My friend and I have been commissioned to paint a mural on the outside wall of a local business and I'm terrified. I really don't want to mess it up. This video was extremely helpful. Thank you!
In high school I started a art club, and decided to paint a mural. We worked really hard on in, when a graduated that year they painted over all our hard work!!
Sam yeah, I draw it and I get proud of myself. Then I look at it more. I erase something and I fix it. I look at it more. I erase something and try to fix it but then I messed it up
I did a mural for my best friend's boyfriend using a beamer. And I had a picture in a book as a reference for the colours. I used acrylic paint for it. Thanks to your video the next mural will be much more epic. Thank you very much, Jazza, for giving so good advices! Greetings from Germany
Years ago in high school I was asked to do a mural for them. I never thought of using a projector. That's brilliant. Probably head back over there and see if they still want it.
It can be good, OR a pain in the ass, be aware of 2 things, 1 - it casts an annoying shadow the whole time, and 2 - the picture can distort based on where it's placed, or move.
Yeah a projector sounds great in theory and less time consuming than creating a grid but a grid also just seems so damn effective and you have good lighting! Thanks for the vid!
I noticed that too. When he starts getting a little more relaxed towards the end of the video you can here a bit of today's Jazza come out. I think he was nervous or maybe not quite comfortable in front of the camera. It's sort of like having a "phone voice" and a "normal voice" where you tend to talk differently in different settings. Ex: My voice loses it's southern accent and gets higher in pitch when I talk to people I don't know very well.
I noticed that, too. He sounds very Australian in this video but not as much in other videos. I know he's Australian, but his accent is way more obvious.
I’m painting a Toy Story mural at the moment and had been trying to figure out the best way to transfer the drawing to the wall. I ended up drawing it to scale on thin paper and flipping the paper on to the wall, then scribble over the back to transfer the pencil lines to the wall. I worked really well and was much quicker. Also, regarding the permanent marker outlines and the difference in contrast between the paint and pen, I’m using POSCA paint markers. These solve that problem. A great video and a fantastic mural! 👍
GOD YOU ARE PERFECT, I ALWAYS THOUGHT I WASNT AN ARTIST ENOUGH SINCE EVERY BODY MAKE IT SEEM SO EASY AND QUICK, BUT YOU AND I PAINT THE EXACT SAME WAY...THANK YOU
Jazza, this is freaking excellent. So many good personalities on that mural. Well worth the effort I would say. Keep up the good work, much respect from England
I agreed to do a mural like this on my nephew's bedroom wall. After watching this, I'm really regretting it. :P Thanks for making this video. It's gonna be a huge help! :)
Kick ass dude! Lots of great 411 here. I've been painting 6X6 pieces on canvas so far, and just absorbing information to graduate to a larger size over time. Just started painting this month for the first time :)
Finally jumping off the computer onto a wall soon, how awesome is it to get on youtube and watch a video from Jazza while he paints a shrine to Newgrounds on a wall. I see you're doing well mate, and that made my day. Let's see if I have any flash to wall skills now :P
This is awesome!! One of my favorite things about this channel is your background with Newgrounds. The site really influenced my work growing up, and the way I drew, and its cool to see you guys who made all of the things I loved doing well and still showing off all of the old things that made Newgrounds great. Love your work, Jazza!
You are just amazing...camed in the right moment ...thanks a lot for your video... I just wanted to paint the Thailand beach in my small room... Thank you..and wish good luck.
i was asked to do a Mural and I've only done for myself in my own home so this was an incredible video and It helped me to improve many things! thank you so much, I really needed this exactly!
jazza you are a serious inspiration to me, ive only just started to watch your videos but im already in love with you, im going to study animation at uni next year and watching your videos have given me the push i needed to pursue what i really love doing, thank you loads :) oh and love the mural by the way, thinking of doing one myself and yeah space pirates are extremely awesome
I have to do a 3 feet by 5 feet mural for my school. Im not a fan of painting but this video has helped a lot with how I'm going to go about it and has given me more confidence. Thank you :)
Absolutely amazing. i was looking for a Video to help me on this. Your video is a 10 Star rating for sure. You explained everything i needed to know, down to using a knife to remove the tape at the end. Thank very much for making this video for us.
I'm so glad I found this video now! iv just finished drawing a life-sized picture of deadpool on my bedroom wall and I'm just about to start painting him next week.
Painting tip: if you're gonna have to repaint some part of your mural(hopefully not) or just repaint your house, you'll notice that paint comes off very hard. So, before painting you can wash you hands with soap just like you normally wash but when you're about removing all the soap from your hands - don't do it. let it dry. and then paint. after you finish all the painting work and your hands are all dirty because of paint just wash your hands. Soap, that you didn't remove and let it dry, made you a layer. when you wash your hands all the paint will come off with that soap-layer. Just realised that you may have known this but i'm posting this anyway so your subscribers can see this. (duh)
One tip I would add from when I did a mural for my kids room is if you are right handed - work left to right. I found it easier to rest my hand on the wall without worrying about smudging anything.

How'd it go!?
We started, but when winter hit we couldn't finish. So far it's going great!
+Tyler Smith how is it now? (Any completion??)
Sweet background! The colors really pop nicely without drowning you out. :)
Thank you! I'm glad it seems to have worked out well :)
Draw with Jazza...and that's how I learned to draw when I was 8, by doing scale drawings!!! brought back many memories when I saw the grid. 😊

In high school I started a art club, and decided to paint a mural. We worked really hard on in, when a graduated that year they painted over all our hard work!!
IamTheLifesSoul why would they...painting a mural is serious hard work
IamTheLifesSoul dude that suckssssss.
Do you ever have the problem where when you've drawn something and the more you look at it the more you find problems with it?
Sam yeah, I draw it and I get proud of myself. Then I look at it more. I erase something and I fix it. I look at it more. I erase something and try to fix it but then I messed it up
Sam I only get that feeling with old drawings from at least a few months ago.
Sam Why do you have my name
Баничка С Боза , are you bulgarian?😂 ас обичам Баничка С Боза.
Ps: I am bulgarian
It's like: ah perfect I'm done, then you start looking back and it's like :meh then you look at it longer and start erasing like mad

im using a projector for ny next one hope it works 👍
You're awesome, Jazza. Keep doing what you do.
I would be too scared to do this, I would mess up right before it's finished and then I would just hate myself forever.
That's just part of the process dude don't let it stop you!
One small mistake doesn't ruin weeks of work, man :D Just do it and have fun doing it!
No no no, it's not that, it's the fact....He could have to move out
Good thing it's paint 🎨. I'm sure you could paint over it once your mistake dries.
Same but I would have mess up as soon as I start
Jazza looks so young in this video. Thank you mural, you've been a lovely home.
Why does his Australian accent seem more Australian in this than it is nowadays

Thanks for advice jazza, i plan on doing a mural in my room simply because it's just so boring. This video was really helpful
One tip I would add from when I did a mural for my kids room is if you are right handed - work left to right. I found it easier to rest my hand on the wall without worrying about smudging anything.
