    It sounds like clapping when the ball goes in lol. Thanks for the explanation!
    The thing I will have to remember is that when you are counting from the object ball, you don't count the half diamonds but you do on first rail you hit.

    Well done Darren. Could you explain what adjustments we need to make for balls that are not near a rail?

    • @metou3072
      @metou3072 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +11

      You go from where the back of your cue stick is over the diamond and you shoot through the diamond... Meaning you shoot the cue ball like your actually trying to hit the diamond with the cue ball... Not the spot on the rail in front of it..

    • @CODlogist
      @CODlogist 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah, you use the corresponding diamond tracks, not the location of the cue ball acroos the diamonds

    • @michaelgray2013
      @michaelgray2013 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      If you are asking about object balls not near the rail. You need to parallel shift your cue towards the second rail which will allow you to see the second rail track line. More precisely use the cue on the track line to the first rail, 1/2 diameter of the cue ball off the rail contact point, parallel shift towards the second rail which will give you the second rail contact point and the track line. If the object ball is on that line then you should hit it.
      Keep in mind that spin plays a important role in this system. Less spin moves the cue ball away from you and more spin moves the cue towards you.
      Spend several weeks working on the basic 2 rail diamond to corner pocket and diamond to diamond kicks which will give you a good but basic understanding of the tracks lines. Then start working on hitting balls away from the rail. You will start to see the track lines relative to the object ball and split the difference between lines that the object ball doesn’t land on.

      @@dustinp26 always running English...case u don't know what that is ..Meaning a tad bit on the same side you want the ball to go...it definitely works and is a system used by pros. It's simple geometry

    Thanks! This explanation makes t feel more accessible, less like “math”. If you ever do a follow-up, I too would be interested to know how you deal with balls off the rail. I whiff on those a lot, and I’m thinking there must be a simple way to visualize the line by predicting the 2nd-rail contact point.

    I've tried this system a couple times for about 30 minutes. It's always off by about 2 Diamonds. guessing the rails or old cloth has something to do with it. Or.... just my error. I'll try again tomorrow.

    • @RichardsWorld
      @RichardsWorld 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @JacksHardenedLiver I kind of worked it out on the pool hall I play at. Some tables are Brunswicks and some are Diamonds. I tried at another place also. For me I needed about 1.5 - 2 tips of running English and hit about medium speed. But once the first angle becomes less steep I need less English.

    Hello Darren, many thanks for this tutorial! Could you please explain how to measure the distances between the cueball and the objectball when you don’t always place the cueball directly in line, as you did? For example, if the cueball is somewhere in the middle of the table, do you then measure the distance between the cueball and the objectball using the diamonds along the side, or by aiming at the target points marked from the long rail to the short rail? Could you elaborate on this a bit more?

    This is the best explanation of the diamond system I have seen, thank you. However I tried every shot you did in the video, and it is not working on my table. I have to go two diamonds from the diamond the system says I should use. I can't figure out why it's not working right for me. Do you have any suggestions. My table is 7' long, it is exactly twice as long as it is wide. I want to use this system, but for whatever reason it doesn't seem to work for me

    I noticed that when you shot the 5, you didn't have your cue pointed out 'from' the five, but in a diagonal from the side 5 to the end 5 spot. Cue placement is critical as much as cye ball position. This is a great video.
    Also, cue ball placement, for practice, is not at the side diamond, it is forward of it.

    If the object ball isn't near the rail, how would you use this system to predict the path of the cue ball through the object ball? I'm guessing you'd eyeball a close cue ball path and use your cue to predict if said path takes the cue ball into the target, and make little adjustments if it doesn't? Thanks.

    Question: The last 2rail kick with the 1ball on the short rail, starts at zero, then you counted the pocket as 1diamond, then 2,3,4&5 diamonds up the long rail to the CB. I've always counted the pocket as 2diamonds. One diamond for the short rail & the 2nd diamond for the long rail. I love this system, but I've never seen the pocket counted as 1diamond. Have I been wrong this whole time?
    Great video & explanation. 😎

    Interesting, and well explained. Thanks for all the tips. One comment though, when you're hitting the short rail (at the balls you've set up on the diamonds) it looks like you're hitting before each ball or diamond. For example, the 7 ball that you had a few attempts at, it looks like you're hitting much closer to the 8 on the short rail than the 7. Maybe it's just the camera angle from where we see?...

    • @danielbass1234
      @danielbass1234 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's because of the angle your shooting from

    • @stevenwood3649
      @stevenwood3649 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You're aiming at the diamond, not the spot where the diamond meets the rail. If you're coming in at a shallow angle, it is going to look like you're hitting way to the side of the diamond, but from the shot line, you're going straight at the diamond.

    In a little confused why The cue ball is actually a diamond ahead of where you’re saying. for instance, when you shoot at #3 the cue ball actually by the side pocket but your shaft is going over the third diamond - So is it where the shaft goes towards the cue ball or is it where the cue ball sits?

    • @jcbones3098
      @jcbones3098 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      In the example you are talking about the cue ball has to be in line with the 3rd diamond on the long rail and with where he had the 3 ball on the short rail. So yes the cue ball will start somewhere in front of the side pocket.
