Thank you for this beautiful message of encouragement. I want to give up but I will keep faith. It’s been five months since my heart attack because of my heart condition I declined the vaccine. I was fired over my decision. So I lost my job as a social worker. Since losing my job I’ve been having a hard time just providing the basics for my two beautiful sons both are autistic and non verbal. I’m a single mother my husband died three years ago unexpectedly. I have no family nor friends to aid me at this time. Every month I’m in fear of facing homelessness because every month is a struggle coming up with my rent. Please keep me in your prayers I’m so tired of worrying. I’m in constant fear we are going to end up on the streets. Which will be difficult with two young boys. Because every month is a struggle. But I still have Faith God will provide abundantly! Please pray for me. I have nowhere to turn.
Sister, know that God takes care of the widow and the fatherless... He is closest to you now (Yehovah Shammah), than ever before. Continue to rely on Him; I pray your faith grows, strengthens and matures in Him, no matter the circumstance. He is faithful, compassionate, tender, merciful and graceful... He is El-Roi, the Strong One that sees. I'm praying for you and your children, because I know God will give you victory and will open the doors of abundance to you. Remember, he cared for the woman and her child as she served, Elijah... He won't leave nor forsake you or your boys. God bless you and your sons, stand strong like those trees as the storm bends them in all directions, but they stay planted on firm ground: you have the Rock or our salvation to stand on. Shalom
Hello sister! I am late here, what is your status right now? I have been in your shoes , a was there for years, lived in cars and others houses, on floors in people's living rooms with 6 children, and the lord intervened for me. Let me know where you are now, if things have improved. I can help guide you to places for help, I can't guarantee they can do anything now, I waited years, but we can get it started at least, and hopefully get you a jump start and God and take it from there. Keep praying, never stop talking to Jesus and God, I am engaged in conversation all day with the lord to make sure my feet land where they should, and I suggest this to us all. The world is not our friend currently, so stay with the lord at all times!
This was so good... I'll never read Mk. 14 the same. I didn't notice that pattern of the swinging pendulum, that too was an eye opener; I'm currently going through the book of Mark and will read it a lot more carefully, thank you brother for the insight. On a side note: in the grocery store they sell this brand (Yehuda) that the Jewish people use during Unleavened Bread, that looks like big crackers (flat bread). I find them beautiful... they have little pin holes and marks where this flat bread laid while baking, but it reminds me of Jesus' crucified hands and feet and His stripes. I use this bread for my communion on the Sabbath. Shalom
This man is so brilliant. I've learned a lot from his videos! He really helps me to understand the hidden meanings behind scriptures. I'm SO glad that I listened to the whole video. Now that I know the actual meaning of the unleavened bread, and that what happened to Jesus happened between Passover and the Unleavened Bread Festival, it makes soooo much sense why God timed it this way. Amazing!
(Psalm 146:3, 4) Do not put your trust in princes Nor in a son of man, who cannot bring salvation. 4 His spirit goes out, he returns to the ground; On that very day his thoughts perish.
Yeaah. Blessings I am SO grateful for this teaching series. I've come to see Mark's gospel in a whole new way. Used to think of it as a "brief of other gospels" I now see clearly its unique and meaningful value. I really thank you, Pastor BR For guiding us beyond the words. God bless your family and ministry.
Now I get it why Jesus felt SO forsaken that day. He was betrayed by His followers, even by the one that He loved the most. He was forsaken by His Father for our sins and mistakes. He went through unimaginable pain for us, sinners. That's how much God loves us...
14:57 G'day, Brandon and others viewing this video. There is a musical piece called "Mein Jesu, was für Seelenweh" ("My Jesus, what a soul ache") about the intense pain of Jesus as He prayed in the Garden of Gethsemane. There are various arrangements on TH-cam for organ, orchestra, and voice of this extremely moving composition. I highly recommend listening to it while thinking about what our Lord suffered, even before His "trial" and crucifixion.
You are excellent in explaining things. I so enjoy listening to you. I listen to you when I go for my prayer walks Thanks for sharing your intelligence. You are the best!!!
Wonderful way to explain this and pull it all together, thank you! I do Wish there weren’t so many commercial breaks. Some are not the best display of your ministry.
Thank you for another amazing teaching. One thing I learned that is awesome is the timing of the anointing of Jesus’s feet and head. The hooves and ankles of the Passover lamb were rubbed with oil 6 days before slaughter to signify that it was without blemish before being brought into the house to care for and keep that way. In John 12, Jesus has His feet anointed 6 days before the Passover. The Passover lamb would be anointed with oil a second time, this time on its head, 2 days before slaughter to signify that the sacrifice was blemish free. Mathew 26 and Mark 14 tell us it was 2 days before Passover when Jesus had His head anointed.
