Thankyou for watching!!! I'm going to be doing a stream in a few hours on twitch to go over this video and take some of your lore questions, so get some prepared! See you soon! twitch.tv/damo279
@@videogames1206 I currently have an explainer and all the cutscenes uploaded for Dark Road, and will do the same thing when the rest of it is uploaded :)
Hello Damo279. I just wanted to give my appreciation to you for making this video. I've seen your others videos on KH X, KH Unchained, KH Back Cover, and KH Union X. Thanks to you I got a full understanding of the story for these games now and now I'm hyped for KH4 or another prequel for Kingdom Hearts. I wanna say once again thank you for making this video I've really enjoyed it :). Can't wait for more Dark Road from you and much more from you. :)
Thank you so much for putting this video together. Kingdom Hearts has been a part of life since I was 8. My love of the series, admittedly, borders on autistic levels of obsession. I know the lore inside and out in regards to what’s contained within all the other games, and the implications of certain events and actions; both toward the past and into the future of the series but KHX alluded me. Though not for lack of trying. 😄 So, thank you again for putting this together.
I have a small lingering hope that it will be remade into a potential console title because of these reasons. It’s just way too important to the whole series story.
@@Baralaiokay but 358/2? Days is only theater mode so I don’t think it’s moving to console. But I agree this changed how I understand the series I e only played dark road bc it’s the only mobile game with severs up rn. I just thought “huh xeonort took ventus to the island he grew up on AND it’s Destiny Islands?? That’s a little heavy handed” Also thinking that norty boy is too big for his britches thinking he’s the child of destiny. Nope I’m starting to think he is.
The story is so convoluted, that I had no idea wtf you meant by this, and I had to think about it lmao. But yeah, I guess our character in X ends up being xahanort which whoops us (Sora) in the main games lol
@@ssgsaxgamer4902 actually it gets more convoluted xehanort is not the player character reincarnated he is only seeing his memories the hooded man who raised him is the player character reincarnated
you are an absolute saint. I couldn't play through this game just because of the time required, but have always loved the story of it. You've made it so much easier to digest and enjoy
You’re speaking for most of the fan base if I had to hazard a guess. I’ve been a devout fan of the series since I saw the first commercial for the first game back when I was a kid. Followed every bit of the story, played every game, grasped at every bit of info I could just to date my hunter for the story…but for the life of me I couldn’t get through this whole game. This has been a life saver.
Ux has turned out to be such an important entry in the series going forward, but it's a shame most fans aren't gonna experience it. Maybe it will serve as the basis for the rumored KH animated series? If they did it in the style of Back Cover, that would be a dream come true.
I kind of just hope they make another movie like back cover to explain everything else now that strelizia is in kh4 I knew I needed to come back and try to understand this shit lol
The plot of UX is miles more interesting than 3's. I wonder if some part of that was the demand of needing to have all of the disney fanservice in the main titles. The small amount in UX feels like it actually belongs to the narrative.
This series really needs a movie or show so people can digest it in a reasonable manner. 4 whole mobile games being the basis for your plot going forward for what will prolly be at least another decade of games is just unacceptable.
I think this is a great idea but wouldn’t this alienate most of the audience? Although since this takes place thousands of years before even BBS, not a lot of prior commitment is needed.
“We don’t see what happens, but the implications are huge” might as well be the tag line for the uX finale. And honestly, “big implications” almost feels like an understatement lol. So excited to see those loose ends tied up one day.
Nomura said in the Ultimatum that "the reason the foretellers are there is the same reason Ventus is there" so it seemed after the keyblade war the master of master took them and used a seperate set of lifeboats to send them forward in time to the events of KH3
This'll basically be the definitive way for newcomers to get a condensed recap of the X saga until Square Enix [hopefully] decides to make a proper Unreal Engine 4/5 movie recap. Amazing work as always Damo 👏🏿
Yknow when I got into kingdom hearts I didn’t expect to find myself at “this immortal chaotic good man is gonna emotionally manipulate his students into amassing individual armies of child soldiers who would fight to the death and cause the fucking rapture, all to create a new world that could potentially last longer than the previous”
Thank you so much for this!!! It’s upsetting that a good chunk of lore, the backbone of KH, is in a “stupid” mobile game. I tried getting into it but I just couldn’t. Im so glad you took time to do this and looking forward to more.
