- Teaching the Fighter to Slip the Jab Right Hand and Left Hook. Practice This Great Drill! Tom Yankello of the World Class Boxing Channel is back with a really unique boxing video that is for both the trainer and fighter. This boxing tutorial is really unique in that it teaches the boxer a great drill on how to slip a 1 2 and how to weave the hook and how to roll the hook for whether you are fighting an orthodox fighter or a southpaw fighter. This will help you get in great fight shape with slipping the 1 2 hook! In this drill, Tom explains how a trainer should hold the pads. He then shows the drill. The first combo is teaching the fighter to slip the jab, right hand, and left hook when fighting an orthodox fighter. Then the second part teaches the fighter to slip the jab, left hand, and right hook when fighting a southpaw. Tom shows you how everything is a twist and how every move sets up the next punch. He explains in detail how to make smooth you can be and make transitions from slips to punches and from punches to slips.

The hip hop equivalent Coach Tom is doing is dropping 'golden' bars for days. Tom and Danny are the perfect fit to 'show and tell' us.
I'm impressed at how Coach and Danny make such a technical process look so effortless.
Coach is not only dropping bars but he's dropping bars between the bars if you know what I'm saying.
There's layers and tiers to this stuff and Coach is bringing it!
I love the way we start with the basic and fundamental 1-2 and then Coach layers it like a patisserie chef who makes a wedding cake with the tiers and intricate stuff that goes between them and holds everything together.... off of the 1-2 we get the slip of the 1-2 and 3 and then the counter 2-3....
I forgot to add that thrown properly with the fulcrum of the twist of the waste it brings everything into play i.e.: attack/defence at the same time.
Then Coach drops the bomb with the interpretation from the southpaw perspective.... This is golddust!
This is the stuff dreams are made of...
Coach is showing that executing the fundamentals (in this case the 1-2 thrown properly) opens up the doors for a fighter to both attack and defend whilst staying true to those fundamentals... and this negates stuff poor form produces such as reaching and being unbalanced.
Sometimes the simplest of stuff is actually highly intricate.
I love these fundamentals lessons... Please keep them coming.
Thanks for all the support TJ!👊🏼 I really appreciate it! Please consider sharing the video.
He’s a master at work his boxers are fantastic I cannot stop watching all his videos I have learnt so much in just a few months i have been coaching 28yrs
TJ well said Sir!!! I'm in total agreement.
😂😂😂,
"Repetition is the mother of skill" Boss quote
Toms boxers are so lucky to have him as a coach learn as much as you can lads
Danny’s boxing style is fantastic the bigger boxer can really move too(I could not spell his name lol )
Repetition is the Mother of skill….! Gold
Repetition is the mother of skill. We are striving for perfection. You'll never reach perfection, but you'll gain excellence !
So grateful you are making some for southpaws!!! Thanks chief!!!
Although i feel I’m very knowledgeable with my boxing and how to execute things, when i encounter someone like this i still listen just like I’m a beginner. Never too good or old to learn quality information.
Ι love the way first guy on video moves and slips. So naturally, so smooth, great footwork. You have a great channel.
That's some cold head moment. You have the best boxing videos on TH-cam bar non

Quality Fundamental Basics! Gold as always!
We have to work repetitiously. Repetition is the mother of all skills. We're striving for perfection. You'll never reach for perfection, but you will obtain excellence in the process. Great words of wisdom Coach Tom Yankello
Excellent drill. I can see where this can tighten up things for my beginners. I also like the added footwork.
Why would anyone give a “thumbs down” to this video?
Man that is so simple yet so good and easy for us ex boxers who are not trainers to pass on to our kids who are not ex boxers, they still have plenty of skin in the game
Best boxing channel on TH-cam. Thank you for your time and dedication to your channel✊🏽✊🏽

Another amazing video. This is basically a £30-50 one to one lesson. Thanks Tom!
What a fantastic drill Tom I love orthodox and southpaw in one go great fun
Coach dropping GEMS as always 🙏
Tom Yankello is the best 👌
From one coach to another, BRAVO!!
Usted es un MAESTRO del boxeo. sabe decifrar cualquier tecnica de boxeo y sabe enseñarla y trasmitirla. Ademas no tiene egoismo. 👍👍👍
Wow, very cool. There was always a shortage of material for left-handers. Great theme, keep it up !!!
Great video!!! Great way of explaining how to transition defensive maneuvers into offensive punches by way of hip movements. This video gives a glimpse into why it is called the "sweet science".
Most newer "strikers" like to focus on landing the strike vs mastering the delivery first.
A lot of up and coming mma fighters could use this info.
Excellent class!👍
After remembering the chronology of the movements and punches, I'm proceeding autonomously. It's a double training when I use the southpaw stance.
Danny is a fucking monster. The dood has everything athleticism, looks and the corner. Cant wait to see him in his pro career.

