I wouldn't call the upper right pocket because if you play a good enough safety, you're left at the table with the cue ball frozen to your ball and are likely to lose.
Yep Although it all depends on a number of variables. Two of the biggest variables are: Who's shooting the shot? Who's gonna be shooting next? Even on the Pro-circuit, everyone has things they are particularly great at. Efren is the God of Kicks. None of those Safeties would be good against him.
The hook behind the 1 at like 12:10. Couldn't the opponent kick off the short rail with right English to make the 8? Not an easy shot obviously, but it is a kick option.
I like the push-through safety, although I probably wouldn’t have seen that. In a real game I’d probably just take the thin cut on the 3, but two other “fun” shots would be to aim the bank short of the pocket and try to z-bank it cross-side, OR reverse bank the 3 to collide with the 8 ball and possibly carom into the side. I like the latter as an aggressive alternative since the chance of selling out is so high and you’ll either a) carom it in with shape on the 1, b) knock the 8 into the point and subsequently out of the pocket, or c) knock-in the 8 ball, which was going to happen on your opponent’s next shot 9/10 times anyway. TL;DR: great safety, there are other options though.
Cut the 3 in. If you play safe you still leave a very easy kick shot in the side. This is a do or die situation no matter what. You have to play to win the game period. Most advanced players get out 95% of the time in this spot
I wouldn't say advanced. I think pros miss that 3 Ball 1/3 or 1/4 times. I missed 2/3, which I think I could easily do 2/3. Also, 4" pockets make a difference. Pro's rattle this kinda of shots often when playing on 4" pockets. When I say often, I mean like 1/4. Depends who your opponent is as well. But yes, an aggressive approach is probably best. 😁
The visual examples really help me, a visual learner first. Thanks!
Great tips

Ya tough spot
Imagine Efren Reyes comments and tells you what he would do 😀

Absolutely.
I show the kicks and jumps at the end.
All depends who your opponent is.
If I'm playing Fedor, I'm going for the out. 😁
