That is Floor Jansen, she´s dutch and she´s a heck of a brilliant singer. The concert you were watching was recorded on 3rd August 2013 at Wacken Open Air Festival. Wacken is a very small sleepy village located in Schleswig-Holstein in northern Germany. Every year in august 80.000 people from all over the world invade our small village for a week to join together as a happy family, camping, partying and enjoying more than hundred bands on 5 or 6 stages. I live in Wacken and I join the festival since 18 years now and can´t stop :-) Anyway, thanks for watching and commenting this gorgeous piece of music!
Welcome to Nightwish. I just recently started getting to Nightwish as well. One song you need to check out, Romanticide live at Waken. I think that song shows more of Floor's range. As well as hear some vocals from the bassist.
Actually there are 75k Tickets sold every year and it is sold out again for next year. I go to that festival every year since I can afford it :) but yes. with staff it would be around 82k people
Floor Janssen is a vocal goddess. Not only can she take a song written for Tarja Turunen and make it her own; not only does she apply a huge arsenal of vocal techniques to this song; but this isn't all she can do. She can also false-chord growl if she wants to apply a really gritty feel to a song. She has said in interviews that she loves to explore different vocal techniques and different sounds. With Tuomas's song-writing, she gets one of the best playgrounds a singer of her talent could desire.
Great reaction! I like that people who are in the vocal industry are reacting to these performances. I think that because Nightwish fall under Metal they don't get the attention they deserve. I personally think that Floor Jansen is about the most talented vocalist alive right now. This song showed you some of what she can do, only some. There were 82,000 people at that show and you have to bear in mind, it is not a Nightwish concert, well it is, but at an open air Festival. What I am getting at is that they weren't all there to see Nightwish and yet they were enraptured during that slow build up during the middle. One question, early in the video some of the music was skipped, the heavier guitar riff just before Floor starts singing. Initially I assumed you had skipped it to get to the vocals, which kind of made sense being a vocal coach and all, but then of course the long quiet bit didn't get skipped so I am curious, was it accidental? Either way, no worries, it was a great reaction all the same. May I recommend Romanticide from the same show? The song is a bit heavier but showcases some more of Floor's talent (and the bassist too, he is also a rather talented vocalist) Also The Poet and the Pendulum for a longer masterpiece that showcases yet more of Floor's range I would finally also recommend Phantom of the Opera featuring the bands original singer Tarja. She has a more operatic style and I personally prefer Floor's singing style(s) however she is nonetheless exceptionally talented and well worth a listen.
One thing you'll learn quickly doing Nightwish videos is that Floor is considered one of the best female metal vocalists working today. She's so immensely skilled its scary how good she is XD
You were inquiring about the choir....some (but not all) of their choir work is done by Metro Voices, a Choir group from London, England. They work closely with the London Philharmonic Orchestra who have been featured on every Nightwish album since 2004.
I clicked on the video for this 10:20 Floor Jansen is the most talented and versatile singer in metal. She can sing any style flawlessly. I highly recommend you to react to Nightwish - The Poet and the Pendulum live Wembley 2016
Floor was a graduate from "the Rock academy" in Tilburg (first graduation class) and already a great front woman in After forever and doing guest vocals with Ayreon. She is the real deal and knows her stuff. (That's why you get called as a replacement for a running tour with less than 48 hours the get there and learn the songs. She probably didn't even know at this Wacken open air 2013 show if she would remain as there new front woman)
I cannot express how happy I am that you reacted to this, I love Floor Janson. I recommend song of myself and romantacide both from waken as this was. They were on fire that night. The poet and the pendulum from Wembley is also great. I’m still upset I didn’t see them when they were last in London.
I would recommend Nightwish - Song of Myself Wacken live, Ever dream Wacken live and The Islander live at Tampere. Floor has amazing voice but so has their bassist Marco (who you can hear in some songs).
@@Marielegoth Tarot are great. I think "I Rule" was the first song of theirs that I heard. If Marco wasn't so busy with NW they might release more than 2 albums a decade
I love your reaction at 7.31 😂 Lovely reaction, get ready for the Nightwish community. We tend to overcrowd your channel as soon as you do this song and have your first floorgasm.🤩 And we're fierce and fanatic and have many requests, but with good reason. Right?
