After seeing several of your videos concerning the chosen series. I've learned so much about the Gospels I read the whole Bible according to app it took me 6800 minutes last year after the chosen first came out. It helped me with the chosen series but not really understand the Bible as a whole. I have this hunger to know more about my savior everything about him and his mission. I'm subscribed to you Brandon keep teaching me. God bless

Thank you Brandon for clarifying so many points in one of the first four books of the Bible in the New Testament. The “Gospel” according to Mark, a disciple of Simon Peter! Thank you for clarifying this “Gospel” to make the man… Jesus of Nazareth come alive off the pages & to recount some of the glorious stories of healing & love that Jesus both told & demonstrated. As “Gentiles” we are not as deeply connected to these stories in our ancestral experience! It is the very meaning of these stories or parables he shared & taught that bring the Jewish Rabbi, Jesus, to come to life off the very pages that we read & learn from. I’ve enjoyed every clip that you’ve shared w/us regarding the Bible (God’s Holy Word that he uses to speak to us), Jesus the Man, Jesus the Messiah, Jesus as a son to Mary, Jesus as a respected Rabbi, & Jesus as a friend & teacher. How that he may of interacted w/his “chosen” one’s as they traveled & as they learned from him the Father’s will for their lives to become the very teachers to us, the Gentiles, that Jesus was teaching them to be. Your simple clear way of calmly breaking down some of the verses & context are 💯 appreciated by myself & countless thousands of others that are being nourished by the rich content of “The Gospels”. I’m praying that more scrolls can be found in complete condition w/o need of restoration, simply just needing to be read & taught the rich meaning of all that Jesus said & did w/in the words of the newly found scrolls that I pray will soon be found!!!
As our Jewish brothers & sisters say… “Shalom, Shalom” Brandon & all who are reading this 🙏🏼🩸☝🏼👣💯😇♥️

So incredibly excited. I worked for Zola Levitt ministries for 6 years in Dallas so I was blessed to have insight on The Jewish perspective. Reading the Word from a Messianic perspective changes everything. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS TEACHING SERIES ITS AS DEEP AND BEAUTIFUL. Thank you so much for your faithfulness to King JESUS

Hi Brandon, have just watched your videos, they are very good, and the teaching based on what the context of that time and the original words meant is excellent. Just one point I would like to make, however. We need the Holy Spirit to reveal the true meanings of the gospels, otherwise, we are only learning head knowledge (logos), whereas the Rhema word brings the gospels alive and enables us to understand with our Jesus-filled spirit, giving us wisdom and discernment as well. Please would you emphasise this in a video about how we need to approach all scripture? I look forward to watching more excellent teaching from you, thank you.

Although I realise that I'm watching your podcasts only now and allmost in a random order, I can't help giving a little feedback especially on this introductory video on your series about the Gospel of Mark. I just feel so inspired and thankful for having discovered The Chosen and your work deriving from that and your ministry in general. Your approach is so refreshing, bringing it all back to its very essence. And for me personally, with my - let's say - unusual path of moving from organised Christianity to Hinduism, it is like the big circle of my love for God being brought to completion. And yes, still very, very much in deep loving relationship with Yeshua, Who has been present and more than instrumental at any step in my life. As far as your podcasts are concerned, I could very well imagine that the Lord Himself is actually watching over your shoulder, encouraging and inspiring you to share His ultimate Truths with all of us. Thank you so much for doing this. God bless!

You should use other sources as other than just the chosen - Revelation Media, iBible Alpha. Beta are all great sources. I am doing a study on Mark as well, and you are definitely spot on. Commentaries such as Gill, Pulpit, Ellicott, Expositor's, Calvin and Barnes, are wonderful resources that give a much more clearer understanding. And are I. Agreeance with the Pharisees, Sadducees and even his own disciples. They just didn't "get it".

