I'd love to get my hands on the 1997 DVD, it's the original unaltered transfer. All releases starting with the 25th anniversary edition DVD from 1998 to the recently released 4K all have the blue tint during the exorcism scenes.

I have that 1979 clamshell VHS (and Exorcist II clamshell) and that first LD release. I used to have that 1990 VHS but I sold it when I bought the VYNS DVD, I also have that anthology blu ray set and the SF blu rays of Exorcist 2-3. I bought the 4K with the ugly cover lol.

The Best Buy steelbook is only version I have and I won’t upgrade to the current lackluster 4k transfer release!

I ended up getting the UK medium deluxe edition that isn't the bible, but it had everything else. The og poster art was a must, and of course the blu rays with the special features. Love the swag, and I prefer the theatrical cut. As for the 4K, it ended up being a mix bag for me. At times it looked fantastic, other times it looked nuked with the colors overblown. What really struck me as WTF was the entire exorcism was given a very weird revised look to it. It looked soft and the colors were strange. I wasn't sure what to think except that the pivotal scene looked better on the BD. I was shocked that Friedkin wanted it to look that way.

I thought it was interesting too. I mean. I always kinda don’t like what’s different than what I’m used to. But I also kinda like seeing movies different because I’m so used to seeing them a certain way.
@@Born2BeRad Heck yeah, bro. Physical always. I hate what they're trying to do with our media. I don't want to "own" a digital copy or rely on streaming. There's no ownership, flaky quality, and you don't know if it'll still be on there. Not to mention the price gouging. 4K is my ceiling, but I'm getting every classic and favorite childhood to adulthood as I can. Still waiting on my Conan Chronicles because I'm an idiot that pre-ordered from Amazon because of the price. February 20th. Lame, and so not rad.
