      I have 9 twelve hole ocarinas. Three of them are plastic, and the rest are ceramic. However, my first ocarina was one of those 3 plastic ones, and now that one doesn't work... It was a cheap one that I found online. 7 of those 12 hole ocarinas are from STL, though, so you might be able to tell that I'm a loyal customer of theirs. I'll never look back at those cheap ocarinas from the internet now that I found STL. STL is one of the best out there when it comes to ocarinas.

I had no idea what kind of instrument it was, but it was a neat keepsake. I couldn't learn from the song book provided as I am totally blind, and now that I know what it is, I am able to look on youtube. That's how I came across your videos. Would you mind doing another short video on the correct finger positions in more detail. I could kinda tell where the thumbs should go, but other times, your instruction was more visual. Aside from that, your guidance is straightforward and easy to understand. Thank you. :)

    i am a beginner flute player but i barely know any song to play. mostly did it for fun by ear and my father really discouraged me. i dont play zelde either but ive been dying to learn an ocarine for so long. i finally bought a small bird shaped 8 hole ocarina to start with. i cant wait!! thanks for the video. really helpfull. i know i have to practise outside to prevent my dad and neighbours being annoyed. hence the reason i still dont know any good songs to play after 1.5 years. but for the ocarine. i want that.

    We are definitely committed to wanting to learn. But want to ask if you would please make more videos! As we have four ocarina lovers in the family who are absolute beginners.
    Searching out there for a lot of resources. Made all of our purchases through STL with your code. Along with music which include sheet music (did not realize what I was buying ) and none of us know how to read it. Desperately seeking resources to learn how.

    So uhh, question. When I play all notes sound air-y and there's not really a full sound. I've played several years of clarinet so that might be influencing how I play it, but I want to know if this is a common problem or if it's the vibrato all the other comments are talking about and you'll do a video on that. Please and thank you!

    • @GinaLuciani
      @GinaLuciani  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hmm, you should be able to make a more clear sound without vibrato (video coming soon!). It could possibly be your instrument... Where is yours from? Unfortunately a lot of ocarinas are made for decoration/toy so they don't play well. That's why I like the ones from STL because they are high-quality and meant to actually be played!
