Yes, I try to find always something different to film, but I feel so awkward watching it over and over, hearing myself so much times, while I try to make it work😆
hi mimi.. I've been watching your video for about 3 months i think. ... and i really love your videos. its very positive and i learn a lot. I'm was inspired to do arts again after a long time..😊thank you so much your such an inspiration to me ..😊
Mimi! You're such a generous creator. All of your videos are just jam packed with valuable info and advice from your experience. I also love that you show the real side of being a creative that runs a multi-faceted business. I LOVED the shots of the camera box tree contraption thing that you started out filming videos with. 😄 ❤
Hello Mimi Loving your helpful and informative videos especially because you are so open and honest about your journey. How do you protect your work while so avidly putting it out there?
Great tips, working on my fourth video now and trying to improve each time, bit by bit in different ways. There's so much to learn. Being on camera is def the hardest part for me. Thank you
I'm having to be careful about using a script. My hubby noticed I lose my conversational voice when I read, but man do I miss my scripts 😅 I too want to say everything well! I'll get the hang of it soon enough 😋
Awe I love the lil illustration you made of Dan! I also love these little behind the scene videos. Like I love your videos in general, but these are so helpful and down to earth as sometimes TH-cam can come across as easy when there’s a whole production process. I also need to script out things too because I can get distracted when I talk 😅 I never thought about a keyword title search site either! Such a helpful video. Thank you.
This rules, thank you for sharing! I feel like yall always keep it real and don't try to present something that's not how it actually is. So thank you!
I would like to share my art journey as a Countryball artist 🇵🇭🎨 For entire year, I've been drawing my country which is Philippines, in a very small canvas. Not only my nation but other countries in one canvas 🎨. It pretty exhausted, and it's hard to value altogether. Worst part I don't even know their culture a lot. It's much better if you focus mostly on what your country is. You can do what you can because it is where I belong 🇵🇭 Start with a specific niche before you jump into sub niches. If you are a countryball artist like me. You are an expert of what country you are from 🎉
Such a cool insight into how you and Dan do things! Loved this and would love to see more if you are up for sharing. Personally, I'm just getting started on TH-cam - trying to build a community and drive traffic to my art shops and classes 💜 Currently, I am loving just filming my art process and then adding a voiceover later because it is much less pressure! haha! Hoping to add more types of content soon. Thanks for your helpful advice, Mimi!
I’m curious if Dan has tried the new text-based editing in Premiere! It saves me so much time with cutting down voice overs and removing pauses. Such a life saver😅 I’m always so impressed by your teamwork - what a great system you’ve designed!
Great video on making videos! I think this is the most footage of Dan we've had in a video as well, lol. As someone who's edited videos before, it's def a lot of work and cool to see his work flow for the kinds of videos that you create for your channel. One tip for number 4- do be cautious of using natural light (whether indoors or outdoors) as many lower grade apertures can have difficulty getting enough light info- the image can be grainy or pixelly. If filming with a DSLR, check your lighting settings (and experiment with settings!) to ensure that your camera is getting enough light info, and invest in a video card (or a memory card with the highest class and highest amount of memory possible) to get the best results- I learnt that one the hard way. Many smart phone cameras have greatly improved, but can sometimes be dumb and think theyre in a flourescent setting when it's just a brightly sunlit white room.
Great vid! I’m grateful that you shared how you make your titles. I’m going to have to check that out. I feel like I’m making great thumbnails but I’m never sure if my title is good.
This was so interesting to watch! My filming and editing process is actually pretty similar and I always wondered what other people’s processes are like 🥰🤓 At the moment I‘m trying to upgrade my filming set up bit by bit and next up is definitely proper lighting and audio (especially since winter is pretty dark where I live) 😄🎥
Oh that's so good to know your process is similar! Having some simple lights can make filming soo much easier, we had a light when we were more stationary but now that we're travelling we don't have one with us. We just have to make sure that we have lots of natural light which can be a bit tricky sometimes!
Great video! So interesting to see your process on all stages. Also for me, it takes much time, and I agree with the re-watching after export. I'm currently preparing a vlog from a trip and a little instructory video on printmaking, so I'll be working on the thumbnails soon this week. Have a nice sunday!
Hello Mimi (: I'm always really thankful for your videos, I was wondering if you got used to your ipad? I have always use pc and android and Im not sure if getting one is a good move 🤔 I would like to learn procreate but I'm not sure if it is a game charger or not so much. My best wishes for u 😊
Hey I'm an begginer I just Stated doing digital art on ibispaintx I really enjoyed it and I want to know that how could you edit your vedios in your smart phone 📱❣️ easily could you please help me in this way it'll definitely means a lot to me 💕
Hi mimi.. may i know what type of laptop are you using ? And do you use adobe photoshop at the most for illustrate ? Because i want to use adobe since it is a vector art, which is mean no matter you need to resize or move the part you want..it wont be getting blurry, but i have a difficulty in using mouse to illustrate, thats why i interested in watching you draw on the laptop using the pen
I used to make videos about games and still do from time to time and always been looking for parts to cut out unnecessary parts. I also have been thinking about recording live recording my desk from top down but im not sure what kind of tool i need for that.
Do you make videos as well? Let us know what your favourite or least favourite part of the process is!
I make videos ~ my favourite part is actually watching it back lol! and my least favourite part is having to speed up the footage
I'm so excited to see this part of the business.... its where I'm most scared to start
Same!
I do! Probably figuring out lighting. I never feel confident that I got it right.
Yes, I try to find always something different to film, but I feel so awkward watching it over and over, hearing myself so much times, while I try to make it work😆
Would love to see more of Dan's work and how he animates in the videos!
And also the font he uses! Thanks for sharing btw. ❤

THANK YOU for sharing this.
Nice video! I'm just beginning my TH-cam channel and there is a lot to learn. Thank you for sharing your process.
this is a great video! super useful tips👏
Favorite is making something new (art) and learning something new (editing.) Filming and editing is also the hardest…!
Yess I also find editing tricky!
