s tricky and not fair . I’ll keep the containers for free gifts but do you guys have suggestions on how to purchase containers to fit 8oz of body butter? I appreciate it ❤️
thank you so much for this detailed video. will the quality of the product be compromised if you put it in the freezer to cool after you are happy with the consistency?
Wow I am charging to little for the amount I give. I’ve tried jars Americans love pump bottles. I don’t like plastic bottles but I’m going to have to change my prices. Come the new year. Question how many different fragrance would you suggest in different ones & what is the difference being emulsified body butter I know the water part cause I make my lotions from scratch Right now I have about 7 I only have 4 best sellers & do you make specific for men?
I have 11 in creams and one is a masculine scent and that’s my biggest seller next to blooming rose with lavender being a close runner. Body butter is the same as lotion really but you add more butters and less water to thicken it up
@@NelsonInteriorSoapery Thank you I thought I had too much do you use the same recipes for all? I only have the 2 that are big sellers the others it’s touch and go but I’ll try a lavender I have a chamomile & tonka I don’t know if it’s the bottles people are strange when it comes to bottling.
@@CGKreations yes the recipe is the same and then I change th scent . It’s really about packaging. A big seller is if you offer soap, lotion, bath bombs or candles in the same scent and offer it as people can buy and make their own packs then
@@NelsonInteriorSoapery also I did sign up for Canva I’m doing short videos for Instagram with it also I’m going to try designing packing to see how people would like it. I do work a part time job driving a truck to help until business picks up more. My husband is a lot younger then me he’s also a truck driver so he said I can use the money I make to build on business more he also helps me at the markets he’s a great salesman 😊I’ve been doing this for a lot of years it’s taken me a long time cause people wouldn’t help. 2 years ago I finally found a graphic designer I paid him he made my logo then we moved south so it’s been a slow process but business is better but I like you I want to eventually do wholesale so I watch & listen to everything you say. I have the upmost respect for your business knowledge & honesty.

It’s mandatory in the UK to weigh body products, I’ve just started making body butters and had to purchase a trade approved scales for that.
@@IAMCHOICETVSISTER in Australia it needs to be with in a couple grams of the labelled weight

Yes . There’s no need to freeze it. I would not suggest that at all. It does not need coolness to set.
@@NelsonInteriorSoapery i appreciate your response. thank you
@@xolisilekhuzwayo it’s always best to try to keep lotions to a room temp of around 23 degrees C