Everyone needs to know the story about how Floor came to be! Æons ago, the gods came together to create the ultimate being. The process took billions upon billions of years. Body and armor, sculpted in the image of Hippolyta, queen of the amazons, by Hephaestus - God of blacksmithing and sculpting.... Looks, perfected by Venus - The goddess of beauty. Voice, blessed by Hymenaios - The god of song. Hair, woven strand by strand from the sisters of fate. Thus, Floor Jansen was born. Gifted to two humans on Earth-Prime (our earth) who were deemed worthy by Gaea, godddess of the earth, Floor was raised to follow our mortal ways. Her true power lays dormant to this day, but. if released, Floor could enslave the entire omniverse, with the power of her voice. Effortlessly. Every once in a while, when she is singing, a tiny fraction of her power oozes out and binds all living things for a little while. This is what we know as a FLOORGASM. See all the people "crowdsurfing"? Her voice makes some peoples bodies weigh a lot less, and they are physically pulled towards Floor as if by telekinesis. I've heard that once while she was pregnant, and walking through the woods in Finald with her husband, a wild grizzly bear approached them. Floor, yelled to scare it away to protect her unborn child, and accidentally made the bear explode. She brought it back to life with her song, as a completely domesticated panda. We should start making Floor Jansen jokes instead of Chuck Norris jokes...
liked just for this line: See all the people "crowdsurfing"? Her voice makes some peoples bodies weigh a lot less, and they are physically pulled towards Floor as if by telekinesis. well done there :D
Am I the only one who read that comment in his/her head in the voice that the Slayer's Testaments in Doom are? Like: th-cam.com/video/T5UF6ashzkw/w-d-xo.html
That is why it is called a Floorgasm. She ist absolutely amazing sounding vulnerable and immortal in the same song. She might be an angel in disguise... Tarja is amazing too, but she lacks the emotional binding. (all in all to operatic) But congratulions for your Nightwish experience.
The Poet And The Pedulum live at Webley with Floor i suggest from Nightwish and Phantom Of The Opera with the first singer Tarja. They are both great singers.
I don't know anything about singing, but it is fun watching vocal coaches react. And perhaps I've also learned some theory along the way. But regarding the combo Nightwish+Floor, what can I say that hasn't been said already. They are amazing and Ghost Love Score is my all time favourite.
If you want to hear her singing (she is Floor Jansen) different way you should try Yours is an Empty Hope live at Nightwish Cruise, Storytime live at Wacken or Weak Fantasy live at Tampere. If you want similiar vocal style you should try Dark Chest of Wonders live at Tampere (I'm not sure if it is on You Tube, if not try live at Wacken). Nightwish had also singer who was clasicly trained (Tarja Turunen) and if you want to hear her I think you should try Slaying the Dreamer , Nemo or Sleeping Sun, all from End of an Era DVD
I forgot 1 thing: Their bass player sings too. If you want to hear his songs you should try The Islander live at Tampere, While Your Lips Are Still Red live at Wembley or maybe Master Passion Greed (they never played it live and it is probably their heaviest song and for sure one of heaviest)
I love Floor singing this song. She throws herself into it and it has amazing results. She's got such a beautiful sound to her voice. This is my absolutely favourite song by them and I was nervous when she said she was going to do it at their last live show in Toronto (I'm so used to listening to Tarja sing it) but did she ever nail it! It was so beautiful. And this band brings so much life to the stage- they're mesmerizing to watch. If you get the chance to see them live I have twice and I'd fully recommend- best concert I've ever been to.
Floor Jansen stepped in the band amidst a tour. The story goes that she was asked if she "can learn the set within 48 hours". It says something of the level of professionalism I guess.
Yes Rebecca is a cool emotional diva with a beautiful voice, and floor has it all, wow what a talent from Holland lives in Sweden with a drummer from another band and they have a daughter ,just a little info , greetings from Benjamin from Holland 👋
Floor is amazing, she's for sure the most complete vocalist out there. She can do ALL, even growls ! Poet and The Pendulum (live at Wembley 2015) and Storytime from this same show are some other songs that you could react and both of them the pass player sings
"One does not simply cut a Nightwish video!" I was a bit angry at the cut in the beginning and ready to downvote the video because of that. Fortunately you did not do it more. I would suggest Romanticide from the same gig (Wacken 2013), although The Poet And The Pendulum is great as well.
@@Erkki146 Go to the channel Alone Above Earth, he made a reaction to The Poet and The Pendulum, watch it and you will see there´s a lot of problems with copyright, the people who not cut the song, always pauses the song for the same reason. So youtube will not take down the video.

There are so many Nightwich you should react to.. the acustic versions for example.. but Inwould love you to do another band but with a Nightwish link. Floor is married to Hannes, the drummer in the power metalband Sabaton.
It took Tuomas Holopainen(Nightwish band leader) 17 years to finally land his Valkyrie Goddess of Metal. IMHO the closest singer to Floor Jansen in total overall ability is Simone Simons.
She makes me want to take vocal classes and start singing. I play electric quitar and have musical background but never put much effort on singing. Singing is still best way to express yourself!
Nightwish - Phantom of the Opera (live, end of an era). Different singer (Tarja Turunen) and male singer (Marco). Great performance and amazing singing.
