Which do you prefer - classic body butters or modern hybrids? 😉 Try my DIY Body Shop Body Butter & Whipped Mango Body Butter Recipes here: wholeelise.com/blog/diy-body-shop-body-butter/

Definitely emulsified body butters - less greasy, plus adding in water (locking it into your skin) makes my dry legs happy! Will give your dupe a try, thanks 😊 Recently bought a coconut based silicone alternative so I may try adding a bit of that.

I prefer the modern hybrid but I’m willing to give your classic body butter recipe a try since I never knew to add arrow root powder to cut down on the greasy feel.

I havent tested those, but using only oils dont like very much.body butters are more greasy and with no water my skin doesnt hidrate.so i prefer emulsions.

I love whipped body butter, it feels much more wholesome. I have used Body shop before, it's more of a thick cream very moisturizing, but sadly it also has way too many chemicals that are not authentic.Thank you so much Elsie, will definitely try this out

Dear Elise, I want to really thank you for your generous spirit in the way you share your ingredients and your suppliers. I have noticed that many who promote making their own skin care etc are no way near as generous. I pray that you will have Big success and continue to grow. I have only been following you for few weeks and I am so impressed. I will be making creams, soaps and shampoos for myself to save money and because I have no confidence in what I am buying in shops. I wonder if you can negotiate discounts from the suppliers you have mentioned ...just a thought... Thanks

Elise, this was an amazing video, I thoroughly enjoyed it. I have been making body butters, but some of my friends say how much they love the Body Shop Butters. I had read the ingredients that the Body Shop use and was amazed at all the "additives", so different from my body butters. I learnt so much from your in depth video, I will continue making the body butters the way I do, if my friends prefer the Body Shop products, so be it, the ingredients do not inspire me to replicate!! Thank you for your work.

Hi! First off I love your channel, great videos! Keep up the great work! I have two questions. You mentioned that some of us may not why not want silicones as an ingredient to be used…may I ask why not? What is it that people generally don’t like about silicones? Also I made your hair butter, and while it’s a great recipe I don’t like how to cocoa butter overpowers in the recipe, because sometimes I’d like to use essential or fragrance oils and play around with the different scents. My question is with the whipped body butter towards the end of this video, can I substitute the same amount of grams of cocoa butter with some more mango butter? Or is there a way to add in less cocoa butter or adjust the mango/cocoa butter ratio to where you can’t really smell it? I know these butters have different textures and properties, so will the recipe still work out the same and will it go whip well with the other ingredients like the arrowroot?
P.S sorry for the long post, and thank you in advance! ❤️

I personally prefer a body butter but have been started to formulate emulsified ones…I formulated with olivem 1000 (5%) and 25% oils (shea b, mango b, avocado, and coconut) and followed the rest of the recipe but for some reason mine comes out thick but feels dry (not moisturizing at all)…I’m not sure if it’s the emulsifier (maybe switch or lower the %) or if I should just stick to thicker oils but if you have any tips they are greatly appreciated ! With the warmer weather approaching do you suggest using a emulsifying wax to keep your butter from separating.

Hello Elise. I've been using store bought moisturizers all my life, and in the recent past years Body shop butters. I started making pure wipped body butters at home as my skin is very dry and body shop or any other moisturizer was getting very expensive for me.
And I must say this version of body butter was excellent. I tried the body butter with cetyl amd it is amazing.
I think I like both, the whipped body butters as well as the one with cetyl.
Just a small question, in our country (india) coconut oil is always liquid, hence can I increase the quantity of butters and what should be the %?