So the intital reactions for the Dream Eaters are definitely a "what the fuck" reaction, but I think that there's something bitter sweet about it. Sora in future ends up going to the Sleeping Realm and encountering the Dream Eaters, but remember something about Sora. Sora is a person who can make freinds with just about anyone. He's touched the hearts of countless people and even non people! This means Sora has unknowningly made freinds with hundreds of unfortunate kids who probably needed it most. And I think something somberingly beautiful about that.
I both love and hate this game, it’s such a beautiful piece of fiction but at the same time there was really no need to make the KH plot more convoluted than it already was. Now that reincarnation is a thing in this universe, I have a bad feeling what implications this has for our current day characters and I really hope it’ll just be a thematic thing within X and not bleed into the current ongoing plot. I would hate for Sora to be a reincarnated Ephemer or whatever as his whole thing is that he’s not a Chosen One. He became the main protagonist by circumstance and his own willpower. It would just lessen Sora’s agency if he was destined to be a great keyblade wielder regardless of his actions through the entire franchise so far.
This times a thousand. I think the interconnectedness of all the characters is getting to be a bit much and this would be an added layer of absurdity. Can’t anyone just be a totally new character without some crazy keyblade war backstory
I agree. Everything after KH3 seemed to try its hardest to make Xehanort a hero, and it's such a waste of the character. It's good to know a bit of his past with Eraqus, but making him a "misguided goodguy" in the end KH3, a pawn of MoM in Re:mind, and now the reincarnation of MC from KHUX is too much. It seems all characters from KH now existed in the past and future in some way or another. It's such a shame, since these games marveled as character driven narrative, but ever since DDD the lore seemed more important.
I'm so grateful that you made a video explaining everything! Now I'm even more baffled as to why they would include such important and mind-blowing lore into a mobile game that hardly anyone would play. I gave it a good go, but my motivation to play it was always inconsistent. I wish I'd been able to experience this story first-hand, but this was definitely the next best thing.
I hoping they make a movie or miniseries or bring the Lore into viedo games and retell it. Or simply buy this video and put it into recap in the games.
This video helped challenge something that I took for granted, which was that it seemed like for Master Ava's task of bringing the Dandelions into a new world to help keep light alive, the execution of that was pretty weak- Instead of a shiny new world, they were trapped in simply a dream-data duplicate. There was no real light, only digital copies of worlds. Then, when they escaped, only one Dandelion actually helped build the new world, Ephemer (building Scala ad Caelum), while the other Dandelions were trapped in the data world or sent elsewhere in time and space. But I had forgot something. The Master of Masters was DISHONEST about what his true goals were. He never wanted to rebuild a new world with the Union Leaders, or not primarily. He was goading the remaining Darknesses into the data world as a trap and self-destructing it. What was the sacrifice of a few hundred more children when thousands had already killd each other in battles?- And they wouldn't even lose their hearts, just be put to sleep. I thought it odd that this grand plan for a new world of light after the end would be presumedly based in data technology housed in a tower that would go through the end of the world, and find itself ruined, and suspended upside down submerged in water. But that was the point. The data world was MEANT to collapse, taking the Darkness with it. Hoo... boy... yikes...
Based the knowledge that the dandelions that went to sleep. That would explain the spirits and dream eaters that exist in DDD. My headcannon is that the stronger a heart is, the stronger the charithy's new form with the keyblade wielder would become. It makes sense that Sora and Riku can tame and collect spirits because they housed hearts.
I really like MoM as a character. An enigma and guy who seems to want to do the ultimate good but man if he doesn’t do a lot of heinous acts so flippantly you could be forgiven thinking he is THE Big Bad Evil Guy for KH.
I love damo because the UX story is actually really good but Nomura, and square really just made it such a mess to follow and I am glad we have someone like this man who steps up and helps his fandom who loves it no matter what, I truly feel Damo is piece of the KH story now because without him so many people would fall off or not watch thank you brother truly.
I’ve not watched or played through KHUX but I wouldn’t go as far as to say nomura has made a mess of the story. It’s more or less that long unique stories have to get messy. You can’t really tell a long story without it getting messy.
Can I just say these videos are truly so so helpful for the ppl who couldn’t play the mobile games. Like I have Kingdom Hearts 2.8 and so I have access to Backcover, but the scenes are the foretellers only and leaves out a few things and I couldn’t keep up with the mobile game so these really make sure diehard fans can still stay on top of the lore. I’ve been going through your other videos and it’s really helping my entire playthrough of the series. So thank you.