Thanks, Tom! That was brilliant.
Wow.. again impeccable technique from both fighters and spot on footwork!
So good to see the correct foot moving first on every single step. Awesome work!

Great drill.
Hey Coach
I have an idea I don't know what you think but here it goes:
I was wondering if you would consider opening a Tom Yankellos Boxing Trainer School, where you would teach Trainers A-Z of Being a Trainer ? I can imagine it would be good I think Boxing needs this
Thanks
Nice video coach.
Great stuff!!
Great drill i really like this thx
Hey coach, loved the slip techniques with details of feet positioning and versatility to use against orthodox and southpaw, nice.
Coach I’d love to see some breakdown on Jack Dempsey technique. He had the famous Dempsey roll, and he also used sometimes a heavy front stance and he would use the philly shell too with that nice shoulder position with left higher than right .
How he generates a lot of power and that stuff. I’d love to see you sir breaking down some of his technique. He was a great ko artist .
Thanks coach for the awesome content as always take care and good training for ROY
Amazing.
Brilliant
Could this be the numeral uno Coach, Trainer, and Teacher on Social Media? Can this Be? Well, he's sure is a candidate. That's for sure 💯 👌 👏!

Love from India.
Good job people. I have zero experience and knowledge about boxing. I'm beginning to get interested in boxing. Can I learn just watching youtube?
Although I am not a boxer, I do kickboxing and mma Please send me some boxing training videos that are used in mma, thank u
Can these drills be translated to a double end bag or slip bag? If so, it would be nice to see it broken down. I guess you could shadow box using imagination.
Peace Coach! Thank u as always-for the greatest videos in the land! My question is on the conclusion when stepping with the slips. I noticed Danny stepping with the lead foot but after the angled-weave he stepped with the rear leg first as he slipped to that side, why was that?
Coach pls can we also use all this strategy in the octagon(cage) as an mma fighter, I await ur swift response sir
#Dope #💯 ....LISTEN!!
Dam you read my mind.
just have to practice.practice
Nice
🔥🔥🔥
Rooster styal what about Crane
You see the flaws when they do a combo and have to restand to reset
Hi coach, where I should look during a fight? his eyes ???
Is training a double slip dangerous? Double slipping a 1,2 seems dangerous because youre bringing your head back to the centre line. Is a slip, roll a better option?
any tips to prevent me from getting caught with a strike when closing distance?
08:00 exercise all-together
Thanks Coach Yankello, Danny and Shavonn - another fantastic drill and I appreciate your detailed explanations! 💯🙏 I find it particularly difficult to step forward and slip outside after I throw the right hand 👊 Too slow after recoiling! I throw the right hand and then drop step forward to slip the orthodox jab... Would you recommend this method or am I sacrificing balance for speed? Good luck for the upcoming fight - Roy Jones Jr and Mike Tyson are 2 of my favourite fighters, so I hope they both do well and come out safely!
Can we see some sparring from these two???
👋👋🔥💪🥊🥇
Ojo,joj Roy Jones!
5:55 - 6:15 mark is so pretty
Subtle slips
Майк Тайсон уронит Роя Джонса . Вряд ли вы что то придумаете новое
too many breaks . RJJ is hiding his lack of stamina
Omg Tom stop repeating yourself and other things not related to what your showing. If your talking about slipping punches then focus on that instead of " his shoulder trajectory or he's loading his hips etc". That takes away from the video !!
Shut up, if you can’t sit and listen go and watch someone else
You're bloody fool! Shoulder trajectory is part of the detail on how to slip punches as it involves shift in body weight. If idiots like you would listen instead of talking without even listening. Tom is a teacher of the highest calibre and your type might dissuade him from creating this content, which we're lucky to get for free!
Umm..i understand him fine and based on other comments, so does just about everyone else. And he doesn't really deserve such a pushy attitude from you, do you think?
Amazing lesson.Thank you.
