@@emilyraines6106 Read the old book from the '70s or '80s by Dr. William Steuart McBirnie called The Search For The Twelve Apostles. Here is a link to a revised version that I do not know much about the revisions, but the old books are cheaper and easy to find used. I found it interesting, but keep in mind that for some of the 12 Apostles it is more traditional handed down stories than verified by historians. John, Peter and Paul are fairly easy and of course, the Apostle James the son of Zebedee and brother of John was killed in Acts by Herod. Did you know Doubting Thomas was martyred in India? Also the Church of St. Thomas Syro-Malabar still exists to this day and even Wikipedia has a lengthy article on it. www.christianbook.com/search-the-twelve-apostles-revised-edition/william-mcbirnie/9781414320045/pd/320045
There’s a sermon given at BYU from Spencer W. Kimball called “Peter My Brother.” In that talk he talks about Peter denying the Savior thrice. He then says that it doesn’t make sense that someone who hours before cut off a Roman soldier’s ear and was ready to fight to the death only to then deny the Savior. If you look at the wording in the KJV, when Jesus says “thou shalt deny me,” it sounds more like a commandment rather than stating what will happen, which makes a lot of sense when you look at the character of Peter.
I watched this out of curiosity , but I really learned a lot from this. Watching the Chosen also, has helped me understand Peter and who he was...I used to criticize the Hebrew's in Genesis for turning from God time and time again in the dessert for all those years, but by reading, listening to you, watching videos' like The Chosen, I realize how like them I am/was! I always knew the Lord was taught about Him from a very young age but I chose to walk away and do a lot of bad things. Jesus was always there to pick me up and comfort me He never forsakes us! I thank you for helping us learn more of the apostles and the Chosen for brining the gospels to life! They really have helped me to get closer to the Lord and to have a better understanding of the Bible. Thank you!
My COVID made me to surf on Chosen videos. I am not regretting as I found another 💎 like 'The grafted". Thank you brother for your wisdom and talent to present the word.I see your passion for Christ..God bless
I watch the episodes over and over but the one I watch the most is Episode 4...when Yeshua tells Peter to throw the net back into the water and he makes it obvious he thinks Yeshua doesn't have a clue but reluctantly tosses the net in, shrugs at Yeshua and Yeshua shrugs back and then the boat almost tips over as the net fills with fish...great lesson in this particular episode for me, great lesson!
Hello from Wuhan,China. Thank you so much for this video. Lately I have felt I am not good enough. I am taking Mandarin classes and I and my Mandarin teacher have become very good friends. He is an unbeliever , and I want to share The Good News with him. We had a long discussion, but I feel I failed , as he still have lots of doubts.
I'm sorry that you're feeling that way, Johann. Please don't feel like you failed. We are called to share the gospel with others, but the true transformation comes through the power of the Holy Spirit. Continue to be faithful to what God has called you to do, and let the Holy Spirit do the rest. I just prayed for you and the ministry you're doing.
This video blessed me tremendously! I was at a low for no reason other than myself incrimination. Yesterday was a spiritual apex of this year. I needed to hear this teaching & had been praying for the Holy Spirit to guide. HE DID! Thank so very much all associate with this lovely work you are doing. Your 70year old sister in Christ
Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful word, as I sit in tears praising my Lord Jesus Christ for all of His goodness, love and redemption. This video has truly blessed me today for I too have been feeling alone and unworthy as I do my best to follow my Lord and Savior. All I want to do is share my testimony and the love of our Lord while constantly being faced with opposition but I stand on the word of God and I know He lead me to this scripture long ago, Matthew 16:18. Thank You Father God for Your grace and mercy,, love and goodness over Your people, I bless Your Holy name Jesus.
Just for your information, Catholics are not Christians. Orthodoxes, Methodists, Jehovah Witnesses, Mormons, etc... aren't Christians either. Why? - Each of them have beliefs, teachings, ideologies and practices that are NOT in the Bible. A.K.A., doing what they want. - It is impossible for Catholics, Orthodoxes, Mormons, Methodists, Jehovah Witnesses, etc... to end up in the same place (Heaven) if they all have different beliefs, teachings, practices, and ideologies. For example, Catholics believes that Mary is a virgin, which isn't true. If you actually read the Bible (not the Catholic edition) you would know that Mary had other children with Joseph. Therefore, Mary was not a virgin. - Mary is NOT the mother of GOD. Catholics praise Mary as if she is the creator and the mother of GOD. But, GOD doesn't have a mother, He created all humans, including Mary. Mary was the mother of Jesus here on earth, that is it. She was just chosen from the other virgins. - Catholics confess their sins to pope/priests instead of to GOD/family/friends/the person you hurt. The priest/Pope is not GOD, you can come to GOD directly. - You guys have images/statues in your church of "saints", when clearly in one of the Ten Commandments it says in Exodus 20:4 says: Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, *or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above* , *or that is in the earth beneath* , *or that is in the water under the earth" . - You guys pray to an image of "Jesus Christ" when you shouldn't pray to any image or have any necklaces. Exodus 20:5 says: *Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them* , *nor serve them* : for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; - You guys baptise children, when I think they should be baptised when they give their life to Jesus Christ, A.K.A. being a new creature in Christ. - You guys have the 7 sins or something like that which ISN'T in the Bible. - Etc...
Thank you for your insights about Peter's relationship with Jesus. My husband and I sincerely appreciate your comments about biblical scripture in general, and in particular, in regard to "The Chosen". Please keep up the good work you are doing. Thanks again for sharing your inspirational comments Brandon.
@@ThetennisDr No, you're wrong. Peter is a masculine name originating in the Greek language meaning "rock" or "stone." This name is derived from the Greek version, Petros, which translates to "stone." - Google
I feel like such a Peter sometimes. When I was a young believer, I did not speak up at my job when a boss was mocking a fellow worker for asking for prayer. I was so ashamed of myself. Now that I am bolder in my faith, I still stumble and say the wrong thing often. I am so grateful for Peter's example to repent and return to Jesus.
I want to share about my near-death-experience together with my deceased daughter. It's a NDE story about the way our lives are judged and measured and analyzed by ETERNITY. It's about the strength of forgiveness that can change everything for the better, even on the other side. It's a story of hope and blessings to everyone who is looking for a PROOF OF ETERNITY, and that's the title of my book PROOF OF ETERNITY by Alba Monn. It's a story of hope and blessings to everyone who is mourning about the loss of a loved one, especially for parents who have lost their own children. I came to testify that ETERNITY is a fact, that our loved ones live on on the other side, that they want for us to be comforted and completely consoled by the truth, because the truth will set you free. Blessings
Thank you brother, a very encouraging word and much needed in this season of my life. I have always identified w/Peter (especially, in the bad temper dept.), but this in-depth study of him is an eye opener. I also enjoyed watching the video on Matthew. God bless. Shalom.
Yes indeed , very encouraging words. I’m a new fan of his channel. It’s worth sharing to more people so as to make this world a better place to live 👍👏
Our parish is blessed with a wonderful priest. He's explained 5 of the 6 of these points you discussed! I'll have to share this video with him to talk about #6!
I believe you’re sharing a correct perspective on this. Peter is not represented well in some sermons. But I believe Peter’s personality was key! When I read the gospels I sense that Peter’s love for Christ was very deep and heart felt.
Good job Brother! This is so appreciated. God continue to Bless your work to bring greater clarity to the apostles' lives. Encouraging our faith walk.💒
Well done brother! From someone who's read The Bible for 30 plus years to hear In depth details about the apostles is really useful. This was the 1st time I've listened to you and What you teach is biblical and truthful which we all need to be so careful of. It says many will be led astray so we all need to pay close attention to what we are being taught.