The madlad has done it yet again. Looking forward to watching this. Your work has been seen by a considerable amount of content creators getting caught up with the series. Glad to see you getting deserved recognition
I knew immediately in KH3 after Yen Sid said "May your Heart be your Key" that the mobile game was being implemented into it. Just like every game that isn't numbered. I told myself: "Greeaaaat, that's years of gaming I don't wanna do." And here you are condensing more than 8 years of gaming, updates, patience and pain into one hour's worth of many people's time. For that I thank you deeply. Here's a sub, and can't wait to see what happens with Dark Road.
Although the game is all cutsecenes now. If you play game you will get 100, 5 min long cutsecenes presented to you. This 1 hour long summery is not gonna make you love the characters in union X and there are a lot of them. The player being the most important for he is the main villian until kh 3.
@@sarthakarora3212 Xehanort being player's reincarnation does not really bring much into either character. They could as well be separate entities and not much would change.
@@Yurikon3 if you think that then you are ignoring author intent and xehanort calling people from his past life his friends. And he is shown to be a friendly kid that has trouble understanding others, just like the player, who only did what he was told until his friend was persumed killed and he waa going to murder the persumed killer even though he was up against the law and knew it was only for revenge that will cause needless sacrifices. Both of them will go the dark path if need be, both of them were defeathed from a key beam, both of them wielded darkness for a good cause in their view. The only difference is xehanort is more extreme and since he is going to end the world anyway by reseting it why care about the harm he does? They are the same person and no way xehanort in kh3 doesn't have all his memories as the player.
@@sarthakarora3212 Author intention or not, it doesn't really deliver. In actual narrative Xehanort's thoughts and action can simply be taken as his own. Of course parallels might exist but honestly being "nice kid" is kinda general aspect that it doesn't really add anything to Xehanort's character. The problem with Xehanort is just how his character is presented and no matter what author's intention was, if execution does not work, incarnation aspect is just planted over aspect. You can remove reincarnation and both X and player are just two differing people connected in roundabout way. Xehanort's history or decisions do not really carry over onto his acting in such a believable way that it makes X's story as some tragic hero compelling. And honestly, player's trick of being possessed is not really equal to Xehanort's exploits. Parallels are too shaky.
@@sarthakarora3212 This is so funny to read in retrospect, now that we know the player's reincarnation was the blue hooded figure, rather than xehanort. Nomura really did bait us hard didn't he?
@@wiibot15 Yup. That's what happens when you have a story directed by Tetsuya Nomura. But that's what I (and many others) love about Kingdom Hearts. To my knowledge, there's no video game (or story) like it.
Okay so that whole bit about where all the darknesses currently are was super helpful. I wasn't really able to follow what the whole 7 vs 6 darkness's deal was. I thought the plan was to EVENTUALLY trap the 7 in the 5 foretellers, luxu, and MoM now that Luxu brought them back, not that they already had, and thus at least 4 of those had died. This makes a LOT more sense now. Thanks for all your hard work Damo on covering this installment Damo!
This might be one of the most important youtube videos in the history of kingdom hearts. Bravo sir, been watching you for a while and this is by far the best video you have ever made. Can't wait to see where the story goes from here.
I'm so sad I wasn't able to beat KHUX before it was shut down. I was literally at the end of the Wreck-It Ralph world before my keyblade setups just could not keep up with the enemy power levels anymore. Thank you for this video. Being able to discuss important cutscenes from KHUX as they came out has been one of my favorite parts of the KH fandom. I'm gonna miss it.
I love how Nomura enjoys further developing elements that many of us would tend to dismiss as fairly unimportant and forget it once we're done playing the game they are featured in such Maleficent's resurrection in KH2 or the sleeping worlds and dream eaters from DDD.
What a wonderful summary of these games. I’ve heard the pain of learning this lore for so long and how confusing it is. While this was still mildly confusing (may require another listen) it was only mildly confusing and you Carried out the narrative really well in a digestible fashion! Thank you for your efforts and work on this informative video!
This video, and all of the videos you've made, have been such a life line for those of us who could not dedicate the time towards the mobile game. I've adored your way of narrating the story, and eagerly listened for all of your theories on each new revelation. Thank you so so much for all of your work.
My guess, and perhaps this is wrong, is that Brain came to his intended time as only a heart. The arc was meant to strip the passenger of its body anyways, so perhaps that was the best way for Luxu to experiment with taking a vessel, as he would’ve most likely still have questions about the morality of the master’s final plan. Or, I could be completely wrong.