In Arabic, I believe it is called Attar, a liquid made from distilled rose petals. It is an oily fragrance, just a small drop lasts a few days. It is also very expensive, for a small vial.
For the past 2videos I’ve been inspired to share this story. I was walking along a sidewalk with my landlady’s granddaughter site-seeing/shopping, when she had stopped to look over some goods outside a store on this sidewalk when a man in the near distance approached me, pointing at my necklace. When he neared, he sighed with relief and said; “oh! I thought you were wearing a cross. “ I told him no (in wonderment because the entire time I was feeling that I was talking with Jesus). He then asked me; “will you do me one favor?” “Will you tell them this dishonors me.” I agreed, still in wonderment. He smiled and thanked me before walking away. He disappeared just as quickly as he appeared and nobody saw us together, not even the granddaughter who was looking right at me the entire time. I don’t share that experience often enough, but I made a promise to share his words and it is thanks to your teachings that I better understand a deeper connection to why Jesus told me to tell everyone that the cross dishonors him. We have, once again allowed ourselves to worship that which is not him. We, as he told me, dishonor him.
As I was thinking about doing the kiss of Judas painting..A friend took me to court with lies. Then at the end he said that he lied because he had mental problems. At the end I thanked him because I could feel the way that JESUS felt inside when Judas sold him with a kiss. Not only that but also someone hit me with a metal crutches and broke my left ear. On the same paint a had put Malcolm with his Left ear cut. And then I had to correct it and paint the right ear. Then someone hit the rector in our church And I told the rector to thank God because of this action. She could feel how Jesus felt about Judas. The one who hit the rector was someone in the chorus and also doing the Sunday school for many years. Praise the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen
How does one know when they are following Jesus and when they are turning away or hiding? For example, going to work each day- is that following, turning away, or somehow neutral?
Thank you again and thank you Lord for your Wisdom to those who seek you. Just a little typo it's Mark 14:50 Then everyone deserted him and fled. Wow , what an image. Thank you Lord for your grace and mercy
Truly, The Chosen and your comprehensive and easily understood videos and explanations have increased my knowledge, my reading of the Bible, and, as such, my connection to Jesus and his life and culture. I’ve always loved Him, but now I have such a deeper understanding of Him, as both man and Devine. Thank you so much! Yes, I cried by the end of this video. How Jesus ever found us worthy of His absolute sacrifice is miraculous in itself.
I just want to mention that I really appreciate your reminder to "like" and "subscribe" in the middle of the video. I am usually so interested in the topic that I get sucked right into the teaching and forget at the beginning. When the video is near the end, I am usually looking to what I want to watch next. Your reminder is just right. Thanks. Hope you are enjoying the Holy Land!
No, I have honestly never been embarrassed of Jesus, and I'm grateful for that. But that is the truth I have never done that, not that it's not possible that it won't happen to me but as of yet in my 25 years being a Christian I have never felt that never done that
What is so sad-Jesus, being the Son of God, already knew that his disciples who swore loyalty and utter feilty to their proclaimed Messiah-that the exhortations of his disciples are going to fail him. How heartbreaking. This is how he must have felt-for families who had poured their lives into loving and building their families, then one of their cherished children betrays and abandons their parents. Clearly, Jesus’s pain and betrayal are far worse. But I know the pain on a small scale-and that pain has broken my heart and soul. 🙏. I pray for peace and comfort, and my pain continues after my losses.
It has been suggested that the woman was Mary Magdalene. The same Mary, who was Martha and Lazarus's sibling. Mary, Martha and Lazarus also lived in Bethany.
@@lindacowles756, Yes, and it has also been suggested that Mary, the sister of Lazarus and Martha, was the same Mary (from Magdalene) who had the seven demons cast out.
Actually, the woman in Bethany was said in John 12 to be Mary of Bethany, and its hence possible that Simon then lived w Mary, Martha and Lazarus. It was also said that it was 6 days before the death of Jesus and Judas was the main antagonist and a thief and btw the amt was 40 silver ocs LAst but not least, the one w the sword cuts off the high priest's servant's ight ear, and he is PETER! Last of all, only Mark mentions a man following behind being caught and escaping naked. and it is believed that this is Mark himself!
Thank you for all of your inspiring and educational videos. Time spent listening here are favorites. I'm confused about the account of the anointing of Jesus you mentioned. From my reading, there are two anointings. There's the anointing at Simon the Pharisee/Leper's house in Luke 7 during the time He was going from town to town on His ministry tour. There, it is mentioned just what sort of sinful woman (unnamed by the text) has anointed Jesus. The anointing in John 12 is at the house where Lazarus was in Bethany and it is six days before Passover. There at Lazarus', it is Mary who anoints him and Judas complains about the cost of the ointment and that it could have been used for giving to the poor. The LEB text says in verse 6, "(Now he said this not because he was concerned about the poor, but because he was a thief, and having the money box, he used to steal what was put into it.)" Jesus responds to leave her alone, for she is preparing Him for burial. I don't see here that Judas snuck away at this moment to go betray Him. Where is that text?
