  • Hi everyone,
Thanks very much for stopping by the channel, I really appreciate everyone’s continued support. And if you’re new here, thanks very much for coming along.
In this video, I talk about lead arm structure, one of those fundamentals that a lot of elite and pro golfers have built into their swing without them knowing, 1 but a fundamental that is very important for you to have in your swing.
Like I say in the video, lot of golfers who suffer from slicing or distance loss, will have a lead arm that does not sustain structure within the impact zone.
Hope you find this video of some interest and obviously some use to your swing too.
Thanks everyone and have a great day .
    Warren

Warren, I've been enjoying the videos. As an amateur golfer, I've noticed a big tendency of poor swings is the "releasing of the club" right after impact. Is it possible to do an in depth video on how to properly release the club?

Many thanks, I think I’m going to do one on Monday, but in the meantime hope this can be of some help to you.
      Many thanks for your support

Warren are you doing a video in chipping and pitching? That would be great, high low different clubs and understanding distances etc. Thanks.

Warren again thank you for your instruction. Left arm structure during post impact has been both an issue and focus of my training. I’ve used a tour striker ball and “swing hard/stop fast” drill to work on this position. I’ve come to the conclusion without proper hip rotation maintaining left arm structure is challenging. So many small moving parts!!

Hi Edward, that makes perfect sense, got to get that engine room right then it definitely can be easier that’s for sure.
I know, don’t think there’s a harder more technical game than golf! Love it. Hate it! 😂

Hi Warren, Really enjoying your video series. First Class. Just a quick question. Can you describe what height you have your 'front on' and 'down the line' cameras (ie belt height, chest height etc), and how far away you are standing from the cameras?

I would say both tripods are roughly 5ft in height. I know some coaches like it lower so it’s not a look down view. In terms of distance away, the gopro (back camera) I would say is 3/4meters away, I have it on linear lens mode not wide angle so have to be a bit further away, wide angle can be very close but looks a bit distorted. Front camera is my phone and is about 5m away as like is smaller then I crop in in edit, but I guess distance away all depends on what you’re filming with.
      Many thanks
      Warren

@@warrenbennettgolfacademy Thanks so much Warren. I traditionally film from around hand height and about the same distance away as you, so not quite getting the same perspective as your videos. I'll try the elevated view from around 5ft and hopefully, after hours of practice, mirror what I see you demonstrate in your drills!!

Dipping/ collapsing is a common problem , with a straightish left arm it is easier to keep height and the consequence is more power and consistency of strike. Like many I think over swinging collapses the left arm which then causes dipping to reach ball. Also rushing from top can cause crouching...which for me leads to shanking. 3/4 swing can help hereI find so taking extra club and less swing can be useful to get the feel. Great stuff Warren...a really important reminder.