Cheers, I was unable to play these games due to time issues and technology limitations, but I got the feeling from what my siblings told me that it was probably pretty important in order to understand the bigger picture of the Kingdom Hearts Lore, so thanks for creating such a great, short, guide to what we could learn from these games.
The long awaited Magnum opus has arrived! Looking forward to the vid, thanks for everything you've done for the khux community Damo! Was a fun ride with you all
This video is a lifesaver, I've been working my way through the whole series again for the first time since KH3 came out and knew that I would eventually need to get the story of the Chi saga, but trying to read the wiki summaries was mostly just confusing me even more. This is exactly what I needed before jumping back in to KH3.
"And of course, the most important question that's still to be asked..." Is it 'WHAT'S IN THE *BOX*, NOMURA!?' ? "...about the person who knows the story of those ancient keyblade masters..." Oh yeah.
My hope is that they create a series of Back Cover quality movies, covering this entire story. Ideally creating a canon design and name for the player character. As much as I love this video and I’m so thankful you made it, We really need an official, more accessible way to find all this lore.
I've been waiting for this one since the end of Union Cross, and it was totally worth it! There's definitely something special about the way you explain things... you do it with passion! Keep up the good work, and greetings from Brazil!
Thank you so much for this video. After seeing Strelitzia in the KH4 trailer, I knew I had to learn the story told by the mobile games, games I sadly didn't play.. Even if it was sometimes difficult for me to understand some parts, I now know the essentials and I'm really grateful to your work 🌼 Amazing work, king !
For those watching this after the end of Darkroad, it appears that the Player character doesn't reincarnate as Xehanort, but instead, they reincarnated as the Blue Robe person who watched over Xehanort, the reason Xehanort sees the memories of the player is because of an ability that allows him to connect to hearts, causing him to mistake the Player's memories as his own, and then the Player dies before being able to explain it to Xehanort. At least, this is how I understand it, and the discussions online understand it.
56:02 yeah I've already said on tumblr how I believe Ven is at the highest risk of dying permanently in this series. Let's hope they find some way of not striking him down to destroy darkness because that will make me sad... wait he would ask his friends to put an end to him though. He's done it before, he'll do it again probably.
As someone who has played all of the KH games EXCEPT for Union X and Dark Road, this was an amazing recap of the story. Everything that is, would, or should be important are here. Of course though, in standard KH fashion, it answers one question while developing two. There were lore drops in this video that made me genuinely gasp in "eureka" moments, as questions for KH3 get answered and all of the red strings get connected. It's amazing how seemingly innocuous details, like Maleficent's cloak, now have become vitally important to the mechanics of the world. No way in hell this was the plan from the beginning, but what's brilliant about Nomura's story writing is that he keeps avenues open for these connections to be made. At the moment, it could be a throwaway detail or some flavor text, but some irl years and a few games later, new plot threads can weave backwards in time to make their connections. Now writing this in the present day, with the announcement of KH4 and new lore like Quadratum, as well as Streletzia's and Sora's existence in this "afterlife," I am excited and deathly terrified of what's to come next. Thank you my friend for reigniting my passion for this game once again. I'll think for now I'll stop my KH lore dive here and patiently wait for KH4 and the new mobile games to see what they have to bring to the table. Keep doing what you do my friend.
The MoM knew everything that would happen, he only wrote what was needed in the book to push the big players to do their true roles. Every "deviation" was probably intended, he just never wrote them down.
MAN i cant believe you included the clip of Sora riding the keyblade worm! that part made me cry because I played KHUX and had to stop because it got really tedious CONGRATS I AM SOBBING AGAIN
Amazing video, what an excellent wrap up of the overarching plot of the mobile games. I'm so glad I found this channel after I couldn't be bothered to keep playing the game between updates and get strong medals to beat the bosses on the consecutive updates. Plus I could never big-brain all the kingdom hearts plot points that you manage to make sense in these videos. Keep up coming! I'm super excited for your next theories!
As lots of comments are saying here, words cannot describe how grateful this fandom is for you. Eternally thankful for your work and dedication to this series and your passion to share it with the rest of the world. PD: A tear or two may have been shed with that ending.
Finally got to watch this. Man I love KH and have been with it since the beginning. But this is just wow... I’ve never seen someone retcon, answer questions, and still create more mystery all in one effort. I’m going to have to watch this again and take notes it’s a lot to consume and understand. Thanks for this video, I really wanted to play the game but didn’t have time.
