Nomura has stated in an interview that Sora becomes a master early in kingdom hearts 3. Maybe in Olympus, who knows?

This would explain why the Kingdom Key looks like such a stock keyblade. Its the basic form of Sora's true keyblade.
How does that explain anything? The kingdom key is the key to the realm of light, so it doesn't really have to have any special features. The Master's Defender isn't really even more complex than the kingdom key in design either, and it most definitely doesn't look like an upgrade from the kingdom key like the wayfinder trio's keyblade upgrades do. The only significance Eraqus' keyblade has to Sora is the fact that it is necessary to unlock the chamber of awakening with Ventus' body in it. I agree that it's a possibility that Sora's "true keyblade" (a keyblade created from his heart instead of obtained like the kingdom key or Master's Defender) could manifest in kh3, but I highly doubt that eraqus' keyblade is really attached to Sora in any significant way.
Elephant in the room: the X blade is just 2 of that stock keyblade

You know how the say No Name is the most ancient keyblade of all? What if Master’s Defender is also an old keyblade passed down to Eraqus and belonged to a Dandelion originally? Lot of ideas coming from this HMK. Good theory. 😁

To be honest I think the Masters Defender was Luxu's original keyblade, I mean he would have had to have had one before being given the No Name by the Master of Master's
And think about it Luxu was essentially the Master of Master's truest apprentice so it would make sense for his Keyblade to be called
The Masters Defender.
Although I am not against Sora getting The Master's Defender as his "true" Keyblade, I would rather see an original design for Sora's Keyblade Armor rather then just him wearing Master Eraqus's Armor. Perhaps an original design armor based off of Eraqus's would be more fitting.

I kinda hope they go into the lore behind the master defender, and why it has the abilities that other keys don't. I know it was transferred from master to master, but where did it come from is my question.
Possible theory is that it was Luxu original keyblade, before he inherited "No name" from the master.
I thought about that concept too. Or hell, it could even be the Master of Masters Keyblade. I mean, it is called the MASTERS defender.

@@stevenhiggins3055 And that's cool. But you know what's even cooler? Dual wielding No Name and Master's Keeper. I don't stand by this theory, I just really like the idea of it. The Master of Masters setting up both sides, light and darkness, with their respective keyblades. Like they're the OG Oathkeeper and Oblivion. Just sounds awesome to me.

Manemuf no you need either pure light and pure darkness clash or 7 lights and 13 darknesses clash. Ventus wasn’t always meant to clash with Vanitas. Xehanort wanted to use Ven as a vessel (terras role) but he was too kind hearted

This theory made me obsessed with the whole theory of Eraqus being Sora's dad or just related to him since we only hear his mum in the first game and we hear about his dad from Riku in BBS but never again, the exact game Eraqus dies in. I mean, for all we know Eraqus could've had a secret son he hid because he feared that Yen Sid/Xehanort would be pissed since world order and all, so a keyblade wielder having a child with a woman from another world would probably be considered a crime against world order (eerily like the Jedi, huh?)
Well... unless you think that Sora is adopted (which can be a theorie) it's impossible for Eraqus to be his dad. Remember in bbs, Riku said Sora's dad brought them in the island to play. OR in the same time, Eraqus was still in the Land of Departure and he had not leave this world since the beginning of the game....
I have a theory that I really think you should delve into HMK. Remember Vexen? You know, that mad scientist guy? This may sound crazy but I honestly believe Even has ties to the events of Union Cross. Remember those comments that he made towards Ventus in Birth by Sleep? He seems to be interested in Ventus, calling him "a special case" and saying "I have a feeling we will cross paths again". Not only that, Vexen seems to hold a very strong hatred towards Marluxia in Chain of Memories. Could these 2 points be hints towards Even's connection to the events of Xchi? But wait why would Even be pissed at Marluxia anyway? I believe it has something to do with Strelitzia's death. Maybe Even has a relationship with her, whether it being love, a friend, or maybe they were just siblings. But I thought I might point this out because the concept of other characters appearing in the Union Cross storyline is really interesting!

I’m not the only one who doesn’t like Ventus’ final keyblade right? It just looks too different from it’s original when compared with Terra and Aqua’s.
I like how Master Defender is very much like Eraqus, simple and not over the top, a great contrast to Xehanort
I know right, that's how I'd want mines If I had one..
I believe it isn’t his final form because there’s a fragmented heart at the teeth of the blade. Which means Ventus is incomplete without Vanitas. This is probably why Vanitas will abandon the seekers of darkness to confront Sora and Aqua but will eventually reform with Ventus once Sora gives his heart back. Probably by this time or before going to Land of Departure/Castle Oblivion, Sora will find Master’s Defender and assume the rights to wield it. Like how Riku mentioned that someday Sora could wield Way to Dawn.

That's because it's a totally different keychain, not an evolved form of his base Keyblade like Stormfell and Ends of the Earth are.
It's probably because Lost Memory is Ventus' true manifestation of his inner self prior to losing his memory and separation from Vanitas. That's why Lost Memory kind of looks sinister.
Unlike Terra and Aqua, I don't think Ventus' elemental alignment with wind is his true self. That would explain why his final Keyblade doesn't correlate with his name, but rather his past before becoming Eraqus' pupil.

