Mavs have some tough calls to make. Loading up on JT and JB and switching on KP wasnt working well. JT and JB were able to find wide open shooters off drives and KP had crazy mismatches that he could just shoot over with ease. Celtics defenseive gameplan looked solid. Luka is gonna make shots, but limiting his assists not over helping was the key. Mavs will shoot better and make games closer, especially in Dallas where theyre more comfortable. Should be a really good series that goes 6 or 7 I think.
Wemby already look like that, in fact he had even better stretch/games, not in the Playoffs sadly but you’ll soon see him, he’ll have serie averaging 6-7 Blocks, 15 rebounds, completely shutting down the opponent offense, all while being unguardable on offense … Wemby is already better than Porzingis lol, in his prime he won’t score 20pts, 6 rebounds and 3 Blocks like Porzingis, it’ll be 40pts, 18 rebounds, 7 assists, 2 steals and 5 Blocks .. This will be the average Wemby game, insane stats and impact just like prime Bron, MJ, Shaq, Duncan or Jokic, we are talking about a futur GOAT not a star role player like Porzingis .. If Wemby had a super stacked team like Celtics, like let’s say he had Banchero (Who’s on Tatum level imo) at the 4, Ingram (J.Brown) at the 3, Caruso (D.White) at the 2 and Dejounte Murray (Jrue) at the 1 … That team would also be unstoppable 🤷🏾♂️
they starve kyrie and cast, let luka cook, keep going at luka with that hurt knee too make him gas out as well. Gotta bully their opponents in the paint, celtics can't get comfortable on 3s when they are up by 10-20pts
When this Celtics team is shooting well they are completely unstoppable. There is no team in the league that has 5 defenders that can genuinely cover Boston 1 to 1 so there’s no possible way to body all of them because even their bigs can hit 3’s. If you try taking them each 1 on 1, they’ll just screen to get Tatum or Brown a favorable matchup to push the post, if you don’t bring help and collapse on them they’re going to get at the very least a decent look, if you collapse on them they kick the ball out and 1 of the 3 perimeter players will be able to find a wide open man. Really your only hope to defend this team is hope they have a bad night shooting
Every team is unstoppable when everyone is shooting well, but what happens when one or two guys aren't, the opposition knows that and let's then jack up shots and try and drive to the hoop? That's when we'll find out what they're made of.
Celtics have 4 starters that can drive and dish to the open 3 shooter. The Celtics have 5 3 point shooters on the court at all times. The only way they can lose is if they shoot horribly from 3.
@@kifley19 yeah and that happens to every team, shooting goes cold, runs are made. Everyone tries to sound smart with basketball analysis but it's a make or miss league, just about every game comes down to who made their 3s.
@@akshatmisra767 dude just look up a random sample of box scores, who took more 3s, and who made them at a higher clip. You can scheme to get better shots, everybody does and should, but a lot of times when teams lose it's just shots not dropping.
This is basketball pxrn. I never even considered the stronside advantage to having a guard in the strongside dunker spot for a isolation player. Especially having guys that are great decision makers in that position. Also that flare action can be used to seal smaller defenders on switches. JT had Kyrie in jail in one of those possessions last game. Idk how Dallas is going to be able stifle the Celtics offense in this series.
Greatly appreciated this analytical discussion. Most sports talk is too shallow. I’m always interested in hearing these deeper kinds of analysis especially from experts who have done it in such successful basketball careers. Would love to see more of this.

His timing is crazy good and he’s first in the league at lowest opp FG% when he’s under the rim.
This kills the “current era” v. “previous era” debate. The pre-era always leans on being physical, but they were all standing in the paint. Today’s game has 5 players outside the 3 point line, they can all shoot, and most of them are quicker than pre-era players.

Dallas will need to pre-set their defense the same way that Boston did in game 1 so that when the Celtics are running their sets especially their 'horns/flare" Dallas can then switch the flare screen and have the desired matchup that they feel are beneficial to them. Look at who Tatum started off guarding in game 1 and then look what happen as soon as Dallas got into their ball screen action. A+ for the Celtics coaching staff in game 1. Jason Kidd will need to make major adjustments on both sides of the ball moving forward to put his team in a more favorable position to make winning plays.
It's funny when Steve Karr transformed the Golden State Warriors he mentioned obsessing about Pep Barcelona's team and how they play without the ball and with the ball, now joe is doing the same thing by trying to transform the celtics into a team where although you have superstars the team is important and knowing your positions on the court is important just like Pep's man city team now.
The problem is the shooting of the players. You can execute this one but how about the shooting?. Look at dlo vs Denver on and off nights even with no defender
These two are pretty much as smart as it get's, great stuff. Agree that Boston doesn't get enough credit for their passing, watched them in person and was amazed in real life how they work the ball around.
LeBron knows this because he loves the pass because he likes to be surrounded by shooters. A younger version of LeBron would have gotten a couple of chips with this Boston roster.
They played the right way nearly every game all season. They built up not only habits, but they made it second nature to do what's best for the overall team effort. They don't play anybody who isn't an NBA rotation quality player outside of garbage time. Few teams don't have at least 1 or 2 guys that have everybody hoping they can "get through" this minutes unscathed. Teams built like that win playoff series more often than not.
Arguably the GOAT sounds like he knows more about the games of other players than any other players and he's probably the player that could get by without knowing. It just amazes me to listen to him. One intelligent dude.