Thank you for this! I feel like I finally understand the UnionX plot now and how it ties into the series. I wonder if the 13th Darkness is inside Sora...why does Vanitas look like Sora? The pods being called "lifeboats" also reminded me of the raft from KH1, where they wanted to go to other worlds. Riku and Kairi and Sora may be from another time too (or have been reincarnated like Xehanort was) and they have forgotten their pasts
After watching this video, I remember when ven told that vanitas can choose instead of sided with darkness but vanitas replies that he IS darkness. At first I thought it's because he's the dark remnants of Ven's heart, but now I realised he's the darkness entity that kills people of light. That makes much more sense tbh
Just watch Nomura throw a spanner in the works when Dark Road resumes. He loves throwing one in every time we have a relatively stable understanding of what's going on. Even though it potentially takes place at least a few centuries later (if not longer), there's bound to be some secret in Scala that will shake up our established understanding of KHUX. If I were to take a guess, Luxu may restore the Master of Masters with No Name sometime during the 4 year gap in time. The last place we see MoM before Quadratum is in the Keyblade Graveyard talking to teenage Xehanort. So it's probably safe to assume MoM's future Destination from the past was during Dark Road just so he could nudge Xehanort towards the path to Darkness.
Well, looks like I need to get some popcorn!!! My booooiiiiii, back at it again with the real X videos. Can't believe that this saga is finally wrapping up.
Yes my dude! I share the same sentiment with a lot of folks, not having played this title. But these “explained” videos keep me in the loop because we all know, whenever the next main line KH game comes out, there are bound to be some connections to these. Nice work!
First off, amazingly excuted! Very thorough yet simple to understand. So, random theory going off of yours. What if Luxu gave the No Name keyblade to Brain and trained him, and maybe it was Brain with the black hood and the box. Luxu may have asked Brain to hide the box where even he could not find it and be tempted to open it or reveal its location, hence why he is looking for it in Re:Mind because he knew his role was close to being over. In reference to Luxu's last comment to Brain, maybe Luxu kept Brain's hat all those hundreds of years to ensure he had a place and time to be in Scala. Just a theory.
I may never have played the game myself, but I have sincerely enjoyed and greatly loved watching all your coverage of it, and it made the series so much more interesting and compelling than it already was. I can’t wait for what the future holds, as always in this series, there are some very pressing questions to answer. I look forward to your next uploads.
Thank you so so much for these videos. I've been following your summaries of KHUX for years by now and they really help to understand the whole plot of the series. Can't wait to hear the speculations!
kairi’s grandmother, for someone who caused a whole ass game to be made because of what they said doesn’t seem to get any screen time. Then again neither does jiminy nor namine and they too got their own games
"Is Kairi's grandma Ava, or Vor?" When I heard that question I didn't quite get that last part of it because I didn't know who Vor was. So to me it sounded like he was saying the Portuguese word for grandma, "Avó". I guess I don't really mean anything by this, but I started thinking how combining the names Ava and Vor into Avor, again sounds like that same Portuguese word.
Really hope in Kingdom Hearts 4 they re-tell this story not many ppl played the mobile game nor wanna try to know the complicated story, ngl the Union X story is surprisingly so fcking good and actually answers many questions, so many new characters but the story actually isnt hard to remember.
I wish I could like this video more than once. I am PUMPED to give it a listen. You are seriously the best. Been missing your streams tho; waiting for that Doom playthrough ;)
Thank you so much ! I looked all the recap you made to keep beeing updated with the game, and i'm happy to be able to experience the end of it through your resumes !!
Now that I know Xehanort is me, I think I am biased. I kind of feel bad for him he was manipulated by the MoM, like didn't we suffered enough. WE died protecting our friends and end up being the villain in our next life. I hope our next reencarnation end up being good again. But now that I think about it is interesting how obsessed was Xehanort with the Keyblade war, the war WE, he, almost died.
Also it's clear Luxu took Brain's heart out and sent it to the future. That doesn't destroy the body inherently if the body isn't traveling with the heart in the first place, at least long as the person who did it is quickly switching over their heart. Luxu probably did that - popped Brain's heart out and sent it forward, then popped his heart over to Brain's body like Xehanort did to Terra and took him over. Also also, why are we assuming Luxu already had a Darkness in him by the time he was fighting the one we see him fight? Maybe that's the Darkness Luxu takes into himself but he didn't have one yet so it's just the one intended for him?