I wish to share a couple of points with you relevant to your points on history and historical texts.
    1. I’m certain you’ve heard the saying “History is written by the victors.” In history the winners’ character and actions are sanitized and justified. The losers are degraded and demonized. And of course examples of the chivalry and atrocities respectively are given.
In contrast Scriptures show all the warts and scars of the hero. God has nothing to hide about His imperfect children and their many faults.
    2. When police arrive on a crime scene they need to separate the witnesses immediately. If they allow them to talk the experience of one will become the memories of the others (eg. how the criminal was dressed, actions, etc.). The only other explanation for identical witness memories is the statements were concocted and rehearsed before talking to the police, suggesting an attempt to cover up something incriminating.
So, if the Gospel writers are being true to their memories some discrepancies between books must exist.
Brandon, as always an excellent lesson.

The good news about the *Kingdom* AND Jesus. Can’t forget it’s half the good news about the coming kingdom, which of course he is a HUGE part of.
I don’t know where the chosen will go from here, but I hope they or somebody in the future makes a TV show about Jesus highlighting that the nature of his message first and foremost was about the kingdom of God being nearly here and to believe *that* good news. Even before he eventually finally preached about his death and resurrection

The Gospel of Mark was written by Cornelius, the centurion feature in Acts 10, immedately after his encounter with Peter some time between 27 and 40 CE and was transmitted to his direct report, Theophilus, in the Italian Cohort of the Praetorian Guard in Rome. Theophilus was basically the Bishop of the Roman Christian fellowship in the Roman legions that gathered across the Empire in enclaves known as belonging to the cult of Mithra for security reasons. It was dangerous to be a Christian until the Milvian Bridge.
The Gospel of Mark was published in Alexandria by John Mark, the Beloved Disciple and a protégée of Peter. John Mark wrote the Gospel of John about his relationship with Jesus which began when John Mark was 12 and Jesus began Him ministry in 28 CE. John Mark wrote his Gospel of John at the urging of Papias because the Gospel of Mark was know as εὐαγγελίου , which was the original title given to what we now call The Gospel of Peter that was transmitted by Pilate to Rome that compelled Tiberius to propose enrolling Jesus in the Roman Pantheon., which the Senate rejected on the pretext that they weren't consulted. Christian, the Roman soldier's slang for "Jesus Follower", was introduced to the Roman elite at this time. εὐαγγελίου εὐαγγελίου
The Gospel of Peter is the orignina text of the εὐαγγελίου Pilate sent to Rome and it is especially signifcant because it includes the soldiers's shared vision of the unilateral covenant cutting ceremony between God and the Italian Cohort identical to the unilateral covenant cutting ceremony between God and Abram in Genesis 15. This vision provides a divine legitimacy to the Empire the Caesar's attempted to bestow upon themselves by declration. The practical effect was that the Italian Cohort became the New Wineskin into which the New Wine of Jesus was poured that has conveyed directly to the Command Sergeant Major of the US Army siiting in an office across from the US Army Chief of Staff by way of the US COnstiution.
The Gospel of Mark begins by referencing this εὐαγγελίου of the Gospel of Peter and needs to be understood as an intelligence briefing that starts by saying "This is what led up to the εὐαγγελίου communication to the Emperor" It is not a title. The Gospel of Mark begins when Jesus appears above the Roman military horizon and takes command of John the Baptist's Repentance constituency. The Gospel of Mark was written as a military intelligence report and was expected to be understood literally, in the same manner that Custer's message to Benteen "Come Quick" was intended to understood literally.
what the Gospel of Mark adds to the Gospel of Peter is waht we now call Quelle of the source, which was the contents of the routine surveillance file begun by the Roman military intelligence service on Jesus when he took over John the Baptist's cadre. The contours of Quellw can be traced throughout the Gospels by the Roman apparatus of εὐθὺς, which operates like a modrn footnote and means "Eyewitness testimony" all of which was collected before either Resurrection or the remanding of Jesus to the Roman chain of custody except for Acts 10L16, when Peter's testimony was added to the archive and fleshed out the spinal time line of the Roman intelligence log.
The combination of the Gospel of Mark and the Gospel of John is to present a combined narrative consisting of a Greco-Roman play-by=blay with the color commentary of a Hellenistic Jew providing the Passover horse radish missing from the Gospel of Mark. The relationship of John Mark to Jesus in the Gospel of John is more or less identical to that of the idol worship of a batboy to Lou Gherig.

