10/31 - How these 3 Swing Moves Will STOP YOUR SLICE FOREVER

  • Hi everyone, well I’m definitely giving you over the toppers some ingredients and some food for thought during this July series, and we have another one today.
    But this time I am going to blow your slice out the water in three moves.
    Probably one of of the worst things you can say to a slicer of the ball is feel like they are going to hit to the right (RH) because that is what they’re fighting against, a miss to the right, so asking them to hit that way can be, well is definitely not in the comfort zone.
    With today’s exercise I take you through the main ingredients to finally stop your slice, or at the very least, stop the extreme.
    If this is you? I wish you well and straighter shots all round.
    Pretty much a third of the way through the July series now, with 21 videos still to come.
    Once again thank you to each and every one of you for support not only this July series but taking the time out to message.
    Hope you enjoy
    Warren & Trev

    Very helpful in understanding and overcoming a slice. Wish someone had taught me this fifty years ago. Never too late to learn. This is fun.

    I’m new to golf at 76, took it up after retirement. I stink so far but can’t tell you the confidence and appreciation I have of Warren and his invaluable expertise. The lessons he shares and the calm demonstrations keeps me wanting to learn and perform better. Thank you once again for sharing your ability to those who can’t wait to watch your next lesson of instruction.

      Well done for taking up the game, you have the best teacher right here! He was awesome in his pomp back in the 90's/00's. The only way is up!😊

    As a natural fader too, these videos on how to hit a draw easier really help!

      @warrenbennettgolfacademy you're welcome and they most definitely do! Ball striking has improved tremendously. I really like to see how someone explains sequencing. Won't find that on another channel

    Very informative, the way you explain your views and the sequences needed to accomplish a change is really calming .... I would suggest keeping all movement during the practice as slow and calm as Warren's speech pattern. I have been a slicer for years and have finally started to negate some OTT but I need to keep working on it .

    And with the hand release (less body) hands now swing right and the chicken wing is eliminated. Great ideas for tonight’s practice indoors. Thank you Warren.

    Excuse the stupid question, but is that not flipping the club face?

    • @warrenbennettgolfacademy
      @warrenbennettgolfacademy  16 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Technically yes, but I’m focusing on the golfer who holds on and slices, so I’m giving the opposite ingredient feeling which they need to put the RtoL spin on the ball. It’s extreme but in my experience with golfers who slice, they need to layer this extreme feeling in drills so when it gets layered into a normal speed swing, it can change.
      Hope that helps.

    Why shouldn’t the backswing follow the angle of the pole please

    • @petethomas7164
      @petethomas7164 17 วันที่ผ่านมา +3

      Warren is encouraging the backswing up with the space to drop back on inside. If the swing followed the aim stick on upswing the tendency would be to come over the top....the very thing he is trying to prevent. Hope this helps.

      Excellent answer from the other guy but I’ll give opinion.. for a very long time. I was a slicer of the ball and it wasn’t until watching Warren‘s videos and then videotaping my practice. I started to see key issues. This video right here is what I am trying to work on because I managed to get my slice to either a pull to the left or a fade. Still trying to get a consistent draw. It’s Hard. You want to have a more straight takeaway (felt strange to me as I was slightly inside) that way you can have room to manipulate your body in transition to get your hands behind you.
      This takes great time and practice. I’ve been practicing this now for 8 months and I have 45 games in this season (75-92 scores and 9.5 index) Takes repetition. Good luck with your golf and practice
      Thank you Warren 😊

      @@dr.danamplifiers1753Sure you know this already...but Warren has done loads of videos helping over the top swingers/ slicers. Dropping club into the slot, feeling coming from the inside, the loop, the twisting of arms, the tray drill etc. Gravity is your friend! Try dropping the club, let it fall to ground from various positions. Pete Cowen has done similar drills/ videos....showing how the club wants to fall....and where it would fall . Remember that old classic...."let the club do the work"!!! It still true.
      Warren often talks about gentle grip pressure....loosely holding club to feel its weight.
      He is brilliant. It's worth checking out all his videos (I'm guessing you may have already!😂)....some great consistent themes. All best.

      Hi Kevin, apologies for the delay in response. It’s to help with the downswing mainly, if the club and arms get pulled across too much in the backswing, they will have no room to be encouraged to drop down in the downswing, so out will happen, and over time this can become extreme. I always like to encourage a steeper backswing with the club and width at the top, as it helps to drop the club especially under speed when we can’t feel it.
      There are exceptions like anything with golfers who swing around early, Snead, Jones, Floyd, but for the majority it’s easier to go from steep to shallow.
      Hope this helps
      Warren