It might be because Luxu asked "where are the other four?" Instead of "where are the other five?". Luxu knows that one is standing before him, and that one is in Ventus. He assumes that 6 of them were successfully trapped in the foretellers and the Master of Masters. That's 8 total, leaving 5 unaccounted for. But if he already knows that he's got a darkness within himself, then that only leaves 4, so he can ask "where are the other four?". So at the very least, Luxu probably _thinks_ he has a darkness within him already.
Thank you for keeping all of us updated on this story, like many I didn’t have time or effort to play union x but still kept up with the story using your videos and I can’t appreciate you enough for keeping myself updated. May your heart be your guiding key my friend
Assuming you're right & Brain is Luxu's first apprentice, then having him wake up in the "new" Scala wouldn't be a problem at all. Yes, Brain does live out his life & has the box with him over the years, which is why Xigbar doesn't know where it is in ReMind, but most importantly, Brain doesn't have his hat with him, when he embarks on his journey with the box in the first place. My guess is that Luxu took his hat from him, to use it as a waypoint down the line, in order to revive Brain in the future, once the dust has settled & it'd be time for him to live his own life. And I think the same will go for Ephemer & his scarf at some point. I wouldn't be surprised, if we, at one point, see Luxu wearing a red scarf & hat (like Ardyn), because he has two mediums on him at once. Since he has memories of all of them, I wouldn't be surprised, if he's the key to bringing both back in the present time one day
This is SO comprehensive Damo! Awesome job! 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾You’re far too humble 😉 I really like the pod/ark accounting and the Darkness accounting. It’s so hard to keep track. 😅 You’ve already stated the main questions re Ava, the 2 Brains and the 2 Scalas. My only other question is since the world was destroyed, how did Ephemer rebuild Scala alone and where did the people come from to repopulate it? I guess there were survivors handy with tools... 😆
Thanks for doing this timeline. It’s serving as good source material for someone doing a Kingdom Hearts and Attack on Titan crossover ASMR on Patreon for me. Keep up the good work.
@@moneylover318 Did you watch the video? This covered the main plot of the X/Union X era. There are still some things unexplained and will likely be covered in a future game.
Great video, really does sum it up well. I hope you will make a similar video for when Dark Road finishes, but of course no pressure. There is so much here, it really is crazy that the foundation of the series going forward is locked behind all of this. I hope the KH team plans to make so sort of official summary too, so that there does become an official, better means to access and digest all this crazy information and story. Once again great video though!
I'm so glad a video like this exists. There's no way in hell that I'm gonna watch several hours worth of dialog bubbles just to figure out what the heck a kingdom hearts is
Kingdom Hearts Games: a fun, thrilling adventure through your favorite Disney worlds with Squire Enix character popping in ever so often. Kingdom Heart Lore: *gotye wokeuplikethis plays*
Imagine if KH was handled by Fromsoft, all the potential body horror happens to everyone that lost the 'heart' and their 'nobody' transformation. Ansem's, Vanitas's and Xehanort's deformations due to 'darkness' overload. Terra half-malformed body where it's armor melted unto his skin due to how the armor rejects lights whilst Terra himself embraced 'darkness'. Imagine all the Disney and Square charcters gets the same body horror treatment And dragons . . . . . lots of dragons . . . . and PC port ofc
There is surprisingly little dragons in KH. Maleficent is there of course, but bahamut family is not to be seen, unless one counts Donald as drake. But yeah, nobody-dusks are basically jumpsuits and someone transforming into them is one interesting source for fan-artists.
This story has always been one of the most confusing to me. The hardest part of the KH lore to understand. But I think you did a good enough job trying to explain it to me. Thank you.
Thank you so much for this video. Hoping SquEnix makes a Cross/Chi remake/compilation for consoles or something because these games are the foundation for the plot of Kingdom Hearts moving forward. So many questions left unanswered, I just hope the payoff is somewhat satisfying haha Now there's one question that I don't think has been answered concretely yet, but who's the hooded figure in the KHUX 2nd anniversary artwork? It'd make sense for it to be Strelitzia since it features all the Union Leaders and Ven, but why isn't she in a white robe? That and the flowers make me believe it's her. But maybe it's someone else? Idk Another thing is that you mentioned the Foretellers died in the Keyblade War but then they appear in the Epilogue for KH3. So they didn't die? Did they simply dissapear to the world of fiction and came back to be reunited with Luxu? Or are those data backups? Again, you did a great job explaining everything so easily. But there's some stuff that I still just don't understand... 😅
I’ve followed along with every game and I feel like I learn something new every time I watch a video like this it makes me excited to follow the series and keep playing the games
Thankyou for watching!!! I'm going to be doing a stream in a few hours on twitch to go over this video and take some of your lore questions, so get some prepared! See you soon!

