Hi DustinOz76 - we're part of a campaign that's aiming to showcase how important Cockburn Sound is for fishing, boating, windsurding etc. We'de love to be able to use this video to showcase how important the Sound is for family sailing experiences - would you be happy for us to do that if we credited you? Thanks!
Hi, I've just noticed that your boat is for sale on Gumtree. I'm a bit sad about that because you have made some beautiful videos that have really inspired me with my boat. But hey, you've gotta do what you've gotta do. If I hadn't just bought a Sabre 22 in December, I would be looking closely at yours (even though you're on the opposite side of the continent to me). I'm wondering, would you be able to share a few tips about your boat? I'm particularly interested in your pop-top (it seems to work a lot better than mine) and your rudder set-up. Anyway, I hope that what ever you do next you get as much pleasure out of it as I can see you're getting on your little yacht. All the best.
G'day Joe, I'm not thrilled about selling mine, however we are moving overseas for a couple of years. If I don't sell it I may just store it. They sure are terrific boats. I had a Boomerang 20 for a few years when we live in Sydney and loved the sailing around the waterways there. I can take some photos of the rudder/pop top if you like. I've just refurbished the rudder/tiller. Cheers.
DustInOz76 thanks for the message. I’d love to have a look at how your rudder’s been set up. I think ours has been modified to push it a couple of inches further aft of the transom and it has holes drilled in it so it fills with water. Not sure why- perhaps to keep it down when under way. Best of luck for your new life OS.