Floor Completes this song! Her range, low and high, is Amazing and powerful. She made a great song sound even better. I've been a fan of Nightwish for a long time. Tuomas is a musical genius! They're the first symphonic metal band I've ever heard. I Loved Tarja, but, and here it comes, I'm sorry, I know popular singers have their own style and Tarja was fantastic for Nightwish, but in this particular song, Tarja's vocal finish was Nothing like Floor's, and when she was done singing, she just walked off the stage. In the video, check out one of the guitarists, Emppu, and how he's smiling with admiration as Floor hits that high note. That's why I say that Floor completes this song.
Floor è perfetta per le canzoni nuove. Ma può sgolarsi quanto vuole. Su questo pezzo non allaccia le scarpe a Tarija. Zero. Con Floor perde tutta la sua magia.
I would highly recommend Nightwish's Poet and the Pendulum (Live at Wembley 2016) As it shows even more of Floors voice range, than Ghost Love Score does.
I don't know if it's been mentioned or brought to your attention but this song was done at the end of their set list too. Floor had been singing for about 70-80 minutes and she still pulled this song off.

I think I heard the crowd was estimated to have been around 82000 people.
wacken always delivers on crowd size. Its the largest metal festival in the world. And it is absolutely mindblowing to go to!
Wacken Open Air sells out ~72k tickets every year. with staff it's around 82k people
Actually there are 75k Tickets sold every year and it is sold out again for next year.
Out of the 3 singers Nightwish has had, Floor is my favourite. So happy she's with the band!
Definitely the most complete singer in every sense! Floor has an extraordinary Voice! So versatile!
The song is a bit heavier but showcases some more of Floor's talent (and the bassist too, he is also a rather talented vocalist) Also The Poet and the Pendulum for a longer masterpiece that showcases yet more of Floor's range
I would finally also recommend Phantom of the Opera featuring the bands original singer Tarja. She has a more operatic style and I personally prefer Floor's singing style(s) however she is nonetheless exceptionally talented and well worth a listen.
Yes, Tarja is trained for that singing style.
I imagine he cut it for copyright reasons
thanks for info!
@@teijoh So is Floor, she's also vocalcoach
She probably didn't even know at this Wacken open air 2013 show if she would remain as there new front woman)
danke Niederlande für Floor
I cannot express how happy I am that you reacted to this, I love Floor Janson. I recommend song of myself and romantacide both from waken as this was. They were on fire that night. The poet and the pendulum from Wembley is also great. I’m still upset I didn’t see them when they were last in London.
You are correct. it is very difficult to find a singer liker her. There isn't anybody else even close.
I would recommend Nightwish - Song of Myself Wacken live, Ever dream Wacken live and The Islander live at Tampere. Floor has amazing voice but so has their bassist Marco (who you can hear in some songs).
I agree on most versions except for Ever Dream Wacken. End of an Era for me is waaaaay more emotional lol everything else is perfect
@@mrea1504 Agreed! Ever Dream is just one of those songs only Tarja can sing 100%
If you like Marco then you should listen to Tarot. I recommend their song "Ashes to the stars"
Right?
I've heard them live, in front, and she is just speaking. It's freaking amazing because when you go farther back it's all loud and and crazy
Jansen jokes ???? so like , it is slippery, wet Floor🤣 But yes ,she has a cape, she is wonderwoman.
Floor Jansen jokes like Chuck Norris jokes. Floor Jansen doesn't climb mountains. She breaks them with her voice, and walks on the rubble.
liked just for this line: See all the people "crowdsurfing"? Her voice makes some peoples bodies weigh a lot less, and they are physically pulled towards Floor as if by telekinesis.
well done there :D
You didn't know? Floor is Chuck's daughter! Jansen means "Norris" in the lands of the midnight sun.
Am I the only one who read that comment in his/her head in the voice that the Slayer's Testaments in Doom are? Like: th-cam.com/video/T5UF6ashzkw/w-d-xo.html
Nightwish - poet and the pendulum, live at Wembley, Yours is an empty hope, live from Tampere. Thanks for the Great reaction
Her voice gives me goosebumps everytime I watch this video
Goosebumps throughout the whole thing....I love Floor!!
That is why it is called a Floorgasm. She ist absolutely amazing sounding vulnerable and immortal in the same song. She might be an angel in disguise...
Tarja is amazing too, but she lacks the emotional binding. (all in all to operatic) But congratulions for your Nightwish experience.
This was recorded at Wacken Open Air. Its a metal music festival held over 3 days in Wacken Germany. Around 75k in attendance.
I met Nightwish is Dallas Texas, such an awesome show!
Looks like "Wacken 2018", the greatest open air rock festival in Germany ( 75.000 people). Great show from NIGHTWISH and analyse, Carl.
in my opinion the best live singer on the planet.