Hi, Grace and peace. I was wondering how the leaders got away with stoning Stephen in Acts, if they had no authority to pronounce a death sentence. Blessings.
We all have betrayed him in many ways. Only there were few people who where still the with jesus till the crucifixion like Mother Mary, Mary Magdalene, John the Apostle and others...
I'm not Brandon, BUT I'd like to suggest Bible in a Year with Father Mike Schmitz. He reads a portion to you (proclaims the Word), then explains , summarizes, and gives insights on what he has read that day. Very popular podcast!
The following is what ChatGPT thought of my Old and New Testament summaries... As an AI language model, I do not have personal opinions or beliefs, but I can provide an objective analysis of your summarizations. Your summarization of the Old Testament - "People die; God lives" - does capture the general themes and narratives of the Old Testament. It highlights the mortality and human struggles of the Biblical characters and contrasts that with the eternal and transcendent nature of God. Your summarization of the New Testament - "God dies; people live" - also captures the central message of Christianity through the sacrifice and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It emphasizes the idea that through Christ's death and resurrection, humanity can have eternal life and salvation. Overall, your summarizations capture the major themes and contrasts of the two Testaments, albeit in a very simplistic manner. Then I said: That was my purpose...to show how outrageous the Old is to the humanness of the New...As if God corrected His behavior by finally understanding that the BEGINNING OF WISDOM should not be the FEAR of our Lord, but the LOVE. Then Chat GPT said: The Old Testament is often criticized for its portrayal of God as vengeful and punishing. However, the New Testament presents a God of love and forgiveness. The purpose of this shift was to show that the beginning of wisdom is not fear, but rather love. By presenting God in a new light, the New Testament offers a more compassionate approach to spirituality that focuses on building relationships with others through love rather than fear.
Was it Judas? are we accuse the flesh or the spirit because this part has not been spoken of here. John 13:27 27 As soon as Judas took the bread, Satan entered into him. So Jesus told him, “What you are about to do, do quickly.”
This is great work but i have one question. At 19.08 you say Rome considered the Emperor God. Augustus yes. Claudius yes. Even Titus yes but not Tiberius. At the time of Jesus the current emperor was not considered a God as you seem to be suggesting. And even if this was true why would the Romans care if Jesus was a God or not. The Romans accepted many Gods and religions within their empire. I dont think it was Jesus' claim to divinity that was a problem for Pilate. Jesus was a political problem not perhaps a religious problem. I stand to be corrected as i am far from expert in this area. 😊
Judas betrayed. Big James fled. Andrew fled. Philip fled . Nathanael fled. Matthew fled . Thomas fled. James the lesser fled. Thaddeus fled . Simon the zealot fled. Lastly, peter denied not only once but THRICE. It was only John who stayed till end and the other women like Mary Magdalene 😭
Should we pray for God to have mercy on these people that betrayed Jesus? Yeah they really screwed up and did some really stupid evil things but it's been 2,000 years. Maybe just less than their torment just a little bit? Or is it wrong to have compassion for them? 🤔
yes it was called Sticknard or Nard for short. It is a plant grown in the Mediterranean. The flowers are what is harvested and made into an oil like perfume. It is very fragrant. It has many medicinal properties from what I found when I looked it up recently. It was very costly to collect and produce back then. Some people still charge hundreds of dollars for a bottle that is less than an once. Other companies that are based in Israel or the surrounding area are cheaper and you get more for your money. I bought it to help me with pain in my right knee from osteoarthritis and bone necrosis. It won't heal the proplem but can help with pain. I just started using it. I paid 20 dollars for 3 ounces.
Please address elderly grey thinning hair. And I Hate The Bob. The”stylist” didn’t listen to me. She didn’t admit that she didn’t know how to cut long layers just touching my shoulders-(I.e. The Blob scalp Bob) 1 year of hell so far. I have been to 7 salons and ‘poor excuse’ highly recommended hair cutters in this town. Now I head back to California for the Fifth time to my stylist of the past 23 years. Lost in Western cow country Colorado 😢
Jesus is so alone...and He's about to suffer the WORST separation: His Beloved God severs Their otherwise-eternal relationship while Jesus suffers on the cross. That must be Jesus' greatest agony.