@@TedEhioghae The Bible of which you refer to which is the Word of God, was compiled by the Catholic Church. Catholics are the Christian Church, the Church established by Jesus Christ. Man throughout history has proclaimed some heresies and differences of doctrine which culminated in the Protestant Reformation. All Catholics recognize the Protestant denominations that are trinitarian, in other words, the Catholic Church recognizes the one baptism into the Church proclaimed in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, using water. There are doctrinal and dogmatic differences beyond that, however, Catholics believe that all are saved through Jesus Christ according to God's judgment alone, and we can only know the Father through the Son. We have a very intimate and personal relationship with Jesus Christ, through whom the Father is revealed. The purpose of baptism is far deeper than a choice or acceptance of Jesus. All children are created in the image a nd likeness of God, and therefore deserve to become members of His flock as soon as possible, as baptism sanctifies us and removes original sin, although leaving the effects behind (concupiscence). Many of your proclamations about the Catholic Church stated above are misconceptions, and dialoguing about the differences directly with a well-educated Catholic is best. Many Catholics do not know their faith, likely because there was a period in history when they were discouraged from reading the Bible, after the Protestant Reformation. This is no longer the case. We know the Scriptures very well, and to develop a deep, and intimate relationship with Jesus is best aided by His Word, as He is the Word (John, Chapter 1). God bless you, and I look forward to knowing you in heaven someday!
The best thing in life is that God sees all your mistakes and weaknesses, knows your imperfections and still thinks you're completely amazing!

