What is the 603s capability with a decent pump and turbo setup ? I love the channel and want to get into an 0m606 but they aren't the most easy to come by in the States I see alot of the later models for cheap
Hi, I'm from germany and I am interested in upgrading my pump like in your video. What does it round about cost to have it done like in the video. Also I would like to know if it's possible to pass the emission test with this kind of tuning? Thanks and keep on with your videos, it's always a pleasure to watch!
@@JoeHeine unfortunately looking through this channel, they have removed the video where Luke puts up a pathetic video where there was an issue between DPUK and dieselmeken where DPUK was authorised to create pump parts but kept all the profits or some shitty behaviour. I have this same motor in my ‘92 350 GD. It’s terribly slow off the line and has virtually no power when on the highway going uphill. I have it loaded down with gear (I use it for Overlanding), so some performance downturn is to be expected. I’d love to get some more power, though. My question is by doing a mild upgrade like seen here, does the reliability of the engine stay high, and do I have to upgrade anything other than the pump to withstand the power gains and keep things from breaking?
How did you get the intake manifold off? Tips would be appreciated! Some screw's are a pain in the ass to get to. Aswell as torque it to specs when putting it together again.
Can you also do this to a OM602? Will the fuel consumption increase? I have heard that removing the alda cab also increase hp. Is it better to remove the alda or the element or the two?
Hello Luke i have question! Can i fit just turbo pump from om602 to NA om 602 without conecting alda! I just want little power gain without complications turbo installation!

He changed the elements from like 5.5mm to 6mm and put a more reliable and simple alda. The alda moves a rod in the injection pump to add fuel or lessen for altitude fuel adjustment. But he coulda have adjusted it alot more in this video if he wanted more power.

Not heard about any particular horror stories with the OM603 here in Scandinavia. Those cars now typically got 400-600.000 km, which are still on the road. Cars here rusts away long before issues with the engines, usually. It's a colder climate. In a warmer climate and/or driving the engine hard and fast (Autobahn) there be higher risk of issues with the cylinder head cracking and such. If one drives 'normal', and take care of letting the engine warm and cool off slowly/evenly, it should work alright for a long time.

hola saludos desde Argentina tengo un W124 con OM 603 y estoy enamorado de este motor consultá es cuántos hp se le pueden exigir a los pistones y bielas originales gracias saludos
Different RPM.s Looking at the RWHP I see a gain of only 33 hp, about 33% adjusted the starting numbers up slightly for rpm. What I don't understand is how you lose so much HP between the Motor and the Rear Wheels on the modified. Unmodified, the loss is 25 Hp, modified the losses are nearly 55 hp. Something is not right here. My guess is your machine is not accurate estimating RWHP. zAlso comparing HP at different RPMs is not an accurate test. A 1/3 increase in HP is still nice.
Dennis Hedlund well done, however, that’s well over the turbos 1.6 bar efficiency threshold so no points for the pressure but power is ok. The point of this modification was to keep good reliability on all the factory components.
2:57 I didn't know half of the addictive mercedes diesel sound actually comes from the pump itself.
Great! Exactly what i needed to see, I want to leave everything stock except the pump. Nice to see these results.
I was surprised that it was just the pump upgraded without a turbo upgrade. So awesome!