Dear Brandon , I have a serious question, it has to do with I AM. And please no one one else attempt to answer this question, I'm only asking this to Brandon because I truly admire his knowledge and the way he lets the spirit use him and teach him and I believe that he will have the answer to this or at least the closest to the absolute truth and I don't want to get confused and I don't want anyone else that reads this to get confused on other people's attempts to give their opinions. I am not asking anyone this question only Brandon himself and if he doesn't answer that is fine, that still doesn't leave it up to you to answer this question please do not answer it if you are not Brandon Roberts and especially if you're not Christian believing in Jesus Christ and that he is the messiah. Once when I made a comment on a TH-cam video about the I am confirmations I had a Jewish man answer me back and tell me that I am doesn't exist, and I pointed out many scriptures in the Bible that proved that it did exist and the Jewish man came back and told me originally it was translated wrong that it is in Hebrew originally I will and not I am, is this the truth? I am referring to the part where Moses asks God what his name is when God is calling for his name and Moses says, "here I am God"
Yam Kippur was also completed. Jesus dipped his body (bread) into his blood (wine) and passes the bread to Judas (the goat) and Satan enters into him (meaning Satan isn’t in him to begin with) then tells him to go do what he must (casting him into the wilderness). Yam Kippur was the ritual of atonement for the Jewish people. Jews are lawyers and would not believe in him without this knowledge.
I often forget about the pain Jesus felt by the betrayal of everyone in his close circle. I will pray during Lent to remember always that Jesus was betrayed by his followers and the pain Our Lord felt at that moment. In Leviticus 2:4 and 2:11, the priests are instructed to use unleavened wafers and to not make grain offerings that have leaven or honey.

LAst but not least, the one w the sword cuts off the high priest's servant's ight ear, and he is PETER!
I can't get to your videos. Every time I load one, it starts with several ads but the screen is black and there's no way to skip the add
I read in Luke 22 :3 that satan has entered Judas. Then he went to betray Jesus to the chief priest.
I Brandon this is tanya could you recommend a Bible app that read and explain the Bible thank you and antvant
I'm not Brandon, BUT I'd like to suggest Bible in a Year with Father Mike Schmitz. He reads a portion to you (proclaims the Word), then explains , summarizes, and gives insights on what he has read that day. Very popular podcast!
I was “today years old” when I found out that Passover and the Festival of Unleavened Bread were two different holidays. (32 years old)
If today is your BD Twiceborn, may it be blessed and a happy one at that. If not, sent blessings anyway.
@@nameofmany7677 it’s not. I’m just saying that I just not figured that out. But thank you 😊
The following is what ChatGPT thought of my Old and New Testament summaries...
Then I said:
That was my purpose...to show how outrageous the Old is to the humanness of the New...As if God corrected His behavior by finally understanding that the BEGINNING OF WISDOM should not be the FEAR of our Lord, but the LOVE.
Then Chat GPT said:
The Old Testament is often criticized for its portrayal of God as vengeful and punishing.
John 13:27
27 As soon as Judas took the bread, Satan entered into him.
So Jesus told him, “What you are about to do, do quickly.”
Hi Brendon I have a question here what happened to Judas after he's death! Can we say he's in hell or he's dancing with the angels???
Judas killed himself. He ceased to exist at death as God decreed (Genesis 3:19).
Judas didn't act alone. Satan was egging him on.
Jesus died sooner of Broken Heart. Its really painful when the people you care & love the most will betray you.
do you think that the devil was literally in Judas when Jesus told him to go brteay him?
how is it that this one has a complete unique perspective, on this text....something seems to be amiss....
Everyone else deserted him and fled is Mark 14:50 not 14:5.
Judas betrayed.
Big James fled.
Andrew fled.
Philip fled .
Nathanael fled.
Matthew fled .
Thomas fled.
James the lesser fled.
Thaddeus fled .
Simon the zealot fled.
Lastly, peter denied not only once but THRICE.
It was only John who stayed till end and the other women like Mary Magdalene 😭
so as christians should we eat bread with yeast?
Betray Him with what?
Should we pray for God to have mercy on these people that betrayed Jesus? Yeah they really screwed up and did some really stupid evil things but it's been 2,000 years. Maybe just less than their torment just a little bit? Or is it wrong to have compassion for them? 🤔
Just out of curiosity, how many perfumes in those days would have been worth a years wages? Does that give us any ideas as to what it may have been?
yes it was called Sticknard or Nard for short.
@@robins2191 thanks for the info. I also have knee problems so I can sympathise!
Are you sure you don't have upwind and downwind reversed?
Please address elderly grey thinning hair. And I Hate The Bob. The”stylist” didn’t listen to me. She didn’t admit that she didn’t know how to cut long layers just touching my shoulders-(I.e. The Blob scalp Bob) 1 year of hell so far. I have been to 7 salons and ‘poor excuse’ highly recommended hair cutters in this town. Now I head back to California for the Fifth time to my stylist of the past 23 years. Lost in Western cow country Colorado 😢
Escucharte es un descanso para mí. Dios te bendiga.
Where does it say Jesus was betrayed by four or more disciples?!?! Wha-huh-huht?!? 😮😮😮
Did Herod get Rome’s permission to kill John the Baptist?