Lebron is right. They have 4 guys in the starting lineup that can drive and dish. Makes it hard to guard all of them and on top of that all 5 players can shoot 3's. Jalen Brown and Tatum can create their own shot whenever and Jrue and Derrick White can do it sometimes as well. Also, they can all switch on guard and wings on defense making it hard on the offense. The only way they lose a game is if they shoot poorly from 3. Kyrie and Luka have to score 30+ for them to even have a chance. Celtics in 4 or 5.

And he still got the bag twice lol
him as iso guy? lol he was never iso guy....iguodala was running pg, tf you are saying, also ai was still in philly 2009-2010...he plays same way in boston as he played in philly...reason he is a great fit.
Draymond said it the best one time
something along the lines of, every NBA player was among the best on their HS/College team and most could do everything exceptionally well, but to be great NBA player, its about being specialist, and being the best in what is asked from you, not in every aspect of the game
Wrong. His best year there before they decided to tank Jrue had the keys and was known for his quickness and crossover he wasn’t posting up small guards like he does now. You don’t know what you’re talking about
@@postboygokuu6779 what keys idiot?? Iggy was running pg for sixers till he left, jru played pg only when iggy was subbed out. I watched sixers games a lot in the past when he was a rookie. I will be first to say congratulations JJ for being lakers head coach best of luck
To you, now let’s get that chip
JJ is so dedicated to podcasting he's in a lot of pods
JJ said he wanted to show the game the right way, he's consistent in all his platforms with that message.
I respect it
Who’s here after jj reddick got signed
I think JJ passed this job interview from Lebron with flying colors. Welcome to the Lakers Coach Reddick!
You called it.
This whole pod was JJ's interview for the Laker coaching job
I said the same thing. That ball movement and kicking it out is crazy
Here after lakers 3-0
Here after their 4-4 😂
@@ye87Guess what bud 10-4
that first half stretch by porzingis will be what prime wemby look like
Porzingis is kinda what OKC hopes Chet Holmgren will be.
So stacked now that KP is back. Basically a much better Rudy who spaces the floor to 30 ft.
Man I really liked this pod too. Hopefully it comes back one day.
Even as a celtics fan, we have seen what luka can do🤷🏽♂️, just as long as they shut his help down i think the celtics can win
I also feel like we're gonna win because Luka is t helsthy his knee was bothering him yesterday
they starve kyrie and cast, let luka cook, keep going at luka with that hurt knee too make him gas out as well.

@@DavidLee-cw6ci or just say you can't keep up with the analysis. These are NBA players those nights are few and infrequent.
BRON has grown on me the past 2 years. I knew he was smart on the basketball court but off the court dissecting a game he's better than most of these coaches in the NBA let's be honest. I COULD listen to BRON and JJ for hours and hours !

Been a Celtics fan since I was young and have lived in Dallas my whole life. I would love to see Doncic get a ring, but this Celtics team is one of the best they've had in decades. No offense to the big three but as a team this version is deeper and better. Gonna be over in 5

@@RocknRobby 🤣🤣🤣☘️☘️ we love that dude in Boston! People forget how good he is. Injuries is what messes him up, dude is an elite big man and the best shooting big man in the league.
Does not end anything you cant grab and pull in this era so its not the same. You can't knock people out the air. If you can't hand check michael jordan hes avg 50 easy work 😂😂😂😂

The main reason the Celtics are consistently a top defense is because they get players they know will communicate.
this man really got hired based on this podcast wow
Stunning description and narration from LeBron James of how the Boston Celtics play basketball. It puts the commentators to shame.
So this podcast was to basically get JJ a coaching job 😂
It’s pretty clear that LeBron is very comfortable talking strategy with Redick.
Their team effort and the sincronization they have themselves, stars and role players are synced and focused on a mission to win their 18th chip.
Wow I actually learned more than any other videos from these two great players!
I wish the rest of the Lakers understood this
The players and the coaches probably do. The problem is the front office and ownership.
The problem is the shooting of the players. You can execute this one but how about the shooting?.
Look at dlo vs Denver on and off nights even with no defender
THEE single greatest hidden in plain sight job interview ever! This was an audcast.😂
The JJ Redick, Rob Pelinka calendar is going to be LIT
These two are pretty much as smart as it get's, great stuff. Agree that Boston doesn't get enough credit for their passing, watched them in person and was amazed in real life how they work the ball around.
The offense is great but omg that defense they absolutely locked down Dallas
Nice Job interview JJ!
I wonder how this Boston team would stack up against the prime Warriors or prime Spurs of the 2000’s and 2010 decades.
Congratulations JJ!! Going to be a great coach!!
LeBron knows this because he loves the pass because he likes to be surrounded by shooters. A younger version of LeBron would have gotten a couple of chips with this Boston roster.
Wow - I can't get enough of listening to JJ. The way this is filmed showing his hands on the whiteboard is super cool.
In hindsight, this was JJ's interview for the Lakers job.
He knows more than alot of the coaches too😂😂
@@waltjones6927 He does and so did Jordan and Magic and Bird and maybe a few others. It must be a challenge to "coach" a player like that - more like "manage". Phil Jackson was the master of it.

So is this pod ever coming back?😅
Lebron is right.
Crazy he mentioned the Jrue shoulder. He bodied PJ last night, after I saw that I realized Dallas is done

Besides that defensive backcourt, they have 2 big athletic swingmen and a squad who can space the floor at all 5 spots.