Yooooo I love this theory. My favorite point is how the Master Defender has similarities to the Kingdom Key, just like how the Keyblades the BBS trio get on the Islands have similarities to their first keyblades. Keep up the great work!

On a serious note though, i mean there are so many directions that the final confrontation can take. I believe keyblade armor to be the best concept to get introduced and it feels like they have moved away from it instead of embracing it.
I truely hope that we get that armor, that story, and the angle form you talked about in another vid, would be epic

So what I'm thinking is thats sora will fight xehanort and get murked on and his keyblade will break, I'm guessing similarly to how way to dawn broke, and sora will be like "oh my god what do i do my keyblade is broken" and he'd start to go to yen sid but he'd end up back at Destiny islands where he'll see masters defender, I'm thinking this because the way they change keyblades is through the keychains changing the form of the keyblades. And riku's way to dawn is broken, thats why he has a brand new keyblade

Beautiful theory, and I can definitely see that. Makes me wish Eraqus was still alive and Sora was one of his pupils. I'm definitely sure that Eraqus would no doubt name Sora a master after his accomplishments. And I believe Eraqus is a better teacher than Yen Sid could ever dream of.
I don't know, I have a feeling Eraqus may get revived. Remember, "no one dies in this series......"
But technically Eraqus isn't dead. He's just bumming it out in Terra's heart until the time is right. And David Timmer I don't think Eraqus is a better teacher. The guy did try to murder an innocent boy who did nothing wrong and instead of trying to help Terra confront the darkness in him he just continued to drill his Light is Might mentality into everything. Eraqus is as much a zealot to the light as Xehanort and his many incarnations are zealots to darkness.
@@Drums_of_Liberation And Yen Sid does NOTHING throughout the entire series, so there's no point in him even being there to begin with. We're told he's a powerful and wise sorcerer, but never shown, so why is he even in there in the first place? Yen Sid's useless. And truth be told, I'd rather have Eraqus as a teacher than Yen Sid, because we're at least shown what Eraqus' capabilities are.
@@davidtimmer596 We don't need to be shown Yen Sid's magical mastery, because that was already shown in his original appearance in Fantasia. And let's be honest Eraqus was pretty useless too for being unable to help his students the way he should have not to mention his idiocy in trusting the obviously evil old man sitting right next to him. His only redeeming factor was that he saw the error of his ways. If only it weren't too late. Not to mention Yen Sid was the only one who produced a successful student. What happened Eraqus' again? Oh right one was possessed, one is now Norted, and the other in a coma. Mickey might not be perfect but at least he knows what he's doing for the most part. Kind of sad when the student of the guy who sits in a chair all day is more successful.
I feel like while no way superior and all mighty, Eraqus is the lesser of three evils of the Original Master Trio. He attacked Ven as a last resort to stop the Xblade and killing of hundreds, he actually confronted Xehanort over his darkness and bonded with his students, knowing that they were bound to make mistakes. He wasn't overly harsh to Terra and explained how he went wrong with his darkness and saw his students as his children.
Yen Sid has done nothing with his seemingly huge power potential, didn't try to seek out of stop Xehanort at all in the series, sent Mickey to do everything despite knowing he is a king and has other duties as well, didn't care about Sora's safety in the exam and then failed him despite it being completely Yen Sid's fault for not protecting a vulnerable teenager from being overwhelmed by darkness, never training him at all and then making Micky stay quiet about Aqua to Riku (and then everyone blames Mickey for it when he wanted to go back and save her immediately)
I think this theory is AWESOME! See? This is why I keep you around. You never cease to amaze me with your outstanding theories.

I initially thought that the new Keyblade we saw in the 2015 KH3 trailer would be Sora’s new, true Keyblade but this kind of makes more sense. I like that the Master’s Defender is simple, not over the top like Shooting Star. And it kind of does look like an evolution of the Kingdom Key. I do hope we see Sora’s true Keyblade at one point in KH3 though.

I don't think the Keyblade will be his. Aqua was the last "owner" of that keyblade, she used it to transform her Home (Land of Departure) into Castle Oblivion where she hid sleeping Ventus in the Chamber of Awakening.
She then used it on the KHBBS Secret Episode when she was in the realm of darkness.
If yall watched the KH3 trailer she was last seen possessed by the darkness and had yellow eyes and grey hair. So she probably lost control of the keyblade.
If you played Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Fragmented Passage and saw the opening scene you see Aqua in the ocean reaching up, and Sora holding his hand into the water and grabbing Aqua, and all this was on the beach of Destiny Island.
Throughout the Kingdom Hearts games Destiny Island has had some sort of neutral zone with the realm of darkness, most items they sent in the realm of darkness traveled to Destiny Island (the few messages in the bottle are a perfect example).
So to sum up, the keyblade washed over to Destiny Island because Aqua had it in the Realm of Darkness, she probably couldn't wield it anymore because she was controlled by the darkness and the keyblade washed up to Destiny Island where Sora found it and picked it up.