Thank you again for all these videos. I can't get enough! (Super hungry for them). One thought I've had that I've thought about is... so, from all the Bible gospels, are they all taken from Peter's account? Besides Mathew and John? Paul, Luke, and Mark, hung out with only Peter to hear first account stories, right? Also, are there other books out there? Like from Mary Magdalene? And should we find those and read them? And then what about the other "prophets" from other Christian "based" religious beliefs, like the Mormons, etc. I would LIVE to hear your take! And prayers to your family amd daughter!

Hi! So, Luke actually indicates in his gospel that he has done a lot of research and this leads us to believe that he is getting his information from multiple sources (beyond just Peter).
As far as other gospels or potential scriptures, early Christians vetted many of those and keep them out of the biblical canon either because they didn’t have a clear connection the apostles or their claimed author, or because they aren’t in line with Jesus’ teachings.

It seems commonly understood that no one among the disciples of Jesus knew who he was with any degree of assurance. Yet, Andrew and perhaps Phillip were present with John the Baptist when, In Mark 9-11, God’s anointing of favor might have been seen and heard. Why was a connection not made?

Hey, Kate. It is generally considered to be the earliest of the gospels, and one from which both Matthew and Luke drew.

@3:10-ff - Your quote, "The emphasis was not on getting all the facts right... [the Gospels] might not always agree and that's fine..." Are you saying Mark has errors in it? If I cannot trust Mark to get the facts right, which Gospel can I trust then to get the facts correct? By what criteria do I judge the correctness of any particular gospel? Can I really believe in this Jesus Mark is talking about if he didn't get all the story correct? I'm so confused.

It's a good question that you pose. In my view, the differences between the gospels are primarily in verbiage but not meaning. For instance, two gospels reporting something that Jesus said may have written it down with slightly different words but the same meaning still. In other words, there wasn't anything contradictory. Writers in that period weren't interested in getting the words micro-exact, but they did believe in conveying the bottom line meaning accurately.
Often, too, something that might appear contradictory can actually be resolved once context is understood. Other times, the various gospels actually complement each other despite being different. (eg is when Jesus called the disciples and they followed Him: one gospel will note that, but the other will describe that He had performed a miracle with the massive catch of fish. Then you realize that these disciples didn't just put everything down in their lives without having a reason).

This may seem like a random question but I don't want to come off as hateful by any means. I just need clarification. Can we remain Christian if we are gay or lgbtqia+ or vice versa? I just get confused because people claim to be part of that community and say we can be that way and be Christian at the same time and people avoid this topic like crazy. I can understand if they just started Christianity and are actively trying to fight it or some are or what not I just clarification so not to ruffle feathers. God is love and I believe they shouldn't have to be hidden because God loves us no matter what.

Brandon Robins. 'Please tell us what a 'gaspel' is. Although I have read all of the bible many times, including the New Testament in its original Greek, I have never found any such things as gaspels anywhere in there. Do you read the bible in its original languages? By the way, 'Brandon' is the name of a village in East Anglia in England. Robins are perching birds with red breasts.

    • @BrandonRobbinsMinistry

"gospel" has its roots in the greek word euangelion, which refers to a proclamation of good news.

    • @anthonyweedonweedon1426
      @anthonyweedonweedon1426 3 ปีที่แล้ว

@@BrandonRobbinsMinistry 'Gospel' comes from the Anglo-Saxon 'God Spell', which is not the same as 'good news.' It means something that is spelt out by God. 'Gospel' is nothing like the Greek word 'evangelion'. 'Weedon' comes from the place name. There are three villages in England called Weedon: Weedon Beck, Weedon Lois and Weedon. It means 'Temple Hill.' 'Weoh' is the old Anglo-Saxon name for 'temple' and the 'don' comes from the Anglo=Saxon 'dun' meaning a hill. Thus 'Weedon' means 'Temple Hill'.

Bless you. However, I have concerns when you say that Mark wasn't concerned about getting his facts right or accuracy. While I agree The Gospels of Mark, Matthew, and John are more interested in teaching Theology than a chronological account, to cast doubt on accuracy or getting facts straight is a perilous road. What the Gospels (Luke included) do report on is accurate in all its parts (no errors in the original manuscripts). Perhaps you wording wasn't the best?