The Poet And The Pedulum live at Webley with Floor i suggest from Nightwish and Phantom Of The Opera with the first singer Tarja. They are both great singers.
For first hearing Tarja I wouldn't reccomend Phantom of the Opera but maybe Nemo or Slaying the Dreamer :)
Of course live versions
After seeing a few vocal coaches react to Floor suddenly reminded me Floor was a vocal coach too back in the After Forever period
She did hold classes at least until Freja was born. I don't think she has had time since then any more.
I don't know anything about singing, but it is fun watching vocal coaches react. And perhaps I've also learned some theory along the way. But regarding the combo Nightwish+Floor, what can I say that hasn't been said already. They are amazing and Ghost Love Score is my all time favourite.
Great to see you reacting to Nightwish, I love Floor ✨
And of course great reaction video :)
I forgot 1 thing:
Their bass player sings too.
"One does not simply cut a Nightwish video!"
I was a bit angry at the cut in the beginning and ready to downvote the video because of that. Fortunately you did not do it more.
I would suggest Romanticide from the same gig (Wacken 2013), although The Poet And The Pendulum is great as well.
😂😂😂 I caught that too, I am sure every NW fan cringed... he's new to NW. I doubt he would be able to cut "Poet and the Pendulum"...
the cuts always are for copyright reasons. Not for the song itself
I've seen dozens of Nightwish reactions, uncut. Never heard of anyone having trouble with copyrights.
@@Erkki146 Go to the channel Alone Above Earth, he made a reaction to The Poet and The Pendulum, watch it and you will see there´s a lot of problems with copyright, the people who not cut the song, always pauses the song for the same reason. So youtube will not take down the video.
Pausing is fine in reactions, assuming you have something to say about what you're seeing/hearing. But straight up cutting is a big no-no in my book.
You should react to Song of Myself from the same concert. You get to hear the bass player's vocals too. :)
Agreed...
I agree with Romanticide. It shows a totally different side of the band. And that last climb... oh man.
....which are disgusting.
Agreeded!
A great one indeed
So absolutely agreed and so much more. Yours is an empty hope. And obviously phantom of the opera. There is so much to hear.
Welcome to the wondrous world of symphonic metal, with the most extreme vocals in the best way.
Commanded female vocalists
Tarja Turunen ( Previously with Nightwish, now solo) - Personal Favourite
Floor Jenson (Previously with After Forever, current Nightwish) - Personal Favourite
Simone Simons (Epica)
Manuela Kraller (Xandia)
Elina Siirala (associated Leaves' Eyes)
Sharon den Adel (Within Temptation)
Nightwish with Tarja and Floor is amazing!
This gig was filmed at the Wacken Open Air. It is the worlds biggest metal festival with 80000 people, I think. Please react to "The Greatest Show On Earth" by them live at Wembley, that song really is an epic masterpiece.
"So cool to see vocalist who can do it all." Agree.
Without doubt the finest singer/performer in the world today.
Im wondering how many Nightwish fans are there, just because of Floor and the band for first time.... me.. :D Im glad that other ppl likes band and symphonic metal :) Greetings from Poland!
If i remember right, she was pretty new to the band back then and a lot of fans were skeptical about here. With that performance she got them all
As more, I listen to Floor, as more I know that I'm light years away for her quality level singing.
She makes me want to take vocal classes and start singing. I play electric quitar and have musical background but never put much effort on singing. Singing is still best way to express yourself!
Love that you loved it!!! :)
Nightwish - Phantom of the Opera (live, end of an era). Different singer (Tarja Turunen) and male singer (Marco). Great performance and amazing singing.
As a suggestion: their cover of Phantom of the Opera with their former (original) singer Tarja Turunen
Just want to add that I would love it to be the live version from "End of an Era"
Personal one that I love here is Dark Chest of Wonders
Nightwish - Yours Is An Empty Hope
Nightwish - Romanticed
Nightwish - Poet And The Pendulum
Nightwish - Song Of Myself
Meet Ms Floor Jansen of the Netherlands!!! One of the best vocalists out there 👍🏻
She doesn't do it so much with Nightwish but she also has one hell of a growl on her. Amazing vocalist.
she can do growls as well! great reaction!
The greatest show on earth live -Nightwish
Btw she learned 15 songs in 2 days including this one
just the fact that the word "floorgasm" exists should tell you enough about her skills
I would highly recommend Nightwish's Poet and the Pendulum (Live at Wembley 2016)
As it shows even more of Floors voice range, than Ghost Love Score does.
Have been blessed with Floor, I just couldn't image the life without her!
I saw them live this year for the first time, the Floorgasm was reaaal
The orchestra in the backing track is London Philharmonic Orchestra and the choir is Metro Voices. Both recorded in London.
I don't know how to sing but i enjoy someone that does know how to sing breaking down song's i love