I heard dearly beloveds at the end, and thought you were going to put your play stats at the end like they do for every Kh game. The Battle log.
So, thank you again for putting this together.
This game needs to be remade. It's way too important to the story for it to just be a mobile game like i dont understand square enix.
Fo real. And the fact the servers are down any more too so it’s only theater mode.
So in a roundabout way, the story of Kingdom Heart is basically about us the player literally kicking our own ass.
You've made it so much easier to digest and enjoy
or just play KH3 and learn everything about the past events
How would you love the story if you never had the time to experience it ?
Just watch the cutsecences or play the game after all it's ALL cutsecenes now.
@@zexionienzo4183 I just beat it and it tells you none of this

An important? This might be the most important honestly, it covers so much
I think this is a great idea but wouldn’t this alienate most of the audience? Although since this takes place thousands of years before even BBS, not a lot of prior commitment is needed.
“We don’t see what happens, but the implications are huge” might as well be the tag line for the uX finale. And honestly, “big implications” almost feels like an understatement lol. So excited to see those loose ends tied up one day.
Nomura said in the Ultimatum that "the reason the foretellers are there is the same reason Ventus is there" so it seemed after the keyblade war the master of master took them and used a seperate set of lifeboats to send them forward in time to the events of KH3

I would LOVE a movie based on this bc the story is genuinely interesting lmfao its just attached to an awful game
I can’t believe how big in scale the Kingdom Hearts story has gotten. It’s absolutely nuts to me
Yknow when I got into kingdom hearts I didn’t expect to find myself at “this immortal chaotic good man is gonna emotionally manipulate his students into amassing individual armies of child soldiers who would fight to the death and cause the fucking rapture, all to create a new world that could potentially last longer than the previous”

Hahaha funny kids game, hit monsters with beeg key
Thank you so much for this!!! It’s upsetting that a good chunk of lore, the backbone of KH, is in a “stupid” mobile game. I tried getting into it but I just couldn’t. Im so glad you took time to do this and looking forward to more.
I waiting for a movie or mini series like back cover.
@@kaitourobin840 or a remake
@@vergil_6707 I rather have them make a new game in the series. A movie is faster and less resources.
I agree
When time travel was introduced it was already at peak confusion
@Squigeon at least naruto isn't as convoluted
I'm so grateful that you made a video explaining everything! Now I'm even more baffled as to why they would include such important and mind-blowing lore into a mobile game that hardly anyone would play. I gave it a good go, but my motivation to play it was always inconsistent. I wish I'd been able to experience this story first-hand, but this was definitely the next best thing.
I hoping they make a movie or miniseries or bring the Lore into viedo games and retell it. Or simply buy this video and put it into recap in the games.
Nomura said it was, originally, not going to be plot important. Then he changed his mind.
Did this in little over an hour? Impressive.
The legend has done it once again. I can't say it enough, thanks for all your work damo. Kingdom hearts wouldn't be the same without you in the west

Is this after video #9?
I knew immediately in KH3 after Yen Sid said "May your Heart be your Key" that the mobile game was being implemented into it. Just like every game that isn't numbered. I told myself:
"Greeaaaat, that's years of gaming I don't wanna do."
And here you are condensing more than 8 years of gaming, updates, patience and pain into one hour's worth of many people's time.

Okay so that whole bit about where all the darknesses currently are was super helpful. I wasn't really able to follow what the whole 7 vs 6 darkness's deal was. I thought the plan was to EVENTUALLY trap the 7 in the 5 foretellers, luxu, and MoM now that Luxu brought them back, not that they already had, and thus at least 4 of those had died. This makes a LOT more sense now. Thanks for all your hard work Damo on covering this installment Damo!

Thank you for all the hard work you've put into not only this video but of the entire series.
The players ending honestly has me in tears
Cheers, I was unable to play these games due to time issues and technology limitations, but I got the feeling from what my siblings told me that it was probably pretty important in order to understand the bigger picture of the Kingdom Hearts Lore, so thanks for creating such a great, short, guide to what we could learn from these games.

This video is a lifesaver, I've been working my way through the whole series again for the first time since KH3 came out and knew that I would eventually need to get the story of the Chi saga, but trying to read the wiki summaries was mostly just confusing me even more. This is exactly what I needed before jumping back in to KH3.
"And of course, the most important question that's still to be asked..."