I decided that I need to speak to this person once more and let them know I regret my words and why and that I needed to repent and pray for forgiveness.
I just had a very heartfelt prayer and ask the Lord for forgiveness, guidance, courahe, strenght and to help me say things that will bring honor to his name.
Im about to sleep and wanted to hear what you had to say and I cant help but hear thay my Lord loves me. ❤❤ All I want is to do better, be better for him and my brothers and sisters. Thank you! ❤
I just loved how you described Simon Peter to us! You have such a way that's easier to understand with the Greek translations and Hebrew translations! Thank you! ❤️

Thank you for your knowledgeable and sweetly compassionate descriptions.

Would really like you to do more video on disciples. Love this one. So helpful. Also any bible study ones would be great too. Thanks for all your insights, much appreciated.
Definitely. I’ve got some Bible study ones coming soon. And I’ll definitely be covering more of the disciples!
@@nzadventurefamily3728 I'm curious, what teaching did you think denied Jesus' divinity?
@@BrandonRobbinsMinistry I'm sorry Brandon. I thought you were Brandon Robertson!

@@BrandonRobbinsMinistry YAY FROM A NEW SUB FROM NORTH CENTRAL TEXAS‼️🤠🇨🇱✝️✝️🛐✝️🛐✝️🛐🛐🛐🛐✝️🛐✝️🛐🛐😇
Im going to share this with my son. He needs to hear this.
Are we not so very thankful for Peter. This is a great help for us. lt is taught so thoughtfully.
I want to thank the Lord for saving my life 🙏 so many times when he didn't have to. And thanks to him I turned 55 today. God is good 🙏
I watched this out of curiosity , but I really learned a lot from this.
Thank you Lord Jesus for Your Mercy towards me, We love You
Thank you!
Amazing insight brother....
Nothing can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus.
That’s such a great moment!
I like the sound of your voice
I do know these words can be taken several ways -
So, take them ALL 🍃🌹
Hello from Wuhan,China.
God Loves YOU...

You too!
It brings me such joy to see that you are blessed by this. I am praying for you, Ruby, as you continue to share your faith in the midst of opposition.
- You guys have images/statues in your church of "saints", when clearly in one of the Ten Commandments it says in Exodus 20:4 says:
Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, *or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above* , *or that is in the earth beneath* , *or that is in the water under the earth" .
- You guys pray to an image of "Jesus Christ" when you shouldn't pray to any image or have any necklaces. Exodus 20:5 says:
*Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them* , *nor serve them* : for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
- You guys baptise children, when I think they should be baptised when they give their life to Jesus Christ, A.K.A. being a new creature in Christ.
- You guys have the 7 sins or something like that which ISN'T in the Bible.
- Etc...

wrong. petros does not mean rock. the feminine petra does. petros is the masculine form of petra
@@ThetennisDr No, you're wrong.
Peter is a masculine name originating in the Greek language meaning "rock" or "stone." This name is derived from the Greek version, Petros, which translates to "stone." - Google

Thank you Sir!!!!
Thank you, thank you ❤️.
Just one word…..AWESOME!
Wow, thanks!
I’ve been there too! So glad to hear how God has helped you grow. Praying for your continued growth and boldness!
Blessings

I believe you’re sharing a correct perspective on this. Peter is not represented well in some sermons. But I believe Peter’s personality was key! When I read the gospels I sense that Peter’s love for Christ was very deep and heart felt.
