Fat is an important componet of a healthy diet and will not increase cholesterol as long as you choose the right quantity of healthy fats like nuts and seeds, olive oil, avocados, fatty fish etc as they are good sources of unsaturated fatty acids that help reduce LDL and improve HDL levels.