Is it 'WHAT'S IN THE *BOX*, NOMURA!?' ?
"...about the person who knows the story of those ancient keyblade masters..."
Oh yeah.
My hope is that they create a series of Back Cover quality movies, covering this entire story. Ideally creating a canon design and name for the player character. As much as I love this video and I’m so thankful you made it, We really need an official, more accessible way to find all this lore.

MAN i cant believe you included the clip of Sora riding the keyblade worm!
that part made me cry because I played KHUX and had to stop because it got really tedious
CONGRATS I AM SOBBING AGAIN

I love you. I was NOT looking forwards to reading hours of text from this game just to see what I missed
You are a blessing to the KH community
as of Dark Road, it's revealed that the Player's heart melts into the body a hooded figure who takes care of xehanort.
I think all comments speak for themselves. Extremely impressive and a big thanks!
"Is Kairi's grandma Ava, or Vor?"
When I heard that question I didn't quite get that last part of it because I didn't know who Vor was.
That Dark Road finale really messed up a lot of your speculation. 😂
Never would have guessed that the reincarnation was not the baby
@@Riku70X Fair!
Thank you for keeping all of us updated on this story, like many I didn’t have time or effort to play union x but still kept up with the story using your videos and I can’t appreciate you enough for keeping myself updated. May your heart be your guiding key my friend
Hearing you stop yourself from speculating too much is really nice because it shows how passionate you are about KH and your videos.
Since he has memories of all of them, I wouldn't be surprised, if he's the key to bringing both back in the present time one day
Xigbar is wearing a red scarf in bbs.
Can't wait untill you do a similar video for DR now that it's finished and we're heading into Missing Link!
Thanks for doing this timeline. It’s serving as good source material for someone doing a Kingdom Hearts and Attack on Titan crossover ASMR on Patreon for me. Keep up the good work.
Does this explain everything that happened at all the Union games or just the last one
Thanks!! I've got one out for the first three Dark Road episodes out so far, and will do another complete summary like this when it's all over :)
So Lauriam is Marluxia. Elrena is Larxene. That means the only two nobodies who's real bodies are not yet known are Luxord and Demyx.
You explain everything in a way that i can easily follow. Thank you. I really appreciate it! Love this story
wow, im such a big fan of kingdom hearts and never knew the story and lore for ux was so deep. thank you for such a great video!
Imagine if next canon and very important peace of story will be available exclusively on pachinko machine.
Konami's already half way there, it's concerning XD
I'm so glad a video like this exists. There's no way in hell that I'm gonna watch several hours worth of dialog bubbles just to figure out what the heck a kingdom hearts is
Kingdom Hearts Games: a fun, thrilling adventure through your favorite Disney worlds with Squire Enix character popping in ever so often.
Kingdom Heart Lore: *gotye wokeuplikethis plays*
I had no idea how useful knowing this all for the new mobile game and kh4 would be until now
Imagine if KH was handled by Fromsoft, all the potential body horror happens to everyone that lost the 'heart' and their 'nobody' transformation. Ansem's, Vanitas's and Xehanort's deformations due to 'darkness' overload. Terra half-malformed body where it's armor melted unto his skin due to how the armor rejects lights whilst Terra himself embraced 'darkness'. Imagine all the Disney and Square charcters gets the same body horror treatment
And dragons . . . . . lots of dragons . . . . and PC port ofc
There is surprisingly little dragons in KH. Maleficent is there of course, but bahamut family is not to be seen, unless one counts Donald as drake.
But yeah, nobody-dusks are basically jumpsuits and someone transforming into them is one interesting source for fan-artists.
i miss kh1. i didnt need videos like this back then
Ive been waiting for this god bless damo
This story has always been one of the most confusing to me. The hardest part of the KH lore to understand. But I think you did a good enough job trying to explain it to me. Thank you.
Thank you so much for this video. Hoping SquEnix makes a Cross/Chi remake/compilation for consoles or something because these games are the foundation for the plot of Kingdom Hearts moving forward. So many questions left unanswered, I just hope the payoff is somewhat satisfying haha
Now there's one question that I don't think has been answered concretely yet, but who's the hooded figure in the KHUX 2nd anniversary artwork? It'd make sense for it to be Strelitzia since it features all the Union Leaders and Ven, but why isn't she in a white robe? That and the flowers make me believe it's her. But maybe it's someone else? Idk
Another thing is that you mentioned the Foretellers died in the Keyblade War but then they appear in the Epilogue for KH3.
