Coming from guitar I'm new to wind instruments, and appreciate the lesson videos. Feels like you really have to modulate the air pressure when dropping down from a high note like G -> C.
loved orcarinas for a while and finnaly ordered one online nice intoducsion videos ^^ but man do you get out of breath and light headed lol thanks for the videos hope i can learn it
My gosh, my ring finger feels so weak >w< Thank you for the tutorial, but man, I think it's just going to take a bit of practice to get used to the feeling of going from C to E.
Great approach for learning to jump between notes. I'm waiting on my ocarina from stl because the other one I bought from a store, sadly, was so out of tune.
So I just ordered my first ocarina impulsively after accidentally stumbling across one of your videos 😂 also used the discount code! Just wanted to say thanks!🤘🏻😂 (it’s the nightingale 12 hole tenor) lol
I might want to get some more STL Ocarinas now that I think about it... I've been eyeing the Tenor Aria... The Phoenix looks cool too with its gold designs...
Just bought the white pearlescent 12-hole tenor ocarina in C-major, dubbed by one reviewer the "elf" ocarina. I LOVE it. Really looking forward to learning it. Any recommendations on a carrying case?
Thank you so much, I'm trying to learn ocarina, but I can't understand all the video. I'm not good that much in english. But lot of thanks from France !
It's been a year since you left this comment, but just in case you haven't found it, it's a replica of the Fairy Ocarina from Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Since it's a replica from such a popular game you'll be able to find it or something very similar to it if you just search Fairy Ocarina replica.
I have had an ocarina for years, and it's simply been gathering dust. Today I finally decided to get around to learning it. Unfortunately I can't replace my ocarina (A Legend of Zelda replica) because my parents won't allow me, but will it work at least until I can get a real one?
Hi I’m sry I could not come to the premier because I had school but great video since i love the ocarina btw is there an ocarina you recommend that sounds really good because my ocarina got damaged and it does not sound good so I’m looking a new one on STL. Thank you 😊.
It seems like every song I've been looking at, outside the ones in my method book I got on STL with my Air Elemental Ocarina, has been done with either a bass or tenor instrument. But not a soprano, like mine. Have you done any tutorial videos with a soprano ocarina?
Hi Gina great video! I just received my songbird blue ocarina yesterday and it was pretty expensive and there was no hole on the side of it for a neck strap so I am at fear of risk of dropping it do you have any recommendations of how to safely install something, maybe a enclosed hook for a neck strap without messing with the tuning of the instrument? Ps I am a 17+ year guitar player and I am looking to start to learn this instrument as I am very interested in it and can’t wait to begin the journey Thank you
Congrats on your new ocarina! Hmm, honestly I would be very wary about putting a hole in the instrument... If it were me, I'd sit on something soft (like a bed or couch) so that if you drop it, it won't break hopefully. Hope that helps!
@@GinaLuciani OK yeah I am very fearful of putting any holes into the thing. if anything I was thinking about installing an enclosed hook adding to it so that I could just put a string through it. Do you think that would be OK I know that I’d have to make the hook very sturdy enough so that I could handle the weight of the ocarina so that it wouldn’t break off but do you think that would be OK and not interfere with the instrument? Great videos btw looking forward to you being my online ocarina music teacher as I am looking forward to talking this instrument very seriously and incorporating it into my guitar covers of many famous songs that I already know how to play on guitar. Another question that I have is it possible to play all the notes of the musical alphabet including sharps and flats on an alto C ocarina which I have? Mike
Also Gina I just ordered my STL ocarina for my girlfriend and I so now I will have a total of three ocarinas! Very excited for you to be our teacher! 😊 PS thanks for the discount code and I got to the 12 hole blue one that comes with the Zelda book
@@GinaLuciani yes I saw you demo it in one of your videos and I immediately wanted it but I just wanted to make sure and I will use the code (but I’m just waiting for my birthday to buy it)
If you bought it from Amazon there's your problem. There's some very pretty ceramic ocarinas on Amazon for cheap that look really good on a shelf but don't play worth a shit. I'd personally recommend getting a plastic 12 hole from STL to practice which is what I'm using right now if you think you have a bad ocarina. $25 or $30 with a songbook for a good playing instrument isn't a bad deal at all
Stl has some really good quality ocarinas to offer, but I really have a hard time understanding why they insist on calling their altos tenors. They aren’t tenors and that’s okay. Why call it tenor?
The ocarina you’re using for the demonstration immediately caught my eye!
Isn't it stunning? It is one of STL's newest releases :)

I just popped in because I wanted a rather quick tutorial on the basics how to learn to play the ocarina. Thank you. Good day

Hey, Gina! I got a Phoenix ocarina and a tenor Aria for my birthday!
Coming from guitar I'm new to wind instruments, and appreciate the lesson videos. Feels like you really have to modulate the air pressure when dropping down from a high note like G -> C.
me too :D
good luck
Do you have a video like this for the 6 hole Ocarina? Your videos are great! Thank you for taking the time to teach us! ❤️
Ah, it looks easy, but not so much if you have zero experience with wind instruments 😅 Thank you for good exercise!
loved orcarinas for a while and finnaly ordered one online nice intoducsion videos ^^ but man do you get out of breath and light headed lol thanks for the videos hope i can learn it
good exercises :D.
my night just arrived today, i look forward to spending the next few years getting to know this instrument :]
Perfect timing!! I have one coming tomorrow!! Thanks for allowing me to use the code!
That's so exciting! Check out the full "Learn The Ocarina Series" Playlist to help you learn :)
@@GinaLuciani also I have a question for ocarina care. I couldn't afford an ocarina case, but are there alternative ways to store an ocarnina?
@@kat_plays7999 yeah, i wanna know the answer to this too, plastic ones, ceramic, wood, ect?
this series is gonna help quite a bit, thank you!
I'm using a night by Nobel ocarina
Just brilliant!!! You are gifted with teaching talent🌹Thank you so so much, dear💐
Gosh idk if it's because I play the clarinet but I was able to do this with only a little bit of practice! I feel so accomplished lol
This is so similar to learning the clarinet, i used to dabble in them a little bit, thinking about picking up an insturment again :]

I was playing Jurrasic Park on Mega Drive (Genesis for you) the other day. Thanks for the video!
Thanks for your great Videos. I ordert my Second ocarina with your Code by stl ...a nebula ocarina...
Thanks for all Gina.

Wonderful videos! My only question is, what about six-holers?
Where do you get your ocarinas to sell?
I’m really curious about that they look cute though 🌸
I love the yellow ocarina behind you. Can you share where you got that one from?
It's called the "Fairy." I'm not seeing it currently on the STL website, but maybe write them if you're interested :)

@@GinaLuciani I think of getting probably the nebula ocarina it has a beautiful sound☺️
Which Octave is the base tone with all holes covered? Is this please?
Thiss will makeee my plaay moore good
My brain really wants the visual diagram the same direction as the instrument you are holding.
I want to ask do you think the stl wind element soprano ocarina is good because I heard you play it in the saria’s song video and it was lovely

Can you help me learn wind wakers theme lyrics
I can hear you want to put in vibrato, just out of habit. Hard play every note straight when you are used to being musical
I wish i have that kind of ocarina but money is a prob lol
Me having a 6-hole and lifting only a few fingers: 💀
I learned if I use my nose I play notes better 😐
