    Thank you for sharing this with us. The older I get the more personally affected and inspired I am by people sharing the moments, experiences, and memories that are truly meaningful to them. Seeing you relive and relish a place that has been so meaningful to you was fantastic. And the parts about your wife were deeply moving. I think those are the things that truly connect us with others. I have my own special places in my life. And I’m fortunate to have a wife I love dearly. Those kinds of things create this sort of ripple effect of meaning and joy that really does connect us to one another. Thank you for sharing some of your life and joy with us. Much love to you TGV!

    Visited Florence with my class 5 years back, spent countless hours just wandering around Florence during the couple weeks we were there, now I miss it, such a historically rich and beautiful city.

      Florence is beautiful, but you can see the small city in just a few days. Two weeks seem like a long time there

    • @Anirossa
      @Anirossa ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @john doe Depends on how you like your holidays.
      A few days is enough if you have a list of places you want to cross off having been to, to be able to say you've been there.
      If you, on the other hand, want to slow down and take in the experience, not lose some of the incredible gems around the area and visit a local wine farm, and try some samples.
      Walk off the beaten patch of the tourist traps and find some cozzy local restaurants outside the busy centres overflowen with tourists. You require more than a few days. ;)

    27 minutes of Italian bliss. I'm born and raised in Ireland, but because of Ryanair it's so easy and cheap for me to get to Italy these days and it's somewhere I'm seriously considering moving to for the next few years. I love Serie A football, the food, the coffee, the history, heritage, everything. This year I'm going to be in Sardegna. Hopefully in 2025 I'll have learned enough of the language to enable me to move there.

    I visited Florence around 10 years ago, and like you, I didn’t want to leave. It’s a magical place - the art is phenomenal, as is the architecture! I also visited Milan when I hit 30 (20 yrs ago now) - mainly to visit the birthplace of my beloved Alfa Romeo!

    I wish I spoke Italian so that I could thank you properly without resorting to the crass shortcut of an auto-translation. This is one of my favorite videos and I could literally feel your emotions when you said you wanted to cry. Returning to one's old college haunts is one of the most emotionally overwhelming and even exhausting experiences one can undertake, and a city as beautiful as Florence...whew! As per your usual, wonderfully photographed with such tasteful accompaniment and sprinklings of humor, all mixed with your flair for history. It's a masterpiece and why you have one of the most intriguing channels on the Web, not just for watch nerds but anyone who enjoys the finer things without being a snob, and so down-to-earth about it to share with all of us. Bravo!

Just think, if you had taken it earlier, you wouldn’t have had your Panerai or been such a fan and the trip, day, video, and the entire experience would have been different. Everything happens for a reason.

      I had to google translate this, and it definitely didn’t read as I’m sure it was intended, but I had a chuckle. Lol

      @Taylor Davidson I can explain it trying to be polite: touching your "male equipment" you invoke the power of fertility. I think it's an ancient roman tradition... 😂

    Another amazing video! I studied Italian back in University and have been in love with the culture, history, and language ever since. One day I'll go and one day I'll own a Panerai! Un altro capo lavoro!

    Excellent video. What a trip! Makes me want to return to Italy. I do love Panerai as well. Instantly recognisable and theres nothing else like them.

    Thank you for sharing your trip! My wife and I spent a month in Italy a few years back before we had kids. We’re dying to get back but videos like yours will have to suffice for now.

    I was in Florence until last week, and I regret not entering Panerai. I told myself I didn't want to go in without buying, but I am full of regrets now. Like others, I wasn't a fan of the brand. However, that store right there has its magic, strong enough to put Panerai as a future purchase. Fun fact is, I, too, met the love of my life in Florence. This video hits home
