Also if you find problems with animating a specific effect, try to film a real footage of what you want to animate. eg. waving a cloth. and work on it's structure. Observing is key, after a while it comes natural.
You're a great animator Jazza. I'd love to see more cartoons from you but I know that shit takes time and you're already busy teaching us how to invest in some ballsy techniques to improve our animations. On a side note, I've been animating over a decade and still find it tricky to animate cloth. Thanks for schooling a a grown up kid who happens to be in the schoolyard of youtube.
I'm so happy I came across this! I'm currently animating a character who wears a cloak/cape thing... And it would've been even harder to do without some advice.
I'm impressed man. I'm a budding 2d/3d animator too, and I love how the same principles apply to both. I actually like how it's kinda easier in 2d than it is in 3d.
Hey Jazza , just as a recomandation could you please put the song titles in the description , because some of the somgs are really enjoyable and nice.Nice job with the animation
I've found a cheap way of animating with using IbisPaint X (a mobile app) and KinMaster another app also. Very good if you can't afford the proper animating programs. All you have to know is how to draw things and how the movements are drawn to help make the animation look good once it's done. That's why I'm studying the movement of how a spinning skirt of dress is drawn or just how it works so I know how to draw it into my animation. This will be my very first hand drawn digital animation if I can actually finish a project!!! LOL.... That's the trouble I have. I start projects then like Leonardo da Vinci I almost never finish them ^^'.
How about if it's not connected to anything? A free flowing cloth object in the wind... then their is no head or tail no? That's what I'm trying to figure out right now
Neing the 2nd viewer really makes me think about my life.. here I am at 1pm, laying in a bathrobe on my bed, still needing to get ready for today, on a monday... oh well
Would this work for something such as a cape? I would think so, but I want to make sure :) I am making an animation of a character who has a cape, so yeah.
Can you show how to make perfect character parts cutouts for use in programs like spine? I have a problem understanding how joints can be made to rotate seamlessly to seem like they were hand-drawn.
Seems a bit complicated for a beginner shouldn't you start with doing the extrems, the breakdown first and then do the inbetweens? You seem to make all at once which is ok for a prof but beginner do struggle with it.
If you mean things drawn with pen and paper, just take a picture/scan what you've drawn and trace over it in Flash or a program of your choice. Not that much work. I personally enjoy sketching out things on paper and then finishing off digitally.
I've just started using Anime Studio debut 8 and I'm having trouble animating a jpeg that i have drawn. Is there a way to animate a jpeg without separating it into layers and bone rigging each layer individually?

Very good advice here, just want to point it out. :)
good advice !!
I find myself coming back here when I have animation/Flash (or Animate now) questions. Thank you for all you do Mr. Jazza.

***** Man I'm scared shitless of 3d animation, so props to you for finding it easier. Everytime i tried to mess with it, it never went well.

For a moment, I was nearly dumb enough to ask the question, "why didn't you just put the cloth on a back layer
Lol how dumb..."
