Absolutely gorgeous papers! I bought a skein of yarn today at a thrift shop that has about 2 in. long fringe....can't wait to see the prints I get! Also, I am a blue/green lover, but you have inspired me with these colors!!
I have used threads and I save the threads and the floss and any other string type materials. The more you use them the better they get. I never know what to do with green gold paint. Gonna try it again!
Absolutely, hair in my Gelli prints, for sure! I said, when you wondered if thread would work, heck yes, even hair shows up! My hair shedding is ridiculous. Love watching Gelli printing, you got some awesome ones!💕🇨🇦
I start out prepared to save my brayer sheets. I try to fill the whole paper, turning it so the marks go in different directions and cover most of the white page. If I spot something really nifty looking, I make sure to stay away from it so I don't cover it, or if I'm using colors that REALLY won't look good together, I've already got other sheets waiting to use instead. 😊
Thanks.. very pretty prints..... Thanks also, I'd used dental floss a few months ago and had forgotten to use it since. It's really fun stuff....I have not used it with open, I can't wait to try it....Thank you for sharing and all you do!
Thank you for sharing this interesting effect Susan! I really like it and was so excited after watching coz I knew I had some floss somewhere. So I dug it out only to discover that it's basically the thickness of the thread in your video! Nothing like the floss you are using, which looks more like narrow tape. So disappointed! I thought floss was floss but it seems there are product/size variations. You learn something every day eh! I will still try it out but I know straight away that the results will be very different from yours. Specially since you found that thread didn't work! Thing is tho - and this gives me hope - if hair can leave an imprint, so can thread! Will def have to experiment. 😊
Something I learned watching Jan Davies is if you add something like the white on top and you pull it off the plate and it's too much white, just lay another paper on top of it and rub it really hard. You can get an amazing look from it. Works really well with open or regular....
I used thread on a red background and for some weird reason it made the perfect image of a penis so I quickly made a collage of a funny man with a chicken head and playing a cigar with a ball in his other hand and boxes and a border around the black canvas. I also put a house up in the corner w/ an open tiny door that said, penis man. I'm 82 and in a nursing and don't know how to give it to so it on my wall. Luv your work. I l
I love the colours used on these papers and the difference between the papers as well. I have noticed that when you are applying pressure to the papers to pull the prints, you seem to concentrate on the top and sides more than you do on the bottom of the pape. is this intentional? And why wouldn't you use a barron to apply equal pressure all over? Just my thoughts - they all turn out beautiful anyway you do them. Thank you for sharing.
Better quality paper, more absorbent, doesn’t wrinkle as much …. go for it! Heck there is no age limit to having fun or being creative! Use what you have for sure.
I use these prints to create artwork. Rice paper works better for me. If it's just a journal page collage that is not going to be sold I don't mind copy paper but for my quality work I prefer rice paper. If you're just starting out use the copy paper.
I will not buy the open paint because they’re too expensive when I first started out using the gel plate. There was always a thing on you by this. You buy that this is what you need to get. This is what you need to use and all of a sudden you’ve got tons of different types of paint and you never get round to using them. It’s the same with the stamping pads so now I don’t bother. I’ll watch this because I’m interested in the dental floss but when people say they are using golden open fluids I never watch the videos.
FABULOUS, simply fabulous!! You can never duplicate a pull. Wonderful!
So beautiful. Would you show us a collage where you use those brayer sheets!
Hopefully soon. I am planning to create a collage with them today.
Would love to see your collage.
Your pulls are just wonderful. Thank you for showing. And I would also love to see you use them in collage.
You have such a terrific voice and wonderful presentations you don’t need the distracting music in the back ground.

Really excellent video tutorial. I keep seeing wonderful pictures on the clean up sheets too!
Hi Susan, Yes, the multi layered green was my favorite too! Love the dental floss idea.

@@bonihoward6635I love that!😂😂😂
Thank you
No one would notice a stray hair on a print of floss and thread. Ha! Love this.
Can you pull an image with these samples?
You can make Nickel Azo Gold by mixing 4 parts Red Iron Oxide and 1 part Nickel Azo Yellow.
Could you use watercolour to paint over the ordinary paper?
I know very little about Watercolor. It's not my thing. Sorry.

I'm an old man who has never tried this before but I think I'll ask Santa for a Gel Plate. What makes you use rice paper as opposed to printer paper?

Deli paper ? is that just greased paper?
It's different than the wax paper you get at the Supermarket. It's not greasy.

Enjoyed the video very much but the background music drove me mad. Do we really need it?
Is deli paper wax paper?
No. It's less waxy. I use this one: amzn.to/498i17b
The reason your rice paper does that is the paint is too wet!
Cat hair 😂
