I like how you always address making your choice in activities based on what's sustainable for you to do and taking the slow approach. I struggle with consistency, and situations where I need to do more in a shorter amount of time always throws me off balance and it takes too long to recollect myself. But the more I remind myself that others make things work by taking baby steps, the easier it is to take a deep breath and try again--even rebooting with fewer things than I left off with is better than getting flustered.
I love that you always make time to walk and be in nature, so many self made people and creators work super long and never take a break. It’s not healthy or sustainable!
I’ve been trying to be more productive in growing my art and animation skills, so this came at a really good time. It was really insightful to see how you balance your time in a healthy way that works for you. Sometimes I get so focused on improving now instead of pacing myself for the long journey.
*7:30* I really appreciate the true influencer or inspirational person you are. Honestly speaking you spoke about the most common personality traits of anyone who is hardworking and has a clear vision and goals set in life.

Hi Mimi, thank you for this video. I can rely so much on working on projects we enjoy, no procrastination there and it's needed for artists who work a lot 🙂 I also found a way to walk like you, to my kids school every day. We do everything on foot in my town.

I am a painter and run a business and I follow so many of the same ideologies you do -- not forcing myself to work on something and follow my whims as its more productive and I know I will get back to the other things with more energy if I force it, as well as taking time off when I need and working when I want even on weekends. Hey Mimi! I’m so happy that you and Dan work together to create these amazing videos! But for someone who works alone and has to draw, film, edit themselves, do you have any advice? Actually I’d love to see your filming and editing process.
Whenever I have to make videos on my own (which isn't often fortunately for me) I make sure to keep things simple! At the end of the day I remind myself that I'm making free videos for TH-cam so they don't have to be polished, as long as I get the value across that I wanted to provide. Simple filming and simple editing still go a very long way 😊
Whichbrand is your laptop? I am looking for one that I can use as a drawing tablet but also as a laptop.

May I ask how your work week looked like before you started earning sufficient income? Were you working more to build your community and products and now can have this "slower" time thanks to that? I definitely worked a lot more before this year, because I felt like I needed to generate sufficient income as soon as possible. It was still always projects that I was excited about though so it didn't always feel like 'work' but the plan was always to slow down a bit once I was earning enough 😊
